FRIENDLY REMINDER: Nintendo are chasing the Wii ghost of success

FRIENDLY REMINDER: Nintendo are chasing the Wii ghost of success.

How? GIMMICKS, GIMMICKS, and more GIMMICKS. Hey, it worked for Wii, right?

When will top brass at Nintendo acknowledge that the Wii was a fad; an anomaly and that packing as many gimmicks as possible into an underpowered, overpriced piece of shit does not equal a popular, successful console.

Are we witnessing the death of Nintendo as a competent hardware manufacturer?

Will they ever return to making great consoles?

Will they inevitably end up going third party?

Have my hemorrhoids finally gone away?

>Are we witnessing the death of Nintendo as a competent hardware manufacturer?

Nobody manufacturers their own hardware in the gaming world. Hell. Noone DESIGNS their own hardware, even.

Nintendo is the last competent hardware designer, in that respect

Microsoft always relied on Intel, IBM, nVidia, or AMD. Putting out an underpowered PC as their first console. With a Celeron Processor, and nVidia GeForce graphics.
Sony has relied on IBM, nVidia, PowerVR, or AMD since the PS3. Before that, they had the Emotion Engine and similar, in-house developed chips.
Nintendo started using IBM/ATI tech in the Gamecube, but even that was on heavily modified chips, fused together by a 3rd party onto 1 die. But beyond that, Nintendo continued to roll their own chips for their handhelds (they did use a small japanese company's GPU for the 3DS, though, but stuff like the CPU, security chips, and more, were developed by them).

Nintendo is actually the last bastion of hope in the console races. An Xbox One is a glorified fucking Windows 10 PC. A PS4 is the same shit, running some shitty proprietary OS. Both severely underpowered. The Wii U, while less powerful than the other two, offered a different experience versus what I could get on a PC. Dual-Screen gaming. Psuedo-portable gaming. Mixed-mode multiplayer. The Switch, while interesting, is beginning to crumble, still, unfortunately. It's starting to yield to faggots like you who think Consoles have to all be the same for some unearthly reason. Those "gimmicks" you cry about, were what made Nintendo's consoles unique, and those are starting to fade.

We're entering another dark age of gaming, folks.

Not everyone has a gaming PC, you fucking faggot.

It's entirely reasonable to want Nintendo games on a console that isn't underpowered, overpriced and compromised by a slew of retarded gimmicks.

FRIENDLY REMINDER: pure sales numbers are nothing but dickwaving retardation when it comes to measuring success.

>Not everyone has a gaming PC, you fucking faggot.

But they sure have enough money to throw it away to consoles and expensive services that is going to stack up the prices eventually.

I WONDER WHY THIS CHART STOPS BEFORE 2012

>2010

Still clinging to the ghosts of the past, drone?

sale numbers determine how much support your console will get, so they definitely are important, you moron

It's 1080p while docked at your TV, mong. And the 32gb of storage works due to the games being on flash carts.

But your shitpost image will work on the stupid so well done.

>people spend money on things they want

Does that upset you, autist? Not everyone cares about gaming on PC. Many people are perfectly happy to spend money on consoles and completely forego the PC experience.

So what's your point?

My argument is that Nintendo want to replicate the success of the Wii by releasing another gimmick console while alienating their core audience and third party developers.

>2017
>b-b-but it's less shit when docked
>32GB storage

Drones defend this.

You have absolutely no argument. If it's 1080 while docked it meets the standard that every console abides by. If it's 720 in portable mode, it has surpassed every dedicated handheld before it. The 32gb of storage will only be used for saves and eshop downloads and is thus more than enough.

Do you have any other misinfo or is that all you can muster?

Switch doesn't have any gimmicks.

All video games are gimmicks.
The thread is void of real content.

(You)

Yeah shoehorning motion faggotry and a launchgame that takes advantage of it for a third time isn't a gimmick, right?

>You have absolutely no argument. If it's 1080 while docked... *more retarded BS*

It's not. 900p for Zelda which is a 16GB game, good luck playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on this.

>900p for Zelda
Do you have a reputable source that can verify this 100%? All footage I've seen has looked to be in 1080 thus far.

>good luck playing Red Dead Redemption 2
I do not give a single shit about multiplats on a Nintendo console. I wish they had a console powerful enough for it just to bring the casuals and the money, but I'm an idort. If I wanna play multiplats I'll play them on my PC, Xbone, or Ps4. Nintendo always does just fine on their systems in the way of first party.

Optional ;)
