Because I like to play them on the 3ds. I used to emulate some ds games on my phone and while it's fine for games like Pokémon, platformers and games that require a lot of touch screen interaction play like Shit.

I played a little bit with a friends n3ds XL yesterday and it was pretty comfy with the big screen, but I really like the looks of the normal one and the cover plates seem like fun.

I have a 3DS XL and regular N3DS and mostly play on the XL because I find the bigger screen more comfortable to look at.
