It's a money grabbing scam that is going to disappoint when/if it actually comes out.

>going to disappoint when/if it actually comes out
so the disappointment will never happen

You don't enjoy what has come out already?

If it never happens it's still a disappointment. Plus there's always the consistently disappointing beta build releases.

>money grabbing
Well yeah. All companies want money. They're basically having an open donation policy, where they'll give you incentives in return as thanks. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars. I mean even private servers exist where you can have every single ship from the game, and even mod them. I'll never understand why you people can't wrap your head around this. You're not expected to pay this ridiculous amount

No one does. Some people like to pretend they do to try and justify their expensive ships though.

>incentives in return as thanks.
>OP ships that will probably take years to earn by playing
>thnks

Roommate constantly shills this game at every possible moment and it just smells like one big scam. Feature creep, outrageously expensive virtual ships for the sake of being expensive, and it's been in development for how long now?

Yeah, no thanks.

it's coming, just don't forget to buy more stuff

>that require multiple people to effectively pilot
>can be overwhelmed by a ragtag group of lesser ships and hijacked

It's just a non issue m8

Actually you guys seem right, maybe I shouldn't get the alpha.

you posted in tortanic central, what thoughts did you actually expect?

>"But they're already released things!"
>"All this shit is buggy as fuck and barely playable though"
>"B-but it's just an alpha!"
>"It's been 4 fucking years"

Typically how that conversation goes.

Idk I just wanted to hear what Sup Forums thought before I bought it. I went in too optimistic

go to the thread on /vg/

I think most people expect something completely different than what they will get when this game comes out.

I mean there's tons of gameplay, interviews, and you can play the game right now for christ sake yet people talk about the game as if they know absolutely nothing and just make shit up.

Gonna be the same reaction as no mans sky even though everyone could easily see exactly what it was like before release. Same like MGSV, tons of gameplay, interviews, etc. and then it comes out and people expected something else. People are crazy. Moreso with this game cause thye spend 3,000 and then imagine what thye want the game to be like

That's 3k for development instead of profits though

I don't think it will/would flop as nearly as bad as no mans sky. If it ever does come out.

Honestly looks like it could be absolutely incredible. One of the very few games which I'm "hyped" for, not 100 percent sure they'll pull it off though.

(I haven't bought any ships before I get called a shill)

im not talking about it flopping, im talking about hordes of butthurt retards buying it and expecting something different than what was clearly presented to them in previews.

It definitely isnt gonna flop

I see your point but how would people get like that if you could literally play it or watch gameplay right now?

>games I've seen

You've seen it? Are you from 2020, when it's finally "released" (it isn't)

You can play the alpha

idk, people got brain damage, it happens all the time. I mean i know 2 dudes who spent 2k+ on this game. I dont know exact amounts but they spent a lot.. possibly a lot more than that. Anyways, i spent 40 bucks and played with them a bunch and they get sick of the game faster than me. They never even touched the racing module, and 1 hasnt even tried star marine yet. They have these giant 700$ ships and barely touch the game even to dogfight, but if you talk to them about the game "OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS AMAZING THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!"

Its like some fucking cult. I mean people talked about No mans sky the same way, and acted like it was fucking unbelievably amazing before it came out.. and I watched the same videos they did, shit looked like an extremely chill, boring, and repetitive exploration game. I dont know wtf other people saw in those videos.

Same with lots of other games. I mean star citizen is gonna be fun to me, i mean the fucking dynamic nature of the current space battles and space walks makes mundane encounters entertaining, but it aint gonna be this crazy game with tons of stuff people make it out to be. And its gonna be one of those perpetual buggy games too imo, but my tolerance is very high for that. Was playing Stalker Clear Sky today and that bitch crashed like 8 times on me.

That scenario sounds like it rests on the assumption of a large skill/coordination gap between the two sides, AKA it will barely happen.
