Nice dildo
laugh at them for getting a mic barely better than a Snowball but significantly worse than their regular XLR mics
I-I have a snowball
>always research on many websites what's the best X to get
>tfw you bought one because everyone and their mother was saying it was legit good
had I known I would've got the little box with the real mic but oh well. How's the resale value?
and I didn't say it's shit, dude
I mean that, if you want to get a better mic, you may as well get an interface and a decent XLR instead. you end up with an external soundcard as well.
>hey er... nice mic, so like you record audio professionally or something?
>nah
>do you stream or podcast then?
>nah i just use it for games really
>dont you think its a bit overkill?
>no all my favourite streamers use them xD
>if streamers told you to jump off a cliff would you do it
> whatever user its my money (parents) i can buy whatever i want!
Same, we should let them touch
I have cheap table mic. I dont want t obe that fag with a shitty mic in ts
Well my roommate got his exact mic for Christmas, so when this scenario happened I made robot penis jokes
Hope that helped
Depends what he intends to use it for - if its just for VOIP, even the mic that comes with the shittiest bundled chinese phone earphones will sound as fine as anything else used for voice chat - extremely cheap desk mics are usually surprisingly decent these days and you're just burning money if you're spending more than like 20 bucks.
If his intention is to be a YouTuber or streamer and he's got shit like a pop filter and a vibration-dampening arm on there, well then you ought to just kindly sit him down and tell him to focus on getting a real job.
this
OK tell me what to use instead for just playing games that sits on a desk
What's going on in that webm?
autism
Audiophile listening to music on ludicrously overpriced headphones that are apparently pretty bad if your ears are trained for such things.
is there anything good like the snowball but bit cheaper?
So...he's in pain?
Yeah, that is pretty much it.
I guess its like noticing the difference between 20fps and 60fps for us.
>lead a very listless and boring life
>want to do something creative
>really want to make music
>get a bunch of equipment
>buy this microphone for vocals
>spend a grand total of about 20 hours trying to make music
>don't like anything I make
>can't get into it
>stop completely
>use mic for video game chat
>feel like a poser every time someone walks in
Never hear about 'hobbies' before?
You *are* a poser if you only bothered spending 20 hours trying to make music and just gave up.
Kek, same.
It's a good mic though, good quality and you don't have to have anything on you head.
Probably bipolar and was in mania.
Look at his facecam videos on youtube and laff
Same, the quality is pretty decent for the price
but fuck me I wish it wouldnt pick up everything. I dont need to hear my friend washing dishes in his fuckin living room
>streaming as a hobby
I own this and I basically use it to record music and chat with my friends when I play Vidya.
I'm starting a youtube channel and I was going to get this mic based off reviews.
Is there anything that's a higher quality for voice recording under $200, or is it just another "Sup Forums dislikes something because its popular" episode?
I heard that there are a lot of microphones way cheaper than that one that are way better but who knows.
It's allways a Sup Forums dislike episode. are you new?
...
>that guy that has a pro streaming setup and has been streaming and youtubing for years with
Describe this to me. Pretty sure my father was bipolar and I've wondered for awhile if I am too. Did some research and a lot of the signs line up with how I am, but so do a lot of the signs of schizophrenia, depression, and other such things.
People won't care about your voice quality if your content is good, why not worry about money once you're a bit more established and are sure its not just some passing fad you're trying.
It's actually fun as fuck to entertain people. Build up an audience, engage with them, keep them entertained, it is a hobby and it's fun, even if you're not making money off it.
>want to purposely get a bad mic to shout at my teammates in Russian
Does anyone have good recommendations?
>tfw i have one
did get one because i wanted to stream a bit, which i did but i haven't done so in two years or so. I have a arm ish for it too, it is pretty good quality but it is indeed large and not very practical.
just buy the cheapest one you can find an set the bitrate as low as possible
>Hey nice mic
you mean pretend to be people's friends for a fistful of shekels
It easy to look good when you control both sides of a conversation.
>hey er... nice mic, so like you record audio professionally or something?
>nah
>do you stream or podcast then?
>nah i just use it for games really
>dont you think its a bit overkill?
>eh l've always been picky about audio quality
>that doesn't change the quality of other people's audio
>yeah but I feel bad if I sound like shit
>that's a waste of your mom's money
>man I work 40+ plus hours a week and invited you into my home and you act like a self righteous cunt
>Whatever I don't even like video games.
>open desk drawer
>dig around for the in-line mic earphones that came with your phone from ten years ago
>implying people will watch your video if they can't hear you decently
200 bucks is way too much though, there are plenty of other mikes that are great like this one amazon.com
mustard gas
Go on wikipedia, type in bipolar disorder and read. Lazy fagget.
>there are literally hundreds of thousands of people thinking they will be the next twitch sensation
>millions for youtube
>some of them are in this very thread
just.get.a.job.
>kid walks in
'omg a new mic, cool'
>kid talks to his fb friends
>his friends little brother says I thought you were watching a video, sounded like a youtuber
I bought it on sale, last desktop mic got chewed up by cats and they've left it alone.
*brofists you*
that piece of shit looks like it was designed specifically to break easily
yea, there are other millions of people trying so what's the point in doing anything?
Never try anything kids, don't even try to have fun
>sister gets me one of these as a gift
>can't figure out how to stop it from picking up my typing
>pick up a headset instead
was there any way for me to fix it?
> that are apparently pretty bad if your ears are trained for such things
>pretty bad if your ears are trained for such things
>ears are trained for such things
>EARS
>TRAINED
>FOR SUCH THINGS
Mother fucker, what? If you can hear, you're basically able to discern these kinds of things outright.
To be fair, those Ultrasone Edition 10's are atrocious at $3K. But his reaction is also over-the-top dramatic.
As for this guy:
Sometimes having a better-than-average mic is okay in games. I've heard a lot of shitty mics, let me tell you. Should you pay $100 for a casual use experience? Probably not. Would it hurt in the long run? Probably not. I have some shitty Jensen desktop mic that's almost 20 years old, and people can hear me just fine on it. But I hate it, and would like to replace it sometime. And, seriously, not everyone buys things because their parents give them money, that only applies to people who are like 20 years old or younger.
As I said in my previous post, I've already done that. Was just looking for a more casual explanation of it rather than checking off all the general symptoms that I feel and assuming I must be bipolar. Especially since you seem familiar with it.
do it all you want but don't expect to be successful.

Use push to talk
You often pick up things and just start flexing them in your meaty paws Quasimodo? It probably sounds fine for voice chat.
Basically you get into a mindset where you think of things and are pretty sure they are genius. Like 1 day thinking you could make music so you spend your life savings on a studio and then when you come out of mania you realize it was a bad idea and now you have no money.
It's kind of hard to explain but mania feels awesome and convinces you to do things against your better judgement because you're positive it's a good idea.
It's often as low as $30. There's no reason to go cheaper.
its called being impulsive
everyone does it.
It's a lot of fun. Not to mention I get free games all the time in exchange for making some content. This one dev gave me 30 keys to stream his game. 35 dollar game too.
I got mine for like 50$ on an amazon sale 2 years ago.
I was tired of my headset's cable breaking, and I use ventrilo daily.
No ragrets
I had one, it sucked horribly
Not him but I don't have a donate button so no.
You thinking that is your fault for only watching 300+ viewer streams.
I get about 30 per stream and I like talking to all of them.
Heh.... uh wait...
I do my best Sonic Adventure 2 impressions

I don't get this webm. Does the phones sound that good or that bad? I can't tell anymore.
Fucking audiophiles man
I use a rock band 2 microphone I a tripod intended for a laser pointer. Works great.
Yes, but like times 20. People have wrecked their lives in mania and enjoyed doing so.
2008 was 9 years ago, was okayish for 30USD back then. the yeti's maybe a year old and I've only made a couple tutorial videos with it.
>tfw you drop the game you bought the mic for cuz the devs keep shitting up the game
stick it up my ass
I use an AT-2035 with a Behringer Q1202USB.
I EQ heavy bass and it makes me sound awesome.

don't expect to earn much would be more accurate. If you are knowledgeable and never stop improving you can have a moderately big channel.
It's obviously that if you can't entertain, have nothing really interesting to say or aren't capable of making an interesting video you don't have a future.
In the end the only truth is that there aren't many people that can really expect to earn from youtube or to use youtube as their only revenue.
It's the headphones, they sound bad but you probably wouldn't even notice, because audiophiles are an entirely different level of autism.
bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness cured with heavy dosage of psychotropes that actually can't ever fully being cured that doesn't really have anything to do with being an impulsive idiot.
That's called being a teenager.
You don't know your limits, you don't know who you are, so you try different things and fail and quit a lot.
its a joke webm, autist.
my friends/stream viewers hate my blue yeti because it picks up too much noise like when my parents are in the background.
Yes, a lot of teenagers have 30k in lifes savings.
they are not really supposed to be used for casual voice chat.
well then it's called being an immature manchild
Laugh at them for paying that much for a USB MIC. Same thing some guy said earlier, just get a snowball or xlr with an interface if you're going to spend that much.
>>walk into friends room
if only
Take a shit in the middle of the room and then scream in his mother's face.
Jared?
...
i get like 15-25 depending on the day whats ur stream family?
i have $400 headphones and i prefer to use a piece of shit $15 xbox 360 microphone plugged into a wireless 360 controller for PC gaming
if you have a desktop mic your volume is going to be completely inconsistent unless you speak from the exact same distance and direction from it or unless you have a limiter/compressor on very high
I would lecture them on cheap 20$ XLR microphones until they hate me.
>what do you do?
Don't berate him for spending his own money on something completeley harmless. I value my friends' friendship and as such I'm not gonna strain it by getting on my soap box over something that's trivial and go out of my way to create animosity between the two of us.
Bought one of these on sale, it's bretty fun to use. A friend and I pretended we had our own podcast while we drank in my room, that shit was great.
Haven't touched it since.
>what do you do?
Force feed it to him
I've payed >3,600USD for the last 10 years to keep my two cats alive, 90USD for a yeti was nothing.
How much do you spend to keep your pets? was it worth it?
...
>not blowing $80,000 over 3 years just to stay sane and distract yourself from the cold sweats only to realize they're a symptom of the fact that you're allergic to most foods you and most other people in the world eat including an allergy that causes mania and schizophrenia and then end up starving all the time and malnourished despite having eaten more food than probably anyone else in the history of man kind at your age
>mfw a friend randomly bought me one and posted it across the Atlantic
