I've never played a Zelda game

I've never played a Zelda game.

Which should I play if I want to get into it?

Wait for BotW, it's coming out soon and all the cool kids are gonna be playing it.

Link's Awakening

Ocarina of Time (64 version, first print) in it's original intended hardware

Llink to the Past, Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker.

OoT3D or ALBW

Majora's Mask has the most artistic value in it, its babies first artcore game.

OoT is a nice epic that compliments MM.

Wind Waker/twilight princess are fun.

Zelda 1, 2, LTTP, FSA, awakening, Oracle games, and LBW are the only 2d games worth playing

Ocarina of Time 3D because the 64 version has really bad FPS in many areas

Windwaker might be the best starting point.

>Zelda 1, 2, LTTP, FSA, awakening, Oracle games, and LBW are the only 2d games worth playing
What other ones are there??

>People telling others to play the controversial 3d versions

Look I know it's cool to be pro-new and corporate cocksucking but why would you recommend a controversial remake? Obviously the original should come first no matter what your opinion is unless the remakes are unanimously liked

Ocarina of time. But seriously user, you're better off without zelda. Zelda is a terrible franchise that is only kept alive because of the delusions of the fans. It has been bested by every other game in the genre but the fanboys think that it's always innovating. For Skyward sword they added a half assed crafting system and I saw nintendrones saying that Zelda had just invented crafting. I shit you not. You don't want to be part of this franchise

mario

The Zelda CDI Games. Don't look it up. Trust me. You'll thank me later for telling you that.

The rest are minish cap, four swords, spirit tracks, phantom hourglass, and I think that's it. The rest kinda suck.

>Close your eyes and don't indulge this influential art piece, the corporation that owns it made shittier new ones so you shouldn't support the integrity of the originals.
Wew

Minish Cap is fucking great though

Ocarina of Time 3D
You'll love it

Second half meant for
It's a far shittier majoras mask that lacks any substance with mediocre everything. It's the weakest capcom Zelda game for sure.

Minish cap, the co-op games and the DS games might count.

I think you're a goddamn pleb.

This has nothing to do with the shit that nintendo does.

It's about the fact that zelda has been pretty fucking mediocre after OoT and the only reason why it's still considered great is because of the circlejerk effect where every fanboy repeats "ITS A PERFECT GAME" so much taht everyone actually believes it. its real life meme magic

>Can't adapt to less FPS
3d OOTfags are casuals who are still supporting Nintendo like retarded sheep

Only thing wrong with Minish Cap is it's too short

>Try Ocarina of Time
>Can't get into it
>Try Twilight Princess
>Can't get into it
>Try Wind Waker
>Kind of enjoying it even though I'm only a couple of hours in

I don't know why, but Wind Waker is the only one so far that I've found myself actually liking. Am I doing something wrong?

>Majora's Mask
>Not better than OoT in every way
You've got a point about the rest though

The essential Zelda games is

>3d
Ocarina of Time
>2d
A Link to the Past

After that I recommend you play Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening.

It's not about not being able to adapt, it's just that there's no reason to

It's just more enjoyable at 60fps compared to 20 or less.

I can't even play Doom at 35FPS anymore because 60fps ports make it feel that much better.

I don't even care about the graphics otherwise. If the N64 version could be 60fps that would be great too, but it can't.

OoT feels dreadfully slow at the beginning. But it gets a lot better if you trudge through

Wind Waker is a good game though, don't be ashamed.

The combat sucks and the game is mostly overrated by people who played it as a kid. Don't bother.

No. Windwaker is the best one.

Nostalgia fags and shitters will disagree.

>3D
Ocarina of Time followed by Majora's Mask
>2D
A Link to the Past followed by Minish Cap

CROSSBOW
TRAINING

ocarina of time

The first one on nes. Use your smartphone and look up the original booklet and map. Using those along with old nintendo power makes a good adventure experience

Is Wind Waker a good starting point?

How much would a gamecube copy cost me

Oh, I thought everyone hated Wind Waker.

I like its art style a lot, but the other ones all just look boring to me.

Get it for an emulator. It runs really nicely.

/thread

Wind Waker is a good starting point, it has a lot of exposition compared to Ocarina of Time but definitely a solid game that's a lot of fun in the late-start/early middle and very end.

Zeldafags take themselves too seriously. It's still the best looking Zelda game fifteen years later.

Gamecube copies run 50 bucks. They're pricy.

I'd just recommend getting a dolphin emulator and going onto emuparadise. They got all the ISOs for everything from the PS2 era and before.

Wired xbox controller is what I stand by, but there's some Gamecube controller to USB adapters around on the internet, so go try and find those if you want.

I really liked wind waker, however it just fell flat when it came to finding all the triforce pieces. Shit sucked.

Is this one of the situations where "true fans" think differently to normal people?

Yes, normies almost universally agree the game is gorgeous. Only Zelda purists bitch about it.
