The story in DMC isn't really important, they can easily do some asspulls and nobody really cares.

The real reason DMC went to Ninja Theory is because Itsuno was burnt out on the franchise after 4. Which he isn't anymore.

Could he actually be working on a new one? It would take place after 2 right?

>Could he actually be working on a new one? It would take place after 2 right?

Nope, DMC2 is the Star Wars prequels of the franchise.

It's "canon".

The timeline is fine if you ignore 2

Third is first chronologically, then 1 and then you end up with 4. Easy to continue from there.

3, 1, 4, 2
Really not that cuhrazy.
I'd love a sequel to 2 that has Dante going into hell and helping Vergil who's still fighting Mundus, years later

Unclear continuity has never stopped Capcom from making sequels. Or anyone really since it's video games.

This. What part of the timeline is supposed to be fucked? It all fits together perfectly

I hate DMC3 Dante's design

Maybe they just don't know what the fuck to do with Nero

This. Nero is clearly meant to inherit Dante's legacy at the end of 4. Making a new DMC game with Nero as the protagonist would turn off the fans almost as much as Donte with Ninja Theory, and having Dante "coincidentally" show up would just make it DMC4-2 instead of a full fledged 5. Going for a pure Dante game for 5 would mean the entire story in 4 is completely pointless, which would piss off another group of the fanbase.

They kind of fucked themselves with 4. A reboot is the only reliable means you can go from without making 4 a waste of time.

Make Nero go evil and have Dante have to save him.

There's your DMC5 plot right there, it's not rocket science.

Wait... what genre is this again?

That makes no goddamned sense and trashes Nero's character completely.

Swing and a fucking miss, Tameem.

Well then... I'm retarded

>That makes no goddamned sense
His demon side took over. The end.

Who cares about nero?

Stylish Action

Try actually playing 4 you mong.

More people than what a taiwanese echo chamber thinks.

DMC4 literally foreshadows that Vergil's spirit has an influence on Nero's mind with the "Give me more power" shit.

It makes perfect sense.

I did.

There's no reason he couldn't lose his mind and become a demon monster for plot reasons.

shit idea desu, Dante was already "evil" for half the game in 4.
An why would the 'weaker' character become the villian, he poses literally no threat to dante, or even the world..

CAG

Character Action Game

>hurr it's a team that could describe literally anything

So is Role Playing Game. Deal with it.

The fuck? Nobody fucking cares about the story this much. Another game with Dante and Nero and possibly other characters playable except this time without half of the missions being retreads of previous ones would be pretty damn well received.

Nero was a weak bitch who just wanted to save his hoe, of course he wanted 'more power' it wasn't malicious, it was for a reason. What the fuck user. I think you are seeing things how you want them to be, rather than what they were.

it would still be quite interesting to see what dante went through for him to be how he was in 2.

Dont get me wrong, i actually enjoyed DmC. It had some fun gameplay. But its not my DMC

DMC5 needs to happen

Do it in reverse. Have a Dante game and then have Nero be a side character in it.

no one gives a fuck about story especially in a DMC game fag

a casualized reboot isn't necessary to continue the series when they could've just made up some excuse premise to get things going.

also lol @ itsuno being burnt out from the series when it wasn't even his and he sold it to tameem's team of edgy teenage hacks

No, its because this catfish looking faggot threw a tantrum and demanded all of capcoms games would do better in western devs hands.

He proceeded to give ninja theory the dmc ip and we got donte.

>Vergil somehow makes Nero go to hell to bring him the Yamato
>Kyrie hires Dante to go after him

Stop blaming him for everything

>What the fuck user. I think you are seeing things how you want them to be, rather than what they were.

Nero literally says he has a voice echoing in his head for more power. Nero is confirmed Vergil's son and DMC4SE ends with Vergil walking out of Fortuna with Nero's DT shadow; saying that "Soon they will know this Devil's power".

Nero going Evil/being pocessed by Vergil is not a stretch at all.

>Nero goes full possessed.
>He is basically Vergil's back-up body in case his plan failed and is the only reason Vergil had a kid.
>We have to trade in Nero storywise to get Vergil back.

Just make the game around the time when Dante guest stars in Nocturne.

I'm down for this, better level design would be a nice way to give that sort of a chase or "I just missed him" feeling.

Fuck off inafune.

Is the anime canon?

The anime has a section dedicated to it in the DMC3142 artbook so I'd say yes.

I honestly wouldn't mind if Nero took the spotlight for 5

The problem with this question is that literally fucking nothing happens in the anime

>shit we need 25 minutes of reasons for dante to not just immediately kill the demon

Same.

Nero's design is one of my favourite character designs in all of video games (along with The Prince in PoP 2008).

People already lost their shit when the main character of 4 was Nero instead of Dante, then grew to love Nero over time

It would be no problem having Nero be the MC of DMC5, with Dante as an unlockable character.

Or you could let people choose right from the start, instead of having to play as some angsty teen 80% of the game.

Or we could just get what everyone wants. A Virgil game

>Angst
>Nero

Did you play the game?

Except the prequels were good

Just play MvC3 competitively. It's pretty much just that.

Hey Sup Forums, would you play a "DMC Generations" where the villain tries to break time to crumble reality only to get his shit pushed in by a 4-man team of Dante's Castle Crashers style while maintaining the mechanics that each respective Dante utilized?

KIRIAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEGH

Shh don't you know its somehow still trendy to hate on the prequels. Don't let the hi/v/e spot you. Delete your post.

Yelling over your girlfriend being kidnapped is not angst, user.

If he had dwelled on it, gotten pissy and been insufferable about it, then you'd have a point.

I'd rather if HE ACTUALLY GOT TO USE FUCKING YAMATO
FUCK
HOLY FUCK I'M FUCKING MAD

Why is Uncle Dante's head so small?

I don't mind him having the Devil Trigger stand, but I hope they give him a proper Devil Trigger in his next appearance

And yes, being able to use Yamato and maybe a different gun would be great.

but then muh red queen totally original and unique sword design

He was skipping his workout at the library

that explains why he can't Free-ride and his kicking skills are shit. He skipped leg-day

Or we could get all 3. Start with Angelo as the tutorial, then play through three separate paths. Each character's story ties together in the middle and then it's pick-a-halfie for the second act (technically 1/3rd overall length) with somewhat different characterizations each. Eg. Nero would have a motorcycle guitar race as the first half of a particular boss while playing as Dante would have you go through an opera scene instead. Vergil would get a blade mode standoff duel.

Storywise they are just splitting up to tackle 3 problems simultaneously; you just get to pick who to take on your task.

>that new SMT game for the Nintendo Switch has that "Featuring Dante from DMC series" sticker again in europe
don't make me dream

Is there a more understandable main character motivation than nero's quest for kyries sweet ass?

Dante's odyssey to Lucia's ass in DMC2.

>Kyrie
>ass
What

It's never shown much ingame, but her model is THICC

...

He has humbled himself

Am I the only person really that's really bothered about this? It looks weird.

Is it because of the engine or something?

It's because that's the only pose facing forward and not being slouched. The angle fucks up with proportions

Nero meets up with Dante.
Dante talks about Vergil and so on while the two of them watch TV and eat pizza.

Nero wants his dad to be there for his wedding and maybe train him.

Dante shrugs, calls up Lady and Trish, the four of them go on a jolly journey to free Vergil. After beating up Vergil he joins the party and there's a bigger threat in hell yada yada yada final big bad final boss

what a shitfest
vergil is dead

Red Queen was cool and give you things to learn. Yamato's version of Exceed would be something like Dante's RG, release all charge for a shockwave/judgement cut

I mean Itsuno manage to make a guitar a viable weapon, giving Yamato a complete moveset is not that hard

Defend Jar Jar and his poopoo jokes
Defend Anakin's cringy dialogs
Defend fucking PS2-tier CGI
Defend the satuday morning cartoons villains
Go, defend it

>manage to make a guitar a viable weapon

Could have been better, needed more actual combos and less niche projectile shit

The timeline is not a problem. You could place as many sequels after the events of 1 or 4 as you'd like without messing up anything.

His head is still small even in-game iirc

Its lunge and launcher is fairly fast, and its Swordmaster moves are great

In comparison, Cerberus has no launcher and lunge, and its Swordmaster moves's animation take ages to do

I'm not sure what's the problem with having them both.
>start as Dante
>new big threat, same shit, another day
>eventually Dante gets cornered
>"Oi, old man, you seem to be in quite a pinch there."
>"Hey kid, you got here just in time for... DOUBLE crazy party!"
>you can (almost) freely switch between them for the rest of the story to fit your playstyle or use their unique abilities for puzzles and shit
You really don't need much more and everyone is happy.

>co-op mode like DMC3
>a Bloody Palace version for co-op (Demon Palace?)

I love DMC3 Dante's design

The only thing canon from the anime is that we will never get a TTGL-tier Dante vs Vergil fight

Perfect.
Vergil and Lady as unlockables for a crazy 4 players co-op mode where you fight massive horde of enemies. Multiplayer like never before.

Humans killed Kyrie or whatever his Gf is called
Done
Bad nero on the way

>Bad nero on the way

Co-op seems like it has a lot of potential though. People pull crazy shit with Doppelganger and that was with shared input, no style moves and with only short burst.

Bonus
youtube.com/watch?v=H_Lq4I6tzq8

the order of the sword huh

Multiplayer DMC4 should be on the switch

>DMC1's head
>DMC1 Torso
>DMC3 Coat
>DMC1/2 pants
>DMC1 boots

There, perfect.

Yes, but it's not important. You can skip it, and you won't miss anything by doing so.

Including the nipple straps?

Personally I think all of DMC2's outfit was a pretty sleek design, wish they'd reused it in DMC4

The continuity is actually very simple, even if the game order is weird.

>nipple straps
Genderbend DMC3 Dante was fucking legendary

DMC4's design was great all around though, if a bit too stylized and fabulous

But if Vergil was possessing Nero he shouldn't turn evil, because Vergil should absolutely not be the main antagonist of the next game.

Well, considering I'd use DMC1's torso I think the strap would be superfluous. So I'd have them removed, and perhaps some other details changed.

DMC 4's head/coat would be alright too, but I don't like the cowboy pants/boots. Overall I like 1 the most.

The actor who played Bail Organa in the prequels reprised his role in Rogue One

The prequels are canon, get over it

This, ignoring DMC2 it's basically
>Dante fights Vergil. Vergil jumps to hell, Dante get his dad's sword
>Dante get lured to fight Mundus, kill corrupted Vergil, combine the amulets that they have to get his dad's actual sword and beat Mundus
>Dante get involved in some crazy town and discover that he has a relative that may be his nephew, who get his waifu back from the antagonist

What about a Rashomon style DMC story where all the characters eventually run into each other multiple times during their respective stories, and then eventually collide at the end before teaming up to face the final boss?

This is literally Sonic Adventure but I don't care man I just want Vergil back
