Who was in the wrong here?

who was in the wrong here?

Who gives a fuck

Notch had no experience in the field of professional game development, so he knew nothing of the culture and how reactionary people tend to be before forgetting shortly after. He also had a habit of giving himself tons of time off and time to relax and not work, while everyone else he worked with was the average programmer/developer that worked 60+ hours a week and did little outside of that. If someone leaves, you just don't have time to acknowledge them anymore. Notch did not know this and I'm willing to bet that he considered all of them friends. Before minecraft, notch was pretty much a NEET living in the middle of nowhere, so that may have been the only group of friends he's had since school. It didn't help that he moved to another country, it's very easy to talk bad about someone when you know you will likely never see their face again.

Nobody is in the wrong, it cannot be helped.

OP, for posting social media screencaps.

Two year old ones, at that.

Haha fuck Notch pussyfooting bitch

this

Remember, he was one of us.

Didn't Notch say he felt isolated and lonely? So he's wrong

Hows does lonely mean hes wrong

It's not so much that they resented him for being lazy as for "selling out" as it were.

The game's meteoric rise to success in such a short span of time cultivated recklessness and irresponsibility, anyway. Early Mojang probably had a really cliquey startup culture replete with all of the expected drama.

No wonder Notch is so miserable. He's a gold-digging ho. How is someone supposed to spoil him if he has it all?

Boondocks had some fine-ass bitches.

>mfw that ass expansion episode
Newly discovered fetish

>he was one of us

No he wasn't.

I thought it was an ironic indiana jones profile pic at first but its actually him

>2 million kronor
>that's like 300k usd

wowo so generous!

>tfw no porn of the numerous hoes in Boondocks

Fat Indiana Jones is right

>2 million kroner

Isn't that like $20?

Is a 300k USD bonus shitty or something?

You need to understand that No-

Oh shit, you made my post for me. Thanks

Video Games

Yes he was. He would come here and get feedback from us to put into his game
before he "sold out" and started doing the same thing to reddit

>No he wasn't.
I disagree.

>300k after tax for free

I don't see the problem? Do you think he should have shared his money equally among them?

That's two years worth of salary for me, pretty fucking generous.

Nigger $300k USD post-tax is a huge sum of money. That's enough to buy a nice house and car outright and still have money in the bank to pile up interest.

Isn't that like 6 years pay after tax? That's not a bad bonus

>He would come here and shill here

Fixed for you.

Minecraft is shit but Notch seems like a cool dude. I bet he shitposts on Sup Forums still.

you have to understand Notch probably payed like 800 million in taxes so he doesn't have that much left

>and still have money in the bank to pile up interest.

Yeah, that 0.1% interest rate really makes a difference!

And you know this how?

>make a little game and get rich as fuck
oh what a lucky g-
>in sweden, where the government takes it all
poor lad

It's not shilling if he actually took our feedback silly goose. That's like saying those indie dev generals are shilling.

Nigga just wanted to make a better game and asked us for advice

He also outbid Beyonce and JayZ on a Malibu megamansion. That certainly wasn't cheap.

The funny part is he spends all his time in it alone because he's such a huge faggot that no one wants to be his friend even after he became a billionaire.

Maybe your local shitshack of bank has 0.1 percent. When you have that amount of money you do not use your local town bank. Even the credit union in my city has high yield accounts for high balance savings.

He didn't take our feedback. He even stopped posting on Sup Forums altogether and moved to reddit because he got butthurt that we didn't suck his dick enough for his liking.

>That time Notch tweeted about his armpit fetish

I gained some respect for him. He also blows people the fuck out on twitter constantly. He's living the dream.

He lives in burgerland tho, land of the massive tax cuts for the rich

swede taxes

But he did it up until he went to reddit. Like I just told you.

>he would come here for feedback
And before that he was just some discontent user in the sea of assholes.

You clearly don't remember anything or were not there. Minecraft threads were a thing even after he left and, at that point, the only hate was notch's obsession with vacations and wasted potential. There were lots of threads simply discussing the game during and after his time here. FLAOT wasn't just a meme.

That reminds me
>RIP FLAOTANON

I mean if the dream is "being clinically depressed and being unable to parse his newfound wealth and fame in any meaningful way" then good on him.

Go to bed, Notch

I'm pretty sure Twitter.

Rich people only get tax cuts if they hire an accountant that's smart enough to take advantage of all the available tax loopholes. Knowing Notch he'd probably hire someone that would run off to Thailand after embezzling all his money.

Who was in the wrong here?

It's better than "being clinically depressed and being unable to accrue any sort of meaningful wealth" though

He's living the NEET dream at least.

alucard

The potion seller

...

divided between how many employees? also bonuses are taxed like any other income. i'd be jealous too if i worked in a small office on a game that makes millions and watch the boss take the money and go.

That's why after all these years he's so drained out that he still lives in a malibu house

Joke's on you, my favorite hoe is getting r34 treatment on a semi-regular basis.

>It's better than "being clinically depressed and being unable to accrue any sort of meaningful wealth" though

Is it, though? At least a poor person can still dream about what life would be like if he were rich. Notch literally has it all, and he's still just a miserable, fat fuck with no friends and no contribution to civilization other than an autistic cube game. He has to look in the mirror every single day and be reminded that this is it. This is all he is and ever will be.

Divided between zero. It was two million kronor each.

That was per person. Each person got that AFTER taxes. Multiply that by the amount of employees and add 30% and that's how much money he gave away.

He's relatively young to be at a stage where you can stop worrying about money or other successes. If "using your money in a meaningful way" is your concern, having a good 40-50 years ahead of you to figure t hat out is more than enough.

>Notch did not know this and I'm willing to bet that he considered all of them friends.

no wonder he wants to kill himself

I'd rather be a depressed rich person than be a depressed and desperate poor person. I'm fine with being sad and not having real problems, and not-so keen on the being sad while trying to pay rent and put food on the table.

>dividing
>by zero
nigga wtf man

>is being sad and having stuff better than being sad and wanting stuff?
Yes. I've done both and having stuff is definitely better.

Stop trying to derail the thread, you could read and understand what I posted. It wasn't divided between any employees. How else would you express an amount being divided amongst nothing.

He's young in human years, but he's like 3 times as old in fat people years.

If you're having trouble paying rent and buying food then the problem is your terrible financial skills, not how much money you make.

If you have an internet connection, a computer, and the free time to spend your Tuesday night shitposting on a Taiwanese calligraphy board then chances are you're not even poor, just a gigantic whiner.

Lighten up

>by zero
BETWEEN zero you mongoloid

Drop me some artist recs, my man

>How else would you express an amount being divided amongst nothing.

Divided by one

Divided by one. Each one employee got that amount, so that amount is divided by one.
Stop skipping school.

>we are closer to 2030 than 2000

hold me Sup Forumsros

>At least a poor person can still dream about what life would be like if he were rich
was what I was arguing against. We weren't talking about whether or not money makes you miserable. We were talking about whether it was better to be miserable and rich or miserable and poor

if you don't have anything to contribute then shut up

Oh now I understand, it was separated between no people.

someday soon we really will be grumpy old men of the internet

You divide by infinity

Divided by one would've meant that he 300k went to only one employee while others got nothing.

yup
the government ate it all

You for not only posting a tweet but one that's over qw mfoewmoi NIGGERS! TRUMP! KEKKEKKEKKEK BIG BLACK COCK LMAO!

That would imply one employee got bonus and everyone else nothing, do you understand maths? Are schools in burgerland this pitiful?

>man makes $2B USD with his team
>leaves them behind after the deal is finalized
>gives them all $200k USD each
>fucks off to California with $1.99B USD

>"what?! What I do?! You should be thanking me, you ingrates! Work the rest of your lives without me, you scum!"

Two of us can hold you while others sodomize you. Would that be ok, buddy?

>It's not shilling if he actually took our feedback

Exactly.

Yes. That's right. Now you're getting it. He gave the 300k to one employee.
He gave multiple sums of 300k to each single employee.

He could give nothing like most CEOs do

>be a literal billionaire
>able to spend the money on pointless frivolous shit
>still unhappy and completely miserable
>just goes on twitter all day and sits in his mansion, doing nothing

Truly there is no way out for anyone, is there?

As opposed to dividing between zero?
One employee DID get 300k. That says nothing of what the others got, he asked how many the 300 was divided by, the answer is 1.

>2 million kroner after tax
>could give everyone he knows 10 million USD and still be the richest game developer on the planet
fucking jews, hitler was right

>a grown ass man using the "

Easy when you don't know anyone.

They wouldn't expect thanks afterward, at least.

The guy was talking about 300k as if it was the whole sum for all of them, so, no, that's not correct. Dividing by 0 meant that there was no division.

You make $150k a year? Do you live in San Francisco or something?

>get an impossible amount of money
>doesnt give anyone he knows or had worked with shit
>gives one guy 300k, literal chump change to Notch

fuck kikes desu

He didn't give it to just that guy, he divided it between all 0 of the staff

It would have to be more than that when you include taxes.

Between Notch's idiotic predicament of a life and the division by/between zero argument,

WHAT A MISERABLE LITTLE THREAD WE'RE HAVING, BOYS.

Goes to show you money can't buy everyone happiness. This fat idiot just stays inside all day shitposting. What matters more is having ambition or actual interests beyond eating yourself into an early grave.

the point is, and I think they see it this way too, is that he could have afforded to reward them with something a bit more substantial considering the massive sum he got. I mean, he payed 70m just for a place to plop his ass down in America and another 1m for the visa to get in without waiting.

>One guy

Fuck off with your retarded shitposting cunt. He says in the tweet that only 3 people thanked him so obviously he couldn't have just given it to 1 employee

Fucking retarded ass reddit faggot.

Damn...

I think people forget that money does not buy happiness. With all his money, it's hard to see who's trying to be your friend and who isn't. The naturally rich people don't want him around because he's not born from wealth nor did he have some prestigious type of sophisticated job and those that aren't rich likely will only see him as a potential gibmedat atm machine.
