Both the samurai and twilight missions are kicking my ass. Should I level and get better gear? I need to finish the Twilight mission to get all the rewards right?
Where my conqueror bros at? Only reply if you killed Onryoki and Nue in the alpha, killed Munechige Tachibana and Hino-enma in the beta, and the Ogress in the final beta.
True conquerors (completed every Twilight mission in both betas) post words of wisdom.
I just killed the Ogress, fun boss, but the easiest so far, between all the alpha and betas. The stage was cool, but kinda short as well compared to the previous ones. Can't wait for the final game.
Leveling up is always a good thing in any Souls games, if you're having real trouble. Find a weapon you get really comfortable with, learn how to dodge, observe the enemies' attacks, react accordingly, don't rush, play the safe game.
Who else helping shitters? So far I got 34 people their marks
>game tells me I unlocked both marks
>won't let me download conqueror
Fuck I missed both betas, if I get cucked out of the mark now I'll be pretty miffed.
Why? Let them learn the game the hard way.
Can someone explain special effects like:
Mid attack break
and parry???
Anyone? What stats should I go for if I want to use a single katana?
>The stage was cool, but kinda short as well compared to the previous ones.
This was most disappointing with the demo. The beach level and even the mountain level was lengthier and it was tougher to reach shrines.
Anyone else getting this message when trying to download Mark of the Conqueror? They better fix this shit...
Alternatively you can cheese samurai man to grind out his armour / weapon which are both really good. In ninjutsuu tree near the bottom is bar-hand parrying. In onimyo tree get carnage and bear-hand up talismins. Just bare-hand up is enough to do 90+% of his health with a bare-handed parry. It might take a few tries to get the parrying window down though.
Was gonna go 2kat for release but after seeing the nin stuff I'm interested in dex. Is ninjustu stuff like hunter tools in Bloodborne?
Where do i get the ninja armor from?
I get them to think the game is easy
Then they have to suffer through the side mission all alone
if you played the other demos and have the marks it wont let you download them
HOW THE FUCK DO I BEAT THIS GUY
HOLY SHIT
I wouldn't brag about beating ogress. You can literally avoid all but one of her attacks by running straight at her. Even her spaz out spam combo doesn't hit at point blank range.
''The Mark of the Conquerer and Mark of the Strong DLC will be given for finishing the Twilight Mission.'' A lot of people got both marks for beating the ogress on NORMAL so it's not working as intended. they probably fixed the issue
dodge like a pussy and sting like a fag
>I have unlocked mark of the conquerer three times now
>not being a spiritmaster
the most fun build in the game, by far
So what makes kappas spawn?
Nobody cares faggot how hardcur you are
Put on a fucking trip and your PSN so normal people can filter your dumbass
>tfw you're a super ultra conqueror
Tryhard method
>Spend hours praying to RNGesus until you luck up and manage to defeat him or you find a cheap gimmick to win. Me? I tripped him over and over
Standard Method
>Follow the path of least resistance. Re do the mission over and over until you are geared up, leveled up and have enough skills/items to make the fight fair.
You have to lure them with your butthole
reposting from other thread
You need at least 20 hours before you can judge the gameplay and in those 20 hours, you better hope to god you try your best.
Why 20 hours? 15 hours to realize this is not dark souls, 5 hours to learn all the ins and outs and customize your combos.
All said and done, I had the same idea as you going into the beta. The game was boring to play until I understood IT IS NOT DARK SOULS and I should be using all the tools provided for me. Like killing other players phantoms to get better gear, heavily using combos, unlocking skills that are only related to a weapon I already like and applying magic shit into my game. Although the beta ran for like two weeks, so I was lucky and had a change of hearts about Nioh. I wish that you see my results in two weeks happen to you in two days because I admit, the game sucks big time at first but only because it is complex. Once you unravel it and stick to 1 or 3 weapons, you start playing the real Nioh. The beta was so good, I dropped dark souls 3 right then and there. Not a fucking chance I touch that shit again and I fucking love dark souls.
Give this a chance if you can and good luck!
TL;DR: The game is kinda shit at the start but only because the possibilities are endless!
Learn the ranges of all his attacks. The only annoying thing is you deal 1/infinity damage to him at low level.
>Finally reach Ogress after dying over and over in the first stage
>Get 2-shot immediately
>Come check Nioh threads
>See a webm of some guy literally punching her to death while naked
I remember sucking at Ninja Gaiden but I don't remember being this bad...
A lot of people are complaining about the small arena for the fight but I didn't really have a problem with that. The whole fight was a learning challenge to pretty much force you into mid range.
My problem with the fight was the flowers. When she summons them its such a small area that you can just drag her out into an area without them. I think they should make it a hard ki check where every inch of the arena is covered and if you don't ambiently ki pulse. You just die.
>they nerfed unlimited ninjutsu bonus in gears so hard it becomes a waste of space to have
no fun allowed
Don't feel bad, just strafe left and low stance dodge whenever she does her leaping attack and she's a cakewalk.
>missed first beta, fucked around too much second; tried to get rushed through before the end and all the people summoned were shitters(like me) who got carried through the demo
And this one is only 24 hours, and I have work tonight. Sufferring...
>some people work on the weekends, have social obligations
But most of us are shitters. Still, help would be appreciated.
Why are you talking about Ninja Gaiden? This is a souls-like
I really hope the toned down difficulty isn't indicative of the final release. I thought the beta was pretty much perfect, the alpha a bit too unforgiving but this last chance trial was too short and too simple, even Shiggy seemed like he did a lot less damage.
This game is hard.
I think I've died at least 400 times over 4 hours in the first section alone.
Dying in two/three hits is the definition of fun these days?
I'm not, I'm bragging that I finished the alpha and both betas.
I tried the demo for a little bit but it all seems so overwhelming. Seems like a fun game but I'll probably pass on it for that reason alone.
I get the feeling that the secondary support mechanics are going to bust the main game (spirits/magic/mines/onepunchman).
I do like me some cheese though.
I used the reincarnation book and I lost all my magic points and I didn't get my 10 points magic book back
Is it normal?
Put one point into spirit, and use the ox, get the devigorate talisman and you'll never die
magic cheese is the best, though. Pre-patch Iron Flesh is DS was 10/10
I think the game is much easier to grasp if you have played Souls games without summoning and Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2. Every fight in this game is essentially a Ninja Gaiden fight with some Souls mechanics.
On the whole this game is a lot more fair than what it used to be. Outside of Axe Oni and the big Ogre fucks, no one can really kill you in one hit. Usually takes 2-3 and you have ample curatives and checkpoints.
The first demo they did was a ball breaker with common mooks one shotting you until you pumped your HP stat
You're at the grassy hilltop when suddenly you encounter this guy who announces IZA, JINJOU NI SHOBU
What do you do? Keep in mind he fires three arrows at once and has an electric dog.
Any tips for the Twilight mission? I finally beat the first one and I am absolutely getting my shit pushed in at the start of the Twilight one.
I need to learn how to dodge properly, but my damage feels pretty pitiful on the first red demon at the start. I don't know if I should be factoring in my gear here at all or what.
I beat her on normal and received both marks yet was only able to download Mark of the Strong.
YYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Do you get anything for beating that boss mission and the twilight?
I liked that boss fight, despite how easy it was. I'm not sure if the easiness stems from familiarity with the system or if she's just a pushover compared to the previous bosses.
I'm also liking the Kusarigama a lot. Played with a guy who was using an axe when I was helping others out, and the two weapons make for a good combo on two players. He'd go in with a heavy attack and fuck things up, then I'd follow with the low stance spam combo for the finish while he recovered. Plus it's letting me delve quite a bit into the Ninjutsu tree, which is always nice.
I'm away from home this month so I can't play the demo. Have they changed anything since the previous demo? Did they give in to the cries to make it easier?
I thought the arena was fine and the boss had tons of openings, even if you were far away from her. That flamespray is basically five free hits to her back, the grab has a huge tell, the jump is easy to dodge (you can fuck it up, though, because of lock-on), the flurry can be easily dodged as well.
What do the flowers do, by the way? Just summon yokai realms or something? I didn't even notice their effects.
>Game takes place during the Warring States Period
>I'm supposed to believe the war between the Tokugawa and everyone else is still going on when there's literal demons all over the place
>his face when naked white gaijin one-shots him
commit harakiri
I don't have a PS4. What's the general consensus so far?
When Ogress charges you gotta doge under her left hand, going right will get you hit. As long as you stay close as possible, like half your body clipping into her close, she literally can't damage you.
> this game used to be harder!
> you still die in 2-3 hits though lol
fuck demon's souls and fuck whoever invented this shitty "masocore" genre
Imagine a worse Souls game in terms of enemy design where everyone is the worst incarnation of an FPS bullet sponge you can imagine, with Diablo loot.
>work on weekends
>somehow this means I need to have my hand held through the level
???
You can learn the intricacies of the combat system and finish the ogress in 3~ hours. The munechige sidequest in half an hour, presuming you're dying again and again. The twilight mission is harder, yes, but it's for those that mastered the combat, not a "Get your DLC easily" Card. If you wanted to easily have that, you should have played the alpha and beta.
Summoning should have been prohibited for the first playthrough in every Souls and Souls-like games, by the way. Maybe Team Ninja should have added a Inu-Samurai mode, similar to Ninja Dog in Ninja Gaiden games for you shitters.
How do you respec?
You have to consider that not only was this boss a bit easier, you're more skilled if you've played all of the alpha and betas. The alpha was much more unforgiving, so if you have played that one to completion (killed Nue), it obviously means the full game will be easier. Twilight missions, hopefully, will give you the challenge you want.
...
What other western weapons would we get?
I saw a great sword in one of the trailers.
10k gold blacksmith item on the world map
Theres a lot less changes between beta and newest one compared to changes between alpha and beta. It doesn't seem like they toned anything down in particular overall though the newest boss is the easiest of the 3 by a lot. One of the bigger changes is all stances can now get ki recovery on dash though it has to be unlocked.
Book of recarnation drops near end of the twilight mission (where key drops in non twilight) or can be bought from the blacksmith though cost ramps (10k first time, 30k second, 100k third etc.).
does heavy armor affect stamina recovery? I'm always out of stamina
Ogress mask in the final game for Ogress boss. Mark of the Conqueror and the other Mark whose name I forgot if you complete the Twilight version of the mission.
Bullshit, outside of Muneshitgay
I can't seem to summon anyone, even though I have the RAGE password.
The game is like if someone took Dark Souls, Ninja Gaiden and Diablo to a Japanese style blender and mixed the fuck out of them. Which is to say it's really good. People compare it to DS a lot because it is heavily influenced by it with the one major difference being that this game is level based. Though each level is about the size of an area in DS.
But I like the game. I just recognize the shit in it too.
Calm yourself, user.
That's pretty much my thoughts on the subject. The alpha being unforgiving really forced players into getting better if they wanted to get through the two boss fights by themselves.
Has anyone tested the second option on the multiplayer bit? The first one makes it insanely easy for me to carry shitters due to my being able to revive them if they die, as opposed to the stage automatically ending. I'm curious as to whether or not the second option is more like the summons of the alpha and beta, however, if that's the case, why would someone ever choose it? My guess is that the multiplier for rewards is increased, to make it more appealing.
Heavier armour means more ki usage.
dumps in stamina/somewhat in str reduces that load.
*tips fedora*
But in all honesty, it's not hard or anything of merit to beat all the bosses, including Shiggy. You still bring nothing of substance to this world, and the people in your life are justified in shunning you.
The skill trees seem feature complete now. They're bigger than they were in the previous beta and certainly MUCH bigger than they were in the alpha. They added the Kusari-gama weapon. Other than that and the fact you play in a new stage that has a new boss, it's pretty much the same.
I didn't get the mask when I beat her, only the option to download the marks I already had.
And the combat system is way different
Wait, don't I get Ogress Mask DLC when I finish the mission, or did I misunderstand something?
I'm being retarded. Help me out here.
same
So I got to the ogress on the twillight mission and haven't played since because I already beat her on the other mission and afaik the rewards aren't worth it. Are they?
Give me an example of what you would consider challenge done right. Cause Contra was way more punishing
Pretty much yeah just opens the yokai jams. it fucks you if you dont have awarenes
>he doesn't like Yokais
>he doesn't like japanese folklore
Seppuku yourself, my man.
>only found two pieces of the Youngbloods set
This is going to take forever.
I very much like them, just not some of the behind the scenes things. In terms of visual design I love this game.
Damn, that's pretty accurate.
They weaponized demons
>missed first alpha
Reading comprehension
>admitted I fucked around on the beta
Sorry man, I don't have the time in the small windows they have provided to master this game like you have. I am not a souls player, so this is all new to me. I don't want to miss out on exclusive items / cheevos' just because I do not have the free time to get them like some people do.
We'll just have to disagree on why or why not this necessitates assistance. But I appreciate your response.
Mace probably
>you can change the looks of equipped weapon and armor in the Blacksmith shop
My dick is diamonds. I can't fucking wait for the full game. Why doesn't Souls games let me do this?
I really like that they have characters speaking their native language.
Wonder if you'll run into any dutch or portuguese speaking minor NPCs.
The previous beta had a couple dead english dudes laying on the beach.
wtf where is the blacksmith shop?
So invaders know what equipment you're using.
>all stances can now get ki recovery on dash though it has to be unlocked.
Is it a Ninjutsu skill or a weapon skill? I didn't see it on the lists.
I don't think you have to download anything for that one. It'll be in a menu in the final game. At least I hope so.
No matter what it turns out to be, The Mark of the Conqueror is significant.
Before I say why I need to divide the Souls community into two general groups - Conquerors and Conquered - and quickly define both.
Both have basically been around since Demon's Souls, but the very nature of the Conquered demands that the Conquerors come first. Why? Because Conquers beat the path and light the way. Afterward, like mold or a rot, the Conquered seep into the community, ever at the heels of the Conquerors.
How is that? Either by a lack of information upon release or due to a self-imposed restriction, the Conqueror goes in blind. Conquerors embrace the challenge From Software has extended with each release in their Souls/Bloodborne Series while the Conquered abhor it. While Conquerors scratched and clawed their way through levels and boss fights, the Conquered poured over FAQs, Strategy Guides, Wiki Articles, Google Search Results, Let's Plays and How to Videos.
Therefore the Conquered subsist by virtue of the illumination spread over From's games by the Conquerors, entirely dependent on it. Overtime they've let themselves forget this, fancying themselves old hands as they bring their borrowed knowledge and tactics to bear on each successive release.
And then here comes f***ing Nioh, reminding the Conquered who they really are. And with little to no documentation in sight they hide behind s***posts so they can cling to that "gud" status they worked so hard to attain. Eventually they'll be back. Once the Conquerors have shown the way, that is.
And that's why The Mark of the Conqueror is significant. No matter how superficial, uselessly cosmetic or quickly outclassed it is, it still says I'm not . No, I'm a Conqueror.
It's another Team Ninja IP like Nioh.
I wonder if we will get a weapon that parallels each of the existing weapons. Mace for axe, great sword for hammer, maybe a long sword for katana and dual daggers for 2kat. The only one I can't really think of a replacement for is the kusarigama.
It's what this game should have been like.
PVP going to be interesting in this.
>Guy in all light armor, it's actually heavy armor.
>Guy with lightning sword, it's actually a water sword
