The Wii really damaged this industry.
If Nintendo didn't open the floodgates to cancer like this and just made a conventional console we would be better off.
Also, Nintendo is responsible for PlayStation directly.
But they also saved this industry from a crash.
Post 2006 nintendo has been nothing but a cancer, but everything before has been great.
>The Wii really damaged this industry.
No
it wouldn't make a difference because people just don't care about nintendo
The Industry would be better off without their hardware.
As a business Nintendo is cancer, but their developers are undeniably talented.
The only thing that comes out of that company that isn't hot garbage is their games.
Going multiplatform would do nothing but benefit this industry.
one of the big 3 dying at this point would just speed up a crash
it wouldn't be better or worse, just faster
Yeah it did.
It poisoned nintendo's mindset toward video games.
Instead of a new Metroid or F-Zero, you'll get this.
lol
The industry would perfect if you got rid of Microsoft. Just have Nintendo, Sony and PC.
Nintendo saved the Vidya industry in the early 1980s so without them it wouldn't exist or be even shittier.
And before you call me a Nintendrobe I own and enjoy all the Consoles, even my Netflix and Hulu Xbox machineh
If you want to play Metroid or F Zero, play Metroid or F Zero. Don't know what to tell you man.
If you want a game company that makes a better version of the same game every year, then try Ubisoft.
the only thing wrong with a tech demo game is that it isn't bundled with the console, though. that shit isn't replacing anything, the franchises you're mourning are just already dead.
This thread reminds me of all the protests going on today. Nintendo must be doing something right to be the focus of so many hipsters and contrarians.
As long as they didn't make games for other platforms, companies like Sony would force them to chop up their games into season passes.
You are cancer.
The industry would have been at the risk of death and without a savior.
More then once actually.
There would be no significant videogame industry today.
>Kick started the home console industry for children with their first console which developed healthy competition almost different platforms
>Saved the crashing industry later by rebranding videogames as toys
and so on and so forth...
You're retarded if that how you think Season Passes work.
Those are completely up to the publisher.
Enjoy Assassin's Creed 15. I heard they added 15 more relics to collect over last time.
You may not like them now, but they were a huge benefactor in the history of video games
It's not entirely that simple. They have the right idea but their greed has lead to very poor execution.
There's a reason Nintendo won't just make another black box and that's because it's already become it's own niche. With mobile and handhelds already seriously competing with consoles the last thing you want to do is become another black box and oversaturate the market. You need to offer something the competition can't and that's what Nintendo has been trying to do. But went full retard by not bundling the ethernet port, pro controller, and not offering free online.
Enjoy your endless Mario Tennis and Golf games, and Mario Party 11.
oh and endless Pokemon remakes.
Nintendo is guilty of the exact same thing.
It's not even remotely close. There are the same number of Assassins's Creed Games as there are Super Mario games. That is counting Super Mario Run too.
Nobody is defending Assassin's Creed, faggot.
Yeah it is.
nah
The 'industry' would be better off without being an industry.
Not an argument
>Le they should do it for the love, not the money meme.
it's literally a Subway commercial you mong
If you fired all the suits who ram 50% of development budget into marketing the games would not only be better, but also cheaper to make for companies and normies would fuck off.
My ideal industry is Nintendo consoles dying and Nintendo making games for Sony. Then Xbox staying just relevant enough so Sony doesn't go nuts with prices, but all Xbox exclusives are garbage and normie shit so I don't have to buy one
No more waggle and gimmick garbage and a half decent price for them exclusives
yah
>The industry would be better if it was stillborn
No.
If you mean Wii-era Nintendo yes.
I just want them to go third party. They seem to really struggle competing on the hardware side of things, and at some point in my life I'd like to play a Nintendo game at 1080p/4K that isn't emulated.
Kek, every fucking thread
Say it with me: NEVER EVER
Get fucked, sonygger, enjoy your mainstream AAA muh graphix trash
