I'm about to go to New Game+ on Witcher 3 (doing it on Blood & Broken Bones difficulty this time), and I have one thing to ask.
In my first playthrough, there are three major fuck ups I've committed that I want to prevent this time around. Trusting the Plague Maiden, trusting the tree spirit, and trying to romance Yen and Triss at the same time. But should I have Ciri become Empress or a Witcher? I did the former the first time (mostly by accident), and it seemed like the better option because of the whole greater good thing.
Witcher 3 Decisions Thread
do the opposite of whatever you did the first time and just see what happens. play the game once for your "canon play through" and play it again and fuck with it.
Snowball fight, let her wreck the room, don't see the mages with her and don't take the fucking money you twat.
>trusting the tree spirit
>major fuck up
Nah. The kids were saved. The only ones who die are a wife-beating cuckold, a whore who cheated on her husband, and a village of Crone worshipers.
Witcher Ciri is the best ending where she is happiest.
Empress Ciri causes her to become depressed, the epilogue explains that she shows no interest or effort in the role and just spends empire money on random shit.
Emhyr ends up disinheriting her.
Fuck that shit, make her a Witcher. Do you seriously think Ciri wants to be an empress? No, she wants to be free.
You save the kids but at the cost of releasing a horrible evil that will do far more harm. It is not the right decision and the way it concludes is very obviously meant to tell you that you blew it.
So a village of people and the ruler of a town are less important than a few kids?
>think Yennifer is a bitch
>romance Triss and plan to leave Yen on the sidelines
>eventually start feeling a little sorry for her
>romance her
>get the "threesome" scene
Man, fuck women.
Was the Witcher 3 your first entry into the series? Otherwise you would realize Triss is far worse.
She was nice in two and three, and even the revelation that she's manipulative didn't put as sour taste compared to Yen's general attitude.
real men pick yen. triss is just waifu bait.
I'll probably buy the game soon, is there a mod to make the ennemies less sword sponges ? Something that would make you weaker too to balance.
>pick the bossy ice queen who gets mad at you for sleeping with someone else while you had amnesia
>real men
Sorry but no, if you pick Yen you are a little bitch who wants to be treated like a little bitch by bitchy women. And you know what? If that's what you're into, more power to you. But don't go around trying to sell this "real men" bullshit.
You guys do know that there is a way to free the spirit and keep the Baron and his wife alive right? All you have to do is find and complete the quest before the Crones ask Geralt to do it. The only consequence will be the village being wiped out
>real men pick the dominating woman who you can't control and walks all over you
I never got that meme
>romancing the chick who Cosby's Geralt
This never ceases to amaze me Triss is far more emotionally retarded then Geralt and only wants him cause hes Yen's
>Empress Ciri causes her to become depressed, the epilogue explains that she shows no interest or effort in the role and just spends empire money on random shit.
In Blood & Wine she's perfectly happy, she's just not sure if being Empress is what's right for her and she's not spending money on random shit, she's in Toussaint to learn about Nilfgaard's lands and to see Geralt. I have no idea where you get "she's depressed" from.
>Emhyr ends up disinheriting her.
She also tells you that Emhyr is the happiest he's been in years because he's sick of being Emperor and is glad he finally has somebody to pass the throne to.
>romancing the chick who Cosby's Geralt
That's hot.
Yeah, those are the immediate consequences. But you're ignoring the fact that aiding the tree spirit unleashes an immense evil into the world that will do nothing but fuck shit up. Its daughters (the Crones) literally imprisoned it so it wouldn't ruin the whole goddamn world.
Man i really wish emhyr played a larger role in game. His character was so interesting.
Though he's an even bigger fuck off you read the books.
>Marries ciris mother for the sole purpose of breaking a curse and gaining a claim on cintra
>Basically ignored her after that and shows no remorse when she dies
>Backstabs cintra and leaves his mother in law no choice but to commit suicide or be captured by an invading army
On that note i absolutely loved the flashback scene when geralt first finds ciri and i recognized it as a scene (one of the best) from the books
>Do you seriously think Ciri wants to be rich, powerful, secure, shape history, help the people and improve the future? No, she wants to be infertile and insignificant.
That's how retarded you sound, jackass.
*He's an even bigger dick
You might think it's dumb on her part but it's objectively true according to the way the game is written. Blame Ciri, not me.
Though in reality there are some people who really are happier without all that shit. You should try actually reading some philosophy sometime.
Ciri says she wants a simple life near the end of the game. When you're helping her tend to some final business and she helps out the traveling circus elves. She and Geralt are sitting around the fire and she says something to the effect of wanting to live a quiet normal life like everyone else.
>You might think it's dumb on her part but it's objectively true according to the way the game is written. Blame Ciri, not me.
Which is why I'm glad Geralt can slap some reason into her. The way I see it, in time she will look back and be grateful to Geralt.
>You should try actually reading some philosophy sometime
Perhaps I would if it was philosophy, and NOT some pile of pathetic rationalizations.
Not the user you're replying to, but that makes it all the more retarded that the only thing that makes her choose to be empress by the end is meeting with emhyr. one meeting with an overbearing tyrant of a father influences her decision to ignore all the humble teachings of geralt and instead leave him in the dirt to go on some power trip
ciri comes across as a big ball of conflicting emotions in the game. i loved the story but she was one of the weakest characters in it imo
>Ciri says she wants a simple life
Ciri was not born as a normal person. She's a daughter of the Emperor and has a magical gift unlike anyone. Therefore, she can't live a normal life even she wants to. And if she actually lived a normal life before, she would desire the opposite.
>all these retards who completely missed Ciris story arc in the books and W3
You deserve worst dad ending if you actually think Empress is canon.
>says the retard who implies that the Witcher games are canon in the first place
Games are different than the books.
>perhaps I would read philosophy if it was philosophy
