Kaede was heavily advertised to be the player character, so a lot of people (not including waifufags) are upset that instead of playing as a cute piano-baka girl we end up playing as a more insecure, timid version of Makoto, minus the love for hope.

I don't even wanna get into the hot mess that is the final chapter's plot twist.

Everything is shit. May as well play actual shitty games to top it off like me.

I mean, I liked Kaede's design, and I'm sad that she died, but, I mean, killing the protagonist was a twist that DR hadn't done yet. I don't know why people felt so entitled to playing as her. Plot twists like that are pretty fair game in this genre.

Also I know the ending, and yes, it's shit. But that's not gonna stop me from enjoying the rest of the game, which, from what I've heard, was pretty enjoyable.

Kaede's death would be fine if it wasn't so fucking pointless and if you didn't play as Shuichi as a result.

It's not like I'm glad we're not playing as her, but I'm pretty ambivalent about the protag switch. It could have not happened and it would have made no difference to me

Ibuki is not bad, but hardly a great character. Hiyoko is by far the most hatred character of the DR2 cast because of her annoying aggresive attitude. She may not be a bad character, but a dislikeable character indeed

Akane is not a likeable character, yet her hatred is not as big as Hiyoko's. The difference is that Hiyoko, despite her hatred, got way more fans than Akane (lot of them lolicons and bully-kuns).

I've been following the /dgr/ thread very closely during the wild ride when it was discovered everything was a reality show. Still, lot of holes and misinformations (Lot of people say that Ouma was inside the game for charity)

Most conversation in on /drg/ it's pretty crazy half are shipping husbando/waifu conversations others are talking about the game such as the ending and plot points etc.

he can't into overarching plots, that's why chapter 6 of every game is one of the worst.

His bad writing was harmless in previous games. It was just a silly ending but nothing more.

V3 was a whole new level of BAD, though. Like, I think Uchikoshi told him "bet you can't make an ending worse than mine" and he was like "lmao try me"

I wasn't going to even try V3 after that awful DR3 ending, but I said "oh well, might as well. It's a new universe, a new story, a new setting... surely it will be better now that the series is soft rebooting"

And then nope. More LE JUNKO XD and spoilers upon spoilers from the previous games. Killing off Kaede and replacing her with an even more unlikeable protagonist than Makoto.

Fuck this game, fuck this franchise, fuck Kodaka, but more specially fuck me for being such a dumb fool with high hopes.
