It's a really basic story, mechanics are so simple they're boring, puzzles are easy, bosses are all very formulaic
I just really can't get into them
I understand that if someone was into the world/setting/feel of it, they could get lost in those games, but I fucking hate them

Wouldn't PC Master race be more inclined to buy Nintendo products? Personally speaking, all the games I want to play are multiplat and can be run better on my PC, so complimenting it with a Nintendo console and their exclusives is perfect.

How many of the things I listed does it do?

- Completely non-linear, Aonuma said you could ignore the story or run straight to the final boss if you wanted to
- Multitude of different weapons instead of just a sword
- Enemies do 7 hearts or more of damage
- Can't get hearts or rupees from grass, have to cook or trade
- New movement options like climbing anything, jumping, shield surfing, paragliding
- Physics engine that directly affects puzzles and the environment
- You can solve puzzles in multiple ways instead of 1 set way

I don't see why I need a wiiU or Switch, though. Even if I wanted their exclusives, I can just CEMU them.

It has some of the most challenging puzzles and least formulaic bosses of the series

the story isn't exactly complex (it was a SNES game and not FF) and will take a bit to get to the really interesting mechanics, but by the end I think you'll find it was all worth it

Your general point is right, but the NES is a bad example, since those games existed as Famicom carts for several years already. The Famicom launched with 3 games in 1983, with only 6 more games in the rest of 1983.
