We hate this game because instead of going "yeah, we fucked up with ME3. This is a hard reboot" they used some dumb handwaving to get you to Andromeda. The writing is still piss poor, there is nothing appealing about the characters, and the game has lost its original vision of being an homage to early space operas. The game has literally turned into an homage of Mass Effect.

They should have scrapped the universe and come up with another one

Bioware has been replaced by younger (and cheaper) developers who are willing to agree to whatever a giant corporation will request due to focus testing.
All of the big name talent that was at Bioware are gone and working on their own projects. Mass Effect is a fantastic universe that will sadly never be handed off to someone who is willing to treat it with respect.
