Tfw esports have legitimatized gaming and made it a respectable hobby

>tfw esports have legitimatized gaming and made it a respectable hobby

Bullshit. Esports is seldom recognized as a legitimate sport by the media or actual athletes. People who play games aren't as ridiculed as badly as they were in past years due to the hobby becoming mainstream, and it definitely has an audience, but people who aren't interested in it definitely don't put it in the same category as other hobbies or sports.

My father and uncles all tell me repeatedly that they get angry seeing videogames on ESPN.

>mfw there's professional poker, bowling, dart throwing on ESPN

>sports means athletes and physical activity beyond just moving your thumbs, user. You'll never convince me videogames are sports.
Personally I don't give a shit and they all know I hate sports in general. I guess they think I care about assfaggots because I'm the computer guy.

>Loads of money involved = its a sport

wew

I worked with eSports people for a blizzard event

Team china can go fuck themselves, jesus christ.

So fucking disgusting

And the goddamn ASSFAGGOTS players were disgusting, they literally treated me like a janitor when they spilled their half-eaten food on the carpet.

christ.

AWOOOO! Werewolf Jones!

cs in its current state is a joke because cheating is way too easy to do even at LAN events. its only going to hurt it in the long run.

CSGO is on TBS now. Lots of professional sports organizations have esports teams now. Detroit Renegades, for example. Rick Fox has his own team.

How much more can you talk out of your ass?

A regular top tier athlete makes the same amount in a year as these kids will in a lifetime lol.

Must suck having to put the same amount of time and effort and receive less than what you would get on a minimum wage job :)

no career ending injuries tho

>the salt from EVO SFV being on ESPN

>tfw I'm on a professional csgo team but no one will ever know

The amount of money we make is insane, more than 100k per year, and we aren't even t5.

why would the owner pay that much if you win nothing for him. does he take stream revenue?

athletes have less debilitating injuries than the general public

but what about poker?

...

Being a gay whore is more respectable than e-sports

who are the assfaggots in this context? or are you referring to the chinese

Isnt ESPN dying?

Dont they interview pro wrestlers on Sportscenter every week now?

Not exactly. Older people still get triggered seeing vidya on ESPN, but most normies see something like CSGO or Street Fighter on TV and treat it like whenever the spelling bee is on ESPN; it's something different and not that interesting to them, so they ignore it and watch something else

I miss vidya being a non legitimate hobby. Feels like it's just gone to shit

There were two divisions: Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch. The chinese team was for Overwatch.

Only asian team I liked was Thailand (aka Team Weedtime), the rest were fucking slobs, particularly china. Their desks were littered with garbage, half-drank sodas, candy, wrappers, redbull cans, scraps from catering; any sort of disgusting leftover you can think of.

The Heroes of the Storm rooms mostly kept to themselves, but when it came time to inspect the computers I recall one night when one team literally spilled curry on the floor and expected me to clean it up after they had overfilled the small garbage can and placed it on top...instead of walking 10 feet out of the room to a bigger communal trash can.

Aside from Thailand, Finland, and Sweden, these people are literally Eric Cartman from the WoW episode of South Park.

players are walking billboards for sponsors, if they hire a popular player, chances are they'll attract endemic and non endemic sponsors alike.

I want him to throatfuck me desu

yeah but you must be good looking
