Dead Space 4 when?

Series died with 3.
3 didn't sell 5 million copies so EA killed it.
3 wasn't that great anyway, 4 would have been even worse.
what exactly was wrong with 3?
only played the first one
You haven't played the other games and you want a 4th? Are you fucking retarded, OP?
When you and everyone else buys the trilogy and the DLCs
>Are you fucking retarded, OP?
He's not retarded, he's just autistic
I'm not OP, jesus christ calm down
I just want to know what 3 did wrong
Didn't Earth get eaten by the necromorph monster planet in the end or something?
I'm too tired to explain all its faults, just know that it's a good game, but isn't as good as the 1st. Dead Space 2 is the best as far as I'm concerned and if 3 just had a few changes, it could have easily surpassed it.
Probably, not that we'll ever find out because EA is retarded.
you've failed your mission EA drone, return to base
>Deadspace 1
Polished environment, satisfying combat, all round great action horror game
>Deadspace 2
far more action and setpiece orientated, but a great ride, less boss fights but overall better gameplay and visuals.
>Deadspace 3
Lacking the visual polish of the last two games and taking a stupid diversion towards weapon mods, the game becomes Army of Two with zombies.
If someone was going to make DS4, who would be the dream dev?
>Fromsoft
The have to make 3 first.

hopefully never now that EA "owns" it
I loved dead space 1 and I was damn good at it, I beat it and two on impossible and it was a great survival experience. People bitch about jumpscares but there's a grating anxiety in nearly every room.. gravity panels, twitchers, the ubermorph chasing you like fucking nemesis, your first brute fight, flying around in zero-g killing those ugly poison puffing cunts
and two sorta streamlined it, I enjoyed the sprawl a lot and the stalkers. was also more difficult because on my impossible run i wiped twice on that elevator boss so that was fun
never played 3, seems to be like evey EA take over where they add in "customization"; and make shit more cinematic than it needs to be. though the brethren moon was cool ill admit
Got rid of the majority of the horror elements
Ammo and supplies were far too plentiful even on the hardest mode
Stupid crafting system introduced
Characters were fucking stupid Seriously what the fuck Carver
Microtransactions everywhere
I've played Dead Space 1 and 2, and read about Dead Space 3, and the gist of it is that the series veered from being a horror game towards the typical third-person shooter. Dead Space 2 is noticeably more of shooter than the first game, and worse off because of it, and I assume the third game didn't buck the trend.
there we go, thanks
it doesn't really seem that bad as the usual EA fuckups though
>and visuals
I disagree.
First game has much more care put into the environment, assets and lighting.
They worked much more with dynamic shadows.
When I look through my DS2 screenshot folder everything looks like plastic with flat llgihting.
>Ammo and supplies were far too plentiful even on the hardest mode
So I just recently finished DS1 like last week for the first time and I constantly had ammo. So much so that I had to sell ammo constantly to make room and this was on hard.
Maybe it's easier with a mouse but I think people maybe look back on DS1 with too much fondness.
They had some cool ideas in 3, like how Player 1 and Player 2 would sometimes hear noises or dialogue that the other didn't, but it couldn't live up to the first two games.
Those were some good fucking games, too. Really solid titles. They were great at throwing the occasional curve ball for the people who got dulled by the jump scare bait and it really kept things tense.
Okay, you're not OP... but you are retarded.
1 was unique by making the player run around in a " big house " fix everything while dragged around by favours and your gf in a horror enviroment. weapons were cool industrial tools tho
2 went to the tube action game with nicoles dead gf element, but that was still right, they had pretty goddamn good sections ( metro, daycare, ishimura return). weapons became more of an enforment ones
3 went awful by keeping the tube sentiment, throwing the most annoying boss to your face in the first 15 minutes ( always regenerates his limbs), the graphics were late x360, so they held off everything they could to run on a 6 year old console ( and praise it how much they could resourcemine out of it ). You got a crew who you didnt even gave a shit. pointless and half baked minigames. your coop partner is a fucking whoever. the spacesuits were good but i disliked the military theme of the bases. ohh yes and THE FUCKING MICROTRANSACTIONS and the fucktard build your weapon, with universal ammo
I loved 1, 2 swapped some stuff but still managed to keep you hooked, 3 was a complete milking
Is Pandorum the closest we'll get to a Dead Space movie?
The only thing you really need to know about Dead Space 3 is that in the first like 5 minutes of the game you've got relationship drama, followed by Isaac being told to grab a machine and take cover from the terrorists throwing grenades at him.
This should tell you enough.
They sold that ending of the game as DLC. Everyone who played the base game will get the ending where Issac stopped the necromorphs forever and everything ends happily.
No, fuck this game. Aiming at limbs is fucking tedious and boring. Also, for large parts of DS2, I barely had any ammo to work with (on hard mode). Fuck this shit. Never again.
*machine gun, fuck.
Either way fuck Dead Space 3.
>The only thing I want you to know
Fixed that for you.
From a strict gameplay perspective:
>stasis nerfed
>plasma cutter / line gun nerfed
>monsters no longer get hitstunned
>3/4 of the craftable weapons are shit
>the other 1/4 are boring as fuck (i.e. the Chain Gun/Shotgun god combo)
>game relies of OOGA BOOGA horde waves than careful enemy placement and spawns
>frequently interrupted by pseudo-cutscenes where Isaac acts like a bitch and takes off his helmet like a dumbass
Is that DS1? It looks like total shit maxed out on my PC. How did you get it to look like that?
No, the massive shift in tone and design philosophy that takes place in the immediate beginning of the game says everything. It tells you EA has fully flesh-puppeted Visceral and that the talent behind the first two games is no longer in control.
The ship graveyard section is alright, but everything goes to shit once you land on the planet and realize the game is only going to get worse.
Also paid DLC resources.
Ambient occlusion and high resolution.
Also don't foce AA with drivers, it fucks shadows, inject smaa instead.
Isaac is absolutely beta for Ellie. He's too obsessed for her.
Carver had potential but he doesn't have a larger role. Worse part is that he isn't so hateful against Danik despite this guy murdering his wife and child.
Microtransactions
Not enough suits and most of them don't look good
Fighting human enemies is bland
Game isn't so scary, but DLC is he scariest part in the trilogy so it fixes the issue if you as me.
The side characters are not interesting at all despite them playing an important role.
Co-op multiplayer doesn't live up to potential. For example, Isaac could be in area A while Carver handles area B. But instead, they two can never leave any room unless they're together.
All characters are jackasses who should know better but they don't.
But I rate this game a 4.5/5. Great and underrated.
It didn't deserve the hate it got.
GIANT FREAKING MEAT MOONS, BITCH
I'll have to play around with it more then. I thought my memory was just poor and it always looked bad and I forgot.
Well, I would but I just remembered I gave up because running made Isaac clip into the floor for some reason so I gave up on trying to play it on PC.
Sound like you tried playing on above 60 FPS, this causes lots of physics bugs.
Cap framerate to 60 and there will be no problems at all.
No, he's not retarded. He's just autistic.
Good to know, thanks. I've been wanting to play it recently so I'll keep that in mind when I try again.
The dead space games are pretty comparable to the FEAR games in terms of quality
1 - great
2 - still good, a little different but still good
3 - pretty shit
Why doesn't EA remaster the trilogy?
>Something that I don't like means everything because I judge things on one aspect, like a child giving a 1/10 review on metacritic.
Fixed that for you.
>FEAR 2
>still good
Nope, it's flatout trash with zero redeeming qualities, stop making excuses for it.
Go shill your EA overlord's garbage in the ME: Andromeda thread.
First 75% of the game is good, nowhere near as good as the others, then it shits the bed.
The real problem is that enemies are too resilient to the traditional weapons and come in huge numbers, making 90% of your arsenal subpar compared to a dull Shotgun + Assault Rifle combo and rendering the cool as fuck weapon customization useless. Also you rarely see different types of enemies together anymore.
The characters are also hot garbo but who even gives a shit about that if the gameplay is good.
>wanting remaster when game is out on PC and can be played in 4k and above while injecting various shaders
Are you braindead?
>ohh yes and THE FUCKING MICROTRANSACTIONS
>Also paid DLC resources.
I'm surprised people complain about microtransactions because they're optional.
You don't have to pay for them, y'know?
No, instead you can just grind resources with the fucking stupid little robots, horribly mangling the flow of play that the previous 2 games got down perfectly fine.
There are zero excuses for it, its blatantly something EA forced Visceral to throw in to squeeze a few more bucks out of people, and is a big nasty wart on the face of an already pretty ugly game.
The CEO has gone on record saying remasters are lazy.
FEAR 3 is much, much worse than Dead Space 3. Like, next level worse. I've played the main entries in both series and it was the only game I dropped.
You can just buy the Resource packs with Ration Cards if you really need that much fucking Tungsten
>Are you braindead?
Console user who's clueless when it comes to PC gaming.
And wouldn't a remastered edition still be better for PC because it would now have a 64bit and dx11 support?
>The CEO has gone on record saying remasters are lazy.
No, he didn't. He simply said it was not a thing for EA because they want to fully focus on current and future games.
>And wouldn't a remastered edition still be better for PC because it would now have a 64bit and dx11 support?
Do you seriously believe EA would bother with that?
We'd be lucky if they even bothered fixed the mouse smoothing fuckery DS1 had.
>monsters no longer get hitstunned
Yes they do.
>3/4 of the craftable weapons are shit
The game is so easy that everything is viable.
>game relies of OOGA BOOGA horde waves than careful enemy placement and spawns
Every Dead Space is like this.
>And wouldn't a remastered edition still be better for PC because it would now have a 64bit and dx11 support?
No because the game runs more than fine even in retarded resolutions like 8k. Also zero benefit from dx11 unless they go deep into the game and change parts of the engine, which never happens in comercial remasters.
Remasters often get made by some cheap chink companies who don't even get the original source code of the game, that's why they are all trash and break more than they improve.
Easy bucks from ignorant retards through cheap labour and low effort.
If profit exists for them then they will do it.
Some people complain about the lack of atmospheric horror like the first 2 games, with the introduction of human soldier enemies
I guess its bad as a dead space game since the trade mark atmosphere and claustrophobia is gone, but its decently fun as a TPS with a fun crafting system and horror aesthetics. Its like the amount of gameplay improvements they add is inversely proportionate to how scarey the game is
DS3 wasn't THAT bad. It did Action horror better than RE5/6, REv 1 and 2 did.
There is a space R'lyeh in the game.
It is boring as fuck.
That, I think says everything.
It isn't but Dead Space is a fairly overrated series in general.
The game has never been close to "survival horror" if you can aim.
...
Yeah the low ammo thing is like a meme, ive always had a massive abundance of ammo considering some of the guns become insanely strong when upgraded like that beam gun that just instakill brutes
Dead Space was always closer to action horror than survival horror. Doesn't change 1 and 2 from both being great TPSs.
For me one of the largest issues in 3 was the shameless room copying. I'm fairly certain that 2 had no copied rooms, whereas 3 has entire cloned bases.
...
>No because the game runs more than fine even in retarded resolutions like 8k.
8k is retarded?
What's next that we can get from your opinion -- 1000 fps is too peasant for you as well?
>Easy bucks from ignorant retards through cheap labour and low effort.
If the price is low than why not as long as the game was clearly improved?
Halo 1 and 2 remastered editions were good.
And so was Skyrim. But this game free is on PC if you have all the DLCs, so I doubt EA would do anything similar such as this.
>The game has never been close to "survival horror" if you can aim.
So you're saying the only way for a game to be labeled "survival-horror" is to treat your character as an idiot who cant get his hands on a weapon while running around and hiding like some sort of Taiwanese schoolgirl?
>8k is retarded?
Right now it is unless you are Richy Rich who let koreans made his own personal panel
>1000 fps is too peasant for you as well?
It would be inefficient as hell since there's no screen which such a refresh rate and the human eye caps out at about 200, tested on military jet pilots.
>Halo 1 and 2 remastered editions were good.
Can't comment on that, there might be very tiny selection of decent remasters, but the majority are cheap cashgrabs.
>And so was Skyrim
Haha no, vanilla game with enb and various mods shits on that lazy pice of shit, infact it looks like they even got inspired by some of the worst enbs and put them into the basegame.
>Dead Space 2 is noticeably more of shooter than the first game, and better off because of it
ftfy
The horror in Dead Space was never actually scary because you could just dismember the fuck out of all those monsters.
It made for good atmoshpere but when they tried to force "sooo scary guys" aspects it came off as pretentious.
They realized this with 2 and made it more action oriented which was a complete improvement.
>Also, for large parts of DS2, I barely had any ammo to work with (on hard mode)
how? I finished DS2 on hard mode and I never worried about ammo
>that glorious air blast
maybe I should start Force Gun run
...
Never, 3 was the worst and 2 was close to being as bad.
It's amazing, rips everything apart even on impossible difficulty.
Most underrated weapon in the game.
Plasma cutter can't compete.
I actually enjoyed all three games and would love to play a Dead Space 4
Maybe in good time
>Can't comment on that, there might be very tiny selection of decent remasters, but the majority are cheap cashgrabs.
I stopped caring about arguing against cheap cashgrabs when people started defending (or at least not caring about) the TF2 hats.
How do I cap the framerate for the game?
It's annoying because the brethren moon shit is ten hundred percent spooky and could be some of the coolest stuff in the series but you know they'd fuck it up and give you a moon-busting mech or some shit.
>ywn use your mining skills to get to the center of a brethren moon and tear its heart out
How do you change/set Ambient Occlusion in this game?
Force Gun is the shotgun of deadspace.
It gets overlooked because there was that one gun cheevo, and the plasma cutter is honestly a great gun against almost everything.
If you have a 60Hz screen just force v-sync in display drivers (disable it in game options though).
Otherwise I only kown a solution for nvidia by using nvidia inspector.
yikes
I liked them all as well... but 3 was a significant downgrade in a number of ways.
And, honestly it worries me what the 4th game would look like if it ever happened.
...
>It would be inefficient as hell since there's no screen which such a refresh rate
You sure?
youtube.com
5 year old video btw
Horsefaces are realistic!
>disable it in game options though
Oh my god.... I just did this, and the game just got way, way more stunning. Fucking wow... thanks!
Thankfully fucking never ever. I once was like you, op, I wanted more, more dead space. Something to fix what dead space 3 fucking destroyed. A game to redeem the series in my eyes. I soon realized that this would never happen because ea would surely fuck things up twice as hard if they ever went through making a fourth entry in the series. I now just pretend that there is no dead space 3, that there is no trilogy, just a duology. The series ended at 2 and that's that.
DS1=DS2>Extraction
There are no other dead space games, just these three and fuck you if you say otherwise.
Is this a default program for Nvidia? I'm using a GTX970
I agree, although 3 did have some things going for it imo
I liked being able to play with a friend (which isn't a requirement, so if you still want to get spooked by yourself that's fine)
I also appreciated that Carver and Isaac saw different things, that one sidequest when you get back to the elevator and Isaac said something about them being in there the whole time, I thought that was really cool.
Otherwise, it was worse, but still fun.
I thought Line Gun is the shotgun of Desu Spess
>You sure?
Yes.
I don't know what your video is supposed to show me as it runs in 30 FPS and server tick looks like 60.
Aslo you don't play games in slowmotion, do you?
No, I also belive it conflicts with jewvidya experience.
The enemies are generic zombie looking things instead of exploding babies and gruesome mutations.
Weapons are bullet based now, not plasma and shit.
The effects of the game are shit, whereas the first 2 every weapon felt like an atomic punch in flesh. Now they're dinky hitscan cowadoody bullits.
That said, it's because it's a cawadoody 3ps.
Isaac is unlikeable as fuck now. He's a fucking loser.
And the gameplay is not only linear, but cover based shooter linear that has little to do with Dead Spacean. It looks, feels and sounds bad.
Also that. The sound is horrible compared to the others, where certain attention to detail was put to make the enemies sound unique and horrifying, like those claw kids that screech autismally.
And tacked on co op mode that no one asked for.
I never liked how enemies drop more ammo for the gun you're using and health packs when you'e low on health. Shit's not ok.
shut the fuck up
3 was a perfectly fine dead space game
One problem with DS in my opinion is that you only get ammo for the weapon you're holding. It would have been much harder on impossible if you got ammo for all weapons no matter if you had bought them or not. Forcing you to switch between weapons. Impossible is actually easier the less weapons you carry with you.
>And the gameplay is not only linear, but cover based shooter linear that has little to do with Dead Spacean. It looks, feels and sounds bad.
except its less linear and far more open than both previous games, and way less clunky. its also in no way a cover based shooter
try harder.
>new gf is brown
>NTR in 3rd game
They were far ahead of current trends.
>True
>Wrong
>True somewhat
>Somewhat true
>True
>It's not even true cover but you're right
>true
>I wouldn't have minded it. But yeah.
I just want a Dead Space 4 but with the Dead Space 1 tone. Is that too much to ask for?
Yes. Because it's EA and they fucked it all up and we'll never see another sequel again.
To be honest, when I first started DS3 that white kid who got killed by the general was pretty cool. I would have played as that guy. Maybe they should start a prequel set in that time where the outbreak has started on Tau Volantis.
