Did you kill him?

Did you kill him?

I did. Foltest was a bro

this + I felt that intentionally depriving myself of a final boss fight is stupid

No way, fuck Foltest and all other kings

Solidarity between witchers felt like too abstract a concept to let him go for. I felt Geralt owed it to Foltest since technically it was his failure as a bodyguard that resulted in Foltest's death. It was just a manly necessity to avenge him

He helped you fight the wild hunt and looked after Yennefer even though she was a trouble-making bitch who tried to seduce his fellow viper witchers to drive a wedge against them. As far as I'm concerned, he repaid Geralt for saving his life when he risked his life to fight the wild hunt and then went beyond that when he took care of Yen. And even after all that, he spares Geralt's life when he could've easily killed him.

He's a total bro imo.

Also, another thing I forgot. Letho didn't even hold a grudge against you for killing his two witcher companions from the same viper school which left him the sole survivor of the Viper school. He was willing to let bygones be bygones at the end.

No. I never really gave a shit about Foltest or Temeria and I thought Letho was an interesting character.

Nah he was just scarred to fight Geralt, so he tried to talk his way out of situation.

That was never clear for me, but did withcer mutation fucked up his genes so he became super ripped?

First playthrough, yeah, for the sake of a final boss fight. For the save I implemented in 3, nah. I did complete it round 5-6 times tho.

Letho's not afraid of anything he just doesn't hold a grudge

He did what he had to and I owed him a debt, couldn't blame him. I liked Foltest but if I were in his shoes I would have done the same shit too.

Nope, Foltest was a fuckwit and Letho is a cool guy. Plus he helps you at the battle of kaer morhen even though it doesn't matter how many allies you have not to mention all the shit he does for geralt before TW2.

Begrudgingly, yes.

I held no ill will to him, and while it's not the place of a Witcher to avenge a King, it is to avenge a friend

Depending on your allies you can have a MUCH easier time killing the Hunt, and you may not have to kill as many

He probably lifts, unlike Geralt.

Yes.

>kingslayer
>taunts you the entire game, doesn't hesitate to kill Geralt when given the chance

Such a shame he goes down like a massive bitch, and no, the shitty quest he has in TW3 doesn't make it worth it.

>making people hate witchers even more
Eat shit, Letho. I don't want rulers trying to lynch me because of your antics and Nilfgaard affiliation.

>it is to avenge a friend
who?

Foltest

Also not to mention Letho killing Foltest basically started the entire fucking war

All of their blood is on his hands

Letho is a monster. Witchers kill monsters.

It still makes no difference in the grand scheme of things, it's a fucking telltale-tier "choice"

i savescummed to get both endings but in witcher 3 i accepted that canon is letting letho live because it's the right thing to do as a witcher

This

I never kill witchers, not Letho, not the one in Novigrad, not Gaetan.

no because the idea of getting into another shitfest of a fight with him was so repellant that i did everything in my power to avoid it.

>because it's the right thing to do as a witcher
Except it isn't. You don't let a guy walk after committing one of the worst possible crimes just because he's in the same special snowflake club as you. Any witcher worth his salt would put down a mad dog in his own ranks too.

At that time, you already have other choices of clearing your name. No point killing him especially since Witchers are more or less dying out. Foltest was a shame but its not like Geralt had any relationship with him aside from business reasons.

The man killed multiple kings and plunged countries into war that cost the lives of hundreds of thousands. You don't get to walk after doing that.

I read the books and I still have no idea what Geralt would've done.

I was taking my W1 route of going neutral so I was trying to stay off politics. My goal at the time was to clear Geralt's name and the story's development allowed that without killing Letho. Easy choice.

Yes and no

No.

He wasn't my enemy.

Witchers have one job: Kill monsters.

And Letho left humanity behind long ago. The man was on 12 scoops.

Dunno what I did the first time, but I'm pretty sure I let him go most of my playthroughs.

I mean sure he's kind of responsible for the shit that happens to you during TW2, but he took care of Yennefer for Geralt, despite her being an unlikeable bitch who's always stirring up trouble, not to mention he saves Triss if you opt to save Foltests's kids not that it fucking matters in TW3

>Witchers have one job: Kill monsters
>with two-handed sword

>And Letho left humanity behind
If only that were easy. He was just did what he did for the Witchers' survival. He was wrong for killing kings, sure, but that was part of the job he took. Not much different with Geralt involving himself with Foltest, just different sides.

I never played W1, is Foltest characterized a lot in that game? Or in the novels? Cause I think he is the great in the prologue of 2 but I still think it's too short to want to avenge him at the end of it.

You don't meet him in TW1 that I recall, but TW1 has the best story of the three (though the shittiest combat and dated graphics)

cancel that, I guess you do meet him in TW1

>King Foltest's appearance and characterization in Witcher 1 was possibly inspired by the Necromonger Lord Marshal Zhylaw of the Chronicles of Riddick film series.

He shows up in the end
>hey, save(or kill) my daughter from the curse
>hey, go help me save temeria from civil war by killing the guy behind Salamandra
>here's your reward
>oh no assassin
>you saved me, go be my bodyguard
He was pretty cool for a king.
>Temeria is on fire from the Salamandras, elves, etc
>His first command was to save the whorehouses

Why would I?

...

Depends on how pissed he would be on him. He usually tries to avoid trouble, but considering he got him into a lot of shit and kidnapped Triss he would probably go after him.

>ynw be a ripped witcher travelling the lands killing monsters spending all your pay on beer and cards and fucking qt women

kill me now bros

he kicked your ass

As other people mentioned he showed up in the last act of the game and he also shows up in the books. At least in one short story and few times in the main saga, mainly in political scenes from what I recall .

Killed him once to see how the boss fight was (easy as fuck, just like everything else if you specced into swords), then let him live for my W3 save import

Of course I killed him. Fuck that faggot.

>there was a "you win but boss beats you in cutscene" bossfight with this guy
This is the sole reason I killed him. God I hate witcher 2.

To save him from the miserable existance of a creatine addict who goes as far as killing kings just to get another fix.

Letho had a hard life

>creatine addict
Did not expect to see a /fit/ meme today

>play through TW2 getting my save in order for TW3
>let Letho live
>get to the part where you're supposed to be able to recruit him
>game bug means I can't
