Seriously
Why does every game need to be a roguelike? When did this start? I hate it so much
ITT: i discredit anything i don't like with the use of buzzwords
But those term are not meaningless if the person using them has read Lovecraft and played Metroid and Castlevania

Darn I knew I was missing one.

The term "metroidvania" has been around for over 15 years.
>rougelike-like
>has been around for over 15 years.
That is a nice source you provide for that claim
Roguelikes have variety and replayability.
If you're an indie dev who isn't able to make a huge game, you can make a relatively simple roguelike and have people play it for 50 hours rather than the 5 hours it takes to beat a simple story mode.
Its like having a game survive because of it's multiplayer except you don't need to rely on having an active playerbase.

Yes.
LGBTQ + POC game cast and voice actors
well here's review from almost 15 years ago that mentions the term metroidvania
>tag: female protagonist
Thanks, user!
Castleroid sounds better
Sandbox has been around forever.
Like Undertale.
Lovecraftian has been around since at least 1984, how is it a newage term?
In fact, newage isn't even a word as far as I can find, so it's probably closer to fitting its own criteria than 'lovecraftian' is. Unless you meant 'New Age' which is a movement and not a time period.
newage is a newage word retard.
>>lovecraftian
was newage maybe in the 1950ies

I concluded as much, yeah. Maybe actually read before replying next time.

I don't get why people don't like this phrase.
It's a good way to describe a problem that some games have.
