I've never understood the love for MK64. It's by far the worst Mario Kart game.
basically every early 3D game, mostly for their controls that are extremely stiff and in some cases borderline nonsensical compared to modern standards.
nostalgia googles
but it's the only good mario kart
Nostalgia
Played his again the other day. Controls are fine. Nothing wrong with the game.
Dark Messiah. Mostly because it's on the source engine and you can tell whenever you look around.
>like milk
posts mario kart 64. obvious bait, user.
is milk the name of some fine wine?
No better way to show you never played N64 games in their prime than to say they aged badly.
The games may not be pretty but have way more charm than most modern games.
Think of the shit that has been discovered nigga, you're telling me you don't want to know about 0.5x A presses and QPU's?
Games built in the early days were designed by and for people who have yet experienced the snobby and superficial life of instant gratification. I feel this is why games like Resident Evil FEEL terrible to play.
Anyone agree?
I love slow paced games but oh boy I must be spoiled. Res Evil and Tomb Raider are a bitch to get through, with the static rotations and push-to-look buttons and all.
Compared to mario 64, nintendo did all the right things to make a ageless game. Although the camera and movement can be finicky at times, its quick and presented in a low polygon, easy to interpret, cartoon style.

An A press is an A press, you can't say it's only a half.
Might be my edgy interest in dark fantasy, but dark messiah is still enjoyable for me today. The combat is fluid and satisfying, and the graphics give me the nostalgia for games like Half-Life 2.
>discovered
you mean explained?
The amount of people splerging the comments in these videos is laughable. Take a fucking physics and programming class toddlers.
Improvement over the 2D MK.
Now that's where you're wrong
Anyone else love that almost "plastic" look early 3D games had to the models on the covers and art? The new stuff just looks.. Soul-less and generic somehow, in comparison, I feel. Maybe it's just nostalgia.
You're very depressing and naïve.
Aged is code word for not handholding enough for the paste eating casuals that play modern games.

Double Dash is the worst Mario Kart game
MK64 had by far the best multiplayer out of any of the games and some of the best tracks as well.
What if you are holding A upon arrival into a new level and release it. For that level, you didn't press A, only released.
If an A press is describe as the press and release of the button A, then there are a total of 2 actions that make up an A press.
>therefor: release = .5 A
anyone have the mathematical proof the guy uploaded?
>Double Dash is the worst Mario Kart game
It's sorta nostalgic but it helped the cover art stand out more. Same with albums on vinyl. Not a lot of albums now have really cool, expressive and colourful art on them.
Absolutely great game, but I honestly found myself getting bored when replaying it the other day, everything just feels slow up until Chapter 3, where the game truly gets its glitz and glamour.
I dunno, maybe Xenoblade and Rogue Galaxy spoiled me on what I expect from an RPG.
Or maybe social perception and expectation evolves with newer technology and art, and not always in a bad way.
Played them the other day. Still lives up to my nostalgia.
Ops a faggot
I disagree on RE. I actualy randomly played through it last week and had a lot of fun. The sound design and atmosphere really held up for me and I was charmed by how much they managed to pull off despite technical limitations. I haven't played Tomb Raider in years, though I have the first three of them, but I imagine it would not hold up too great.
In contrast, it was the plastic look that made them look soulless in my eyes. It's like saying a wax doll replica of your favorite actor looks more lifelike than the real deal, nobody's gonna actually argue that it is the case. Not that there isn't nostalgia to these old covers, but you must be kidding yourself if the shiny and plastic look on covers at the time look more alive than some of today's covers.
IT was the game that introduced the shitty blue shell pickup. Since then the franchise went downhill and became luck-based crap.
This aged way worse.
SMK, MK64, and MKSC are just bad.
Double Dash is the first truly decent Mario Kart, but even that has some physics that feels overly slippery
False.
The by far worst MK game is easily the SNES one.
I was at a party for the launch of the Wii U one, and everyone suddenly got hit with nostalgia for 64 and we got it up and running for 4 player vs.
The framerate was somewhere in the teens, fucking awful.
although I was happy to kick everyone's ass, I had been sucking at Wii U all night
Anything with the blue shell in it is an atrocity.
Except Double Dash and MK7. These are so fucking good even with this bullshit.
Jesus fucking Christ, biggest normalfag bait of our generation.
Mario Kart DS is gold
You can even dodge blue shells by being boosting at the right moment
The GBA game was pretty bad.
That has been a thing in most Mario Kart games, though.
>le aged like milk meme
Super Circuit is the only bad Mario Kart desu
Lol. Are you underage?
>toads turnpike
If we look at both games objectively, I think Super Circuit is definitely better. They play the same but SC has better graphics and double the amount of tracks.
>Toad's Turnpike
>not the comfiest shit ever
I will always remember that skyline and music as the one thing I associate with the 1990's, shit was comfy.
That's because all Mario RPGs are baby's first RPG.
