>floaty, redundant combat >worst main questline in the series >ridiculously ugly faces >literal dog shit tier writing >completely busted leveling system
Can someone remind me why ANYONE likes this game? I can't think up a better example of a developer doing literally everything wrong.
Most of those things apply to every Bethesda game m8
Josiah Wright
It was the first non-isometric open world RPG I got my hands on
Christian Diaz
Its really simple.
You have freedom to roleplay as your own character and you can just fill in the rest of the game with imagination.
Or at least that's what I think.
Xavier Barnes
At least Skyrim had, you know, something to fucking explore.
Jeremiah Stewart
It was the first Bethesda Open world RPG game made to appeal to large masses and mainly console audience. It did for RPG's what Halo did for shooters. Millions of people played this shit when they were 12 or less, having never played a western RPG before. Most modern Bethesda game players don't give a fuck about shit like quality of writing anyway. Worries like that are not even comprehensible to them.
Eli Jenkins
Because they played it when they were in middle school and now they are old enough to post here.
Justin Myers
lol
Noah Walker
>Can someone remind me why ANYONE likes this game? Nostalgia. That's it.
Skyrim is a straight up improvement on the formula, but people always say oblivion/morrowind were better.
Nathaniel Rogers
Morrowind > Daggerfall > Skyrim > Oblivion
You know I'm right.
Easton Adams
Yea explore dungeons that were locked and you couldn't enter because 90% of them were quest related as opposed to Oblivion where you could even find daedric quest objectives in the wild like the unicorn, umbra, invisible town etc and I'm not even going to mention the shit you could discover in the shivering Isles like that war between ghosts questline.
Cameron Lopez
>Morrowind > Daggerfall > Skyrim > Oblivion Morrowind was better. Oblivion was worse. It may surprise you, but these games have the ability to make mistakes as well as improve on themselves.
To this day, Morrowind still remains the only great game that Beth has created. Skyrim and Daggerfal were among the bad-but-not terrible titles, while Oblivion and Fallout 3 were absolute garbage. I don't think Bethesda has it in them to make another great game in the future through.
Chase Ortiz
never played daggerfal, but I agree with the ranking of the other three
what the fuck are you talking about, 90%? the vast majority of dungeons, pretty much all of them, have nothing to do with the main quest line in skyrim and are always open
Nicholas Martinez
Sidequests and Faction storylines were actually interesting.
Evan Foster
Don't even get me fucking started on the exploration in Oblivion. Every cave, EVERY FUCKING CAVE looks exactly the same
Which basically means after you've explored the first shitty cave outside of Anvil you may as well stop playing because you've seen it all.
Robert Bell
I'm currently developing a first person combat dungeon crawler.
Tell me how you would improve the combat in TES, without going "Make it like Dark Messiah" even though that would probably be an improvement but let's be more precise.
Nathaniel Brooks
Oh come on dude who the fuck are you kidding here? Look there's even a mod that unlocks all the quest related bullshit nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69420/? Granted there were some of these in Oblivion as well but not this amount. Also the variety of the NPCs while you explore in Skyrim is a big fucking joke.
Jaxson Diaz
Stagger and weight. Hits should have a visual impact on enemies and in some cases being hit should knock back the player. Large weapons should have some windup but it is almost impossible to get this right from a first person perspective because your character shouldn't be looking at the windup.
Jeremiah Roberts
why?
Leo White
>not the Terminator series gfy underage.
Kevin Sanchez
desu, skyrim is basically the same >oh look I found some ruins, I wonder what I'll find inside! >oh look it's draugr, I was totally not expecting that
Jose Bennett
Because it's like many other old games, play them for the first time nowadays and they are shit, but back then they were something special in their own way and were memorable
Blake Green
FONV > Morrowind > Skyrim > FO4 > FO3 > Oblivion
Asher Martin
Just a very simple reminder.
Jordan Williams
How the fuck can you put FO3 above Oblivion. At least oblivion has some interesting quests, FO3 is basically the same game but it doesn't even even the cool quests, and the main story is even more fucked >that "no you gotts go" ending
Eli Brooks
>this is what oblibabbies actually believe Cry more, butthurt haters.
Leo Nelson
>3/5 fixed with mods >Most side quest are interesting I still enjoy it the most and replay it once every few years Skyrim and Morrowind felt like a chore to play most of the time
