Zelda is not good..... seriously, why are people excited?

i am still wondering what it is people see in this game..... its got nothing on the witcher, it looks like shit, the gameplay is basic as fuck, the enemies look uninspired. What is with that murky blurry effect they have going on?

this game just has zelda in its name..... i also watched a gameplay demo, it looks bare. Bigger world than skyrim???? with nothing in it

I also watched them tame a horse and it looked tedious

This game will be a failure because it wont be anywhere near as impressive as horizon or the witcher

what do you think is missing from the game, specifically?

What this game has that none of the other open world games have shown so far is a physics engine that lets you approach obstacles however you think they need to be done.

Rather than the previous, set in stone Zelda games that required certain items to progress in certain areas of the game, you'll be able to find multiple solutions using a plethora of ideas at your proposal.

"Hello sir! I've come to bring you images!"

.....

This sounds like an ad to me for some reason.

????

shill

it's the only good game in years.
If you've liked any game in that timespan, you just have shit taste.

>10 posts
>no replies from OP
Dead thread, pack it in and move on.

Is this the best bait shitposters can come up with?

gee........OP.......I don't.......know..............

you're right OP..... Zelda is not good..... Zelda is bad and basic..... just a name..... based Sony with based horizon will save 2017.....

>op asks for opinion
>state opinion with facts
>get called a shill

You just can't win with nu/v/ can you.

The way you worded it just sounds like an ad to me. Doesn't mean you're necessarily wrong.

>horizon
shitty AAA game where devs doing on-rails pleb TPS crap try to introduce RPG adventure elements
>witcher 3
good indie RPG series that went AAA, losing all of its soul in the process, casualizing everything and just copying other mainstream games
>skyrim
generic action-rpg that started the open-world meme cancer

On the other hand we have
>zelda
unique formula blending action-rpg, platforming, puzzle solving and metroidvania that keeps delivering new and amazing dungeons

>metroidvania
Are you retarded?

Facts? Has the game been released? Have you played and experienced exactly what you just said, on the release version of the game?
Have you experienced this across many events other than one or two that seem to give the illusion of choice but in reality there is one or two solutions at most?

No? You haven't? Because the game isn't released yet?
Well then, that doesn't look like a fact to me now does it? What it looks like it's speculation from the promises of developers...

seriously..... maybe you should stop typing like a sperg???? or go back to gamefaqs......

no, but it looks like you are.
Unlocking new items/abilities to open new paths is a core mechanic of zelda.

>shilling witcher
>bashing on game that's not even out yet
>not allowed to like what you don't like
What is your angle?

Because It's Zelda, it's infinitely superior to anything else that has been placed out this generation. It's objectively superior by the pure density of shit you can do which was show cased at e3 with the beginning area which is only 1% of the game

There OP do you feel justified for making this thread now?

Okay. Let's get this straight. None of these open world games are good in terms of gameplay.

>is a core mechanic of zelda.
>so its also a metroidvania

Jesus you actually are retarded.

what I described is the definition of what 'metroidvania' means.

You didn't describe a 2D side scrolling platformer with an emphasis on non-linear exploration in an vertically integrated environment in the style of castlevania: sotn.

So you are saying metroid was the game that inventd powerups that let you take new routes? Pretty sure not
also this

Also
>inb4 bullshit about what it means now
It means and has always meant a castlevania (or ripoff of castlevania) in the style of metroid, as opposed to the traditional arcade level format.

Have you seen the hours ofblive demonstration showing off said obatacles and challenges? Some of the stuff shown in tje shrines even shows how you can make an easy puzzle be solved in a less traditional way.

There's also plenty of webms of demo footage showcasing ideas like lighting grass fields on fire to clear a bokoblin camp, rolling boulders over cliffs to topple enemies, creating bridges using chopped down trees, getting extra air on your glider by throwing a bomb below you to produce an air current to lift you upward, etc.

Go watch the hours of treehouse live footage as that's plenty of proof to provide for my evidence of facts.

that's the definition of castlevania, not the metroidvania genre.

see

>The wind affects the environment

Wow guys this is fucking game changer.

This thread again
Anotha one

>this game just has zelda in its name

That's basically it, this exact game without the Zelda label wouldn't sell anything. Just like that Zelda Musou sold more than any other game in the whole fucking genre despite having less than half the content those games generally have.

you seem to be unable to understand what that means for the gameplay pal

And just like every game that comes out with a cool looking gimmick all the interesting applications of it have already been shown off and will be exhausted within the first 25% of the game.

>Oh no! I've been found out. Better blame muh nu/v/
Fuck off

>Entirely scripted footage that was prepared beforehand, and gives the illusion of choice is a representative of not only the final product but every obstacle in that product

Let me let you in on a secret. Publishers lie to make their game sell. All you have to do is look at the fucking E3 "demo" build of the original Watch Dogs as one of the best examples.
The game is not released yet, you have not played the release version. All you have done is watched entirely controlled footage presented by the company themselves and presented that as both fact and representative of the final product. You have fallen for one of the oldest marketing tricks in the book and your simple mind is incapable of thought, therefore you parrot this trick as fact and shill it over the internet.

It is not fact at all you intolerable retard, do the world a favour and kindly fuck off so we don't have to deal with your fanboyism anymore. A promise of a game does not make the game.

Are you even 18? Nobody else but an underage newfag could be this clueless.

Actually it's the definition of a metroidvania AKA the type of castlevania that was introduced with SotN and later became a genre of its own.

Yep, still it depends on the player and how versatille the gimmick is

fuck off shill

dipshit

People played the game themselves you moron. At multiple events i might add. Also, like Nintendo had to lie to make a Zelda game sell. Are you for real?

Kys.

The difference being that Zelda isn't overhyping on big revolutionary stuff. They're relying on a collective of small things to do in the world, with the addition of typical Zelda-like dungeons.

It isn't entirely too preposterous, as what BoTW is doing has already been done before in different games, but not in the same game.

I'm intrigued by this, as I've probably used "Metroidvania" in the wrong context. Would you consider Arkham Asylum to be a "Metroidvania" type game, or is that just me?

You know the whole "????" "......" punctuation thing makes the bait really obvious right.
Try harder.

if you remove "2D sidescrolling" and "in the style of castlevania: sotn" it does apply to many more games.
Only silly people would consider that those two elements are defining of the genre.

I'm 30 this year.
Not everyone on Sup Forums is a kid, despite what it may look like.

>it wont be anywhere near as impressive as horizon
It's not even out yet and you're already sucking it's dick. Could you shill any harder?
