Is Link's Awakening better or worse than the Oracle trilogy?
Grand Dilemmas of Gaming
I'd personally say the oracle games but they're pretty close
>trilogy
Link's awakening but all three games are solid.
How were you supposed to know?
How would you say minish cap stacks up against these btw?
oracle is the best
Link's Awakening is more charming, has more atmosphere, better story, characters and it's comfy-er.
Oracles have better dungeons and more replayability.
I wonder what it smells like. Haha.
Both oracle games are better but have shittier sections and the main gimmick often falls flat in both.
>he doesn't know about the third oracle game
Link's Awakenins is the only Zelda I like(yes including OoT and LttP), but I've never tried either of the Ages games.
Are they really close to the style of LA in quality of gameplay or do they just look similar because they were all on the GBC?
All 3 play about the same. I'd recommend them considering you liked LA so much
We can all agree that OoS > OoA, right?
LA's overworld is better - the Oracle games have too many gimmicks and puzzles that make getting through their overworlds a little slow.
If you loved LA there's not reason not to play the Oracle games though. The bosses are definitely better and more challenging, as are some of the puzzles (though nothing quite as cool as destroying the pillars in Eagle's Tower).
Oracle games are supreme. My fave Zelda game boy games with seasons being my favorite
Oracle games hands-down. If BoTW can somehow hone that 3rd party Capcom crap-tasticness and ass-pull lore that the Oracles had, it would be GOTD for me.
in my opinion, it's much lower. minish cap was fun for a playthrough but something about its overworld felt more linear in comparison. not only did I replay the oracles more, they even had secrets for when I beat the game (although minish cap had the album thing).
they have effectively the same engine. if you liked LA, you are likely to like ages/season
DX is garbage compared to the classic Link's Awakening.
The only problem is that you can't skip text anymore
Link's Awakening is way fucking better than Ages and about equal with Seasons if not slightly better.
seriously I have no idea how Ages ended up being dogshit when Seasons was amazing.
I'm the kind of old fag who like Awakening a bit better.
A more concise game. Better music too.
You clearly never played either the original or the DX version if you don't know about the censored parts.
It was censored internationally at first but then they applied it to the dx version for all regions. It doesn't matter much either way
>Ages ended up being dogshit
it's the map design. All in the map design.
The dungeons are tough but have good moments. But it can be extremely tedious because it seems like you either need to do busy work or go back/forward in time just to get from point A to point B.
Yeah, it feels like every 3 seconds I need to switch time zones because there's a small rock in the way.
Season's overworld was not only more open but the changes to it were much more noticeable as well as having 4 options instead of 3. Plus cool shit like kids playing in piles of leaves in the towns when it's fall.
But that's not even all of Ages' problems, the music is way worse than Seasons, the dungeons aren't as good, you don't get the Magnet Gloves which are one of the funnest items in the history of the series, only positive is you get Zoras instead of Gorons.
>Zoras > Gorons
Wrong
Are you seriously complaining about not being able to see a literal hippo's tits?
No
Yes and not being able to fantasize about the topless mermaid anymore.
Link's Awakening, by far.
The Oracle games are severely annoying.
What difference does it make if they swapped the quest to find the mermaid's bikini for a quest to find one of her scales?
Oracle games are the peak of 2D Zelda
Ages > Awakening > Seasons
LA > OoS > OoA
I don't know I just like them all so much
God I love video games
Isn't it obvious?
>God I love video games
You shouldn't be on Sup Forums
It's just five words of the dialogue and an icon on your menu dude
I also remember the cukemen who talk shit when you put magic powder on them, but I think that only happened in the German version.
I love video games too. I just moderate how often I play them and don't listen to any opinions from Sup Forums except for older games that usually end up being as good as they're made out to be. I mainly just come here for the funny pictures.
It will gain GotY of the next two or three years and we both know it
>people always say seasons was better than ages
why? i remember thinking seasons was the more difficult of the two but really i liked both a lot.
Wrong person m80
>i remember thinking seasons was the more difficult of the two
It really isn't. Seasons' puzzles are stupidly easy (A pond? Gee, guess I better freeze the water!) and most of the season changes don't even carry over to the dungeons themselves. Ages definitely had more of a LttP/OoT flavor with its time travel, and more of the mechanics were better integrated into the world and dungeons. OoS had to add a fucking sub-world underneath because of how bland the main overworked was.
They're both decent games, but it's clear Seasons was always meant to be the intro game while Ages was the harder one.
Remember when you fucked a ball placement in Eagle Tower and threw it somewhere you couldn't reach?
Holy fuck I hated that dungeon. Annoying ass boss too.
Link's Awakening is about 15 times better - That's not a "dilemma".
I still need to play Ages.
