Would you want to see a reboot of Startropics Sup Forums?

Would you want to see a reboot of Startropics Sup Forums?

fuck yeah I do!

In theory, yes.
In practice, no, because I know they'd fuck it up.

>Reboot
Just a make a Startropics 3, geez.

Op ur a cool guy ur the first person iv ever seen refrence that game.

Fuck yeah I do.

As long as they remove the unavoidable deathtraps from the first game.

more Startropics please, both games were pretty fucking neato

I would love to see them bring it back and now that Zelda no longer uses that format, it makes sense to bring back ST

This is one of the few NESgames I had and loved it. I still remember the music.

I could see it doing something like Beyond Good and Evil, or Earthbound. Depends on who makes it in all honesty. Retro Studios plz?

No, this is a better idea Stop meming retro for every franchise. This ip deserves love not shit

>this IP deserves love not shit
>give it to rockstar

They don't have a bad track record at all though. Startropics by Rockstars I just see being some big overworld with a lot of side missions and a whole lot of nothing to do, no dungeons, made for a "mature" audience. Turning into big budget hollywood blockbuster game that has little connection to the original series.

Since when has Rockstar ever shown a predilection towards lighthearted adventure games like Startropics?

Lemmings

They have a few folks from Disney working there; they could easily turn it into a magical adventure rather than Retro being try hards and just fucking it up. Every series retro has laid its hands on ends up being taken away and butchered; see metroid prime and DK. If retro holds the series for a new game, Tanabe will just come and fuck everything up

Intelligent Systems & Retro are arguably the most cursed devs within Nintendo. I thought of rock star because they actually try with their open world games, unlike memesters like Kojima Productions.

There isn't anyone else internally that could make a good start topics game except maybe Koizumi's team.

>implying Tanabe won't barge in retro and fuck it up like he did with metroid and dk

Get that dev team away from star tropics. Nothing good comes out of them and the franchises end up being cursed. I'm still glad they aren't making a F-zero game

I know Retro triggers your autism but you should probably cool your jets. Rockstar would be a fucking horrible studio to give Startropics to.

I wouldn't give it to Retro either though.

>Wanting Star Tropics when they made a new ip called Ever Oasis

Nailed it.

Funny thing is whenever anyone mentions that game the threads and posts end up getting no replies

Give it time, when more people start noticing the lizard women, it'll get more replies

Good to see you post on Sup Forums AntDude

Wrong thread.

Nope, right thread.

>As long as they remove the unavoidable deathtraps from the first game.
scrub

>Ever Oasis
looks interesting, but its not like StarTropics

Nintendo should bring the IP back and make it like their very own Uncharted series, but with the stylized art direction and the supernatural elements.

I can see so many potential StarTropic sequel ideas

if they brought startropics back I'd want them to keep the original flow of JRPG walky talky parts and then the action platforming dungeon segments.

but not the "talk to every single person in the village to progress" mechanic

If 2D, yes.
If 3D might as well be a new IP.
The last game was so long ago, and the series is so unknow that it makes no sense rebooting it while also changing everything.
Make a game inspired by it, or an spiritual sequel or whatever

>Retro
>Shit
Consider suicide

btw, 100 emplyees is all Bethesda had when they made Skyrim.

Startropics can totally work in 3D
just look at Uncharted, Tomb Raider and Zelda

>Nintendo's own Uncharted but with actual gameplay
I like the idea but I don't think Nintendo would ever go for it out of pride alone.

I know it could.
It would also give them the freedom to explore action/adventure in ways they can't with Zelda due to the series' tropes.
And they said they will be using the new Zelda engine as much as they can.
But the thing is, there's something to be gained by reusing the name of an old series instead of creating a new series?

They should bring Startropics, Mysterious Murasame Castle and For Frog the Bell Tolls back.
All Zelda's sister series

>But the thing is, there's something to be gained by reusing the name of an old series instead of creating a new series?

yes, why create something new when you already have that thing.
imagine if instead of creating a new metroid, they make a spiritual successor to it.
or instead of DKC Returns, they made a new IP but with the same gameplay as ther classic DKC games
I dont think a company should make spiritual successors for IPs they still have the rights to. Its understandable if the company doesnt have the rights anymore, like the Yooka-Laylee game coming out, or Mighty Number 9.
