Why did From casualize every souls game after pic related?

Demon's Souls was casualized by your definition.

Biggest reason is they're not mouth breathers who think difficulty is the main purpose of these games.

Dark Souls has never been overly difficult.
And to go further, claiming that DaS1 was the hardest game in the series is pure bullshit.

>le hardcore game for hardcore gaymurrs xD

People like you are why the series has gone to shit

But DaS1 is easy.

Not in the difficulty sense, no souls game is too difficult after you get used to the rithym. I mean in the sense that, why were things such as upgrade systems, stats, level progression and design so streamlined and simplified? Just look at Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne, they're both linear as shit and have only or 2 decent play styles.

>why were things such as upgrade systems, stats, level progression and design so streamlined and simplified?

Because it's good game design. Grinding for drops and having to fight with incredibly vague, obtuse systems that permeate the background and are never clearly explained isn't fun, it doesn't make for an engaging experience and it isn't real "difficulty"

>dark souls 2
>casualised

umm no sweetie

2 might have more quality of life features that make the game less shit to play, but that does not equate to casualisation

Also Dark Souls was incredibly streamlined compared to DeS, in the exact same way I've described.

>making an rpg a linear piece of shit with no replay value is good game design
nu-Sup Forums is real

You can do the DLC for Bloodborne after the 2nd boss, how is that linear?

Just because you're shit doesn't mean arcane isn't viable, by the way.

this poster is 200% correct. DKS 2 had the best build variety, and was much more complex than previous souls games. It had upgradable armor and bonfire acetics, both great additions.

Both Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne are better than 1, especially BB that is far beyond any other game in the series. Mostly because of their streamlining, leading to a better combat experience.

Or are we still pretending that the combat in DaS1 was in any way better than its successors?

>Souls
>RPG

It was never meant to be a full-on RPG. There are RPG systems and mechanics, sure, but only to the point that it adds an extra layer to the core action gameplay. Go back and read some of the early Demon's Souls interviews from Famitsu, it was literally pitched as a more streamlined reboot of King's Field.

the bosses are much harder now than anything in demons or dark 1.

No sequence breaking/alternate routes = linear.

>Both Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne are better than 1
Stopped reading

>Grinding for drops

I grinded way more in das3 than in 1. Das3 also has the same amount of vague systems. Never told what poise is, how armour scales after certain percentages, how counter hits work, etc. Basically same as how das1 did it.

Da fuq? DS2 is objectively harder than DS1.

Are you implying the combat in any souls game is something other than mediocre? Dark Souls works exactly because it's a mesh of a bunch of different ideas thrown together. Take some of those out and it goes from great to decent.

name an RPG with better combat

Its so hilariously clear that you're a PCpleb who started the series with Dark souls and actually thinks that its a great, innovative breath of fresh air on the genre, or that its entire second half isn't complete shit.

3 was harder than 1.

people only thought 3 was easier because they got gud by playing 1.

It isn't an RPG, though.

>Are you implying the combat in any souls game is something other than mediocre?
not him but i am outright stating the combat in souls games is absolutely fantastic and few games can surpass it

Dragon's Dogma

You level up different stats and roleplay as a character, can you tell me how that isnt an RPG?

Well then, you're a p“leb

Dark Souls was only ever hard because most people didn't play Demon Souls and didn't know what to expect.

All of the souls games are super easy, even more so when you know what to build and even more so when you've played a game in the franchise before.

Dark Souls is still the best game though. Dark Souls II is legit a horribly coded game, and a horribly designed game. III is really boring. Bloodborne, every build plays and feels the same.
