Never played DS3, but why does rolling costs so little stamina? On DS1 it costed a lot more

If you want to do this the plebest but easiest way, get the Dragonslayer Greatshield, upgrade if you can and that's it.
Hide behind it and laugh at his thunders, then attack and hide again.

Get accustomed to his attack timings and just roll, attack, roll, attack. Don't be greedy, attack just once.

I sort of call bullshit on this Webm. The lightning bolt without a doubt should have damaged him as it wiggled across the ground, and he rolled too late to avoid the boss's other main attack. Without a doubt, at least two of those four attacks should have hit him.

Took me about 4 attempts to beat Nameless king, and he's not impossible per se, but I know bullshit when I see it.

They sped the combat way the fuck up from the previous entries. I-framing through attacks went from an option to an absolute necessity. Since so many enemies in the game are fast as fuck and endlessly spam attacks you need to be able to spam rolls like a madman even with base stamina.

If you're not laying the beatdown on the Nameless King quick enough to stagger him at least once for a riposte, you aren't fighting hard enough.

He has like three moves that can be dodged easily and the rest are bullshit.

Namless king is all about timing and watching your stamina.
Once he gets into phase 3 he becomes easy because he uses less bullshit moves and gains a few easy to dodge ones.

Don't use a shield, roll, and spam R1.

The King has a mid-lenghth weapon, always be directly at him and walk around him.

"just don't get hit lol" is the most useless piece of advice ever. With a health bar that you can increase via leveling, different types of armor that lower damage taken, and the amount of healing they give you, I feel like the devs excepted that some filthy casuls might indeed get hit occasionally.

Of course there are games more difficult than Souls games, half of the challenge of them as a first time player is simply figuring out what the fuck you're doing. That doesn't matter much when they're completely different types of games. Even if they are the same genre it doesn't mean people can't find souls games challenging.

I had the reverse problem. Dragon was annoying as fuck to kill, but the king was fairly easy.

He took me a few tries, but all you need to do is account for the delay he puts on his attacks. Once you've cracked that, it's a standard souls fight.

It's ds3 stop using shields and learn to dodge, you'll be glad you did once you PvP, I was a shield scrub in Des and ds1 +2 until ds3 PvP lead me to let go of the scrub life

My first time killing him I ended up having to get the last 3 hits in with a Crossbow/explosive bolts. At the time I hadn't really thoroughly explored the game and only had 6 estus flasks. That fucking dragon is such a pain in the fucking ass though. The only weapons that can hit it without it breathing fire are large weapons that have vertical swings. Good fucking luck with a broad swiping weapon or like me, a standard battleaxe.

I felt like such a scrub that on my 2nd character I went at it with no shield, two-handed my greatclub, and kept poise breaking/ criticla hitting that motherfucker.
