I've beaten Bloodborne and the rest of the Souls games but this shit is making me hit my head against a wall. I don't know what the fuck I'm doing wrong, somehow through sheer fucking anger, I managed to finally beat sen's fortress using up 10 hours of my life then getting my shit kicked in by those Giant Dads and Gargoyles with spears.

Use shield.

run past them

git gud

I think getting the Black Knight Halberd ruined it for me, too much stat investment and it's moveset is fucking garbage

>Wait four seconds for this attack to complete so you can roll

Might make a new character, what's a good weapon?

The BKH is literally the best weapon in the game.

Black Knight Halberd

what are you smoking, user? black knight halberd carried me through this whole game.

the only time it has shitty frame data is if you miss, just don't throw out randy attacks until you know they'll hit

Press the roll button to dodge their attacks

as someone who only recently played this game for the first time, if you're struggling with an area just go back and do a bunch of other shit till you're higher levelled, or just look up a guide.

there's no shame in using walkthroughs or internet guides with souls games.

best weapon? you should try out the git gud

>game can be beaten sl1
You're bad and should feel bad

don't listen to this faggot. if you use a guide before beating the game once you're scum.

OP what are your stats? equip load? are you locking on? BKH is really good DPS wise but i agree its really slow.

git gut fag

High stability shields with 100 phys resistance.

>tfw I got all the way to Gwyn at SL1 but just couldn't beat him after at least 50 attempts, had to give up

I could get to within one or two parries away but just couldn't quite pull it off...

if you want to be OP get 40 dex and as much faith as possible, +15 falchion 2-handed r1 spam with lightning blade GG

>if you use a guide before beating the game once you're scum.

fromsoftware literally encourages the souls community to use their shared knowledge to get through the game with the soapstones. trying to go through souls 1 without a guide for the first time is doable but not fun at all and I play games for fun

just because you can doesn't mean you should

there's a difference between using a wiki and using signs left by players. i'm also positive like 90% of the people who played DS1 for the first time did so without a guide and had "fun" so go fuck yourself

Level 38

VIT: 18
ATT: 8
END: 15
STR: 32
DEX: 18
RES: 11
FTH: 9
INT: 9

It's strong as fuck, but it's too slow and destroys my stamina

I tried to avoid spoilers and wiki stuff. But I had to look up how to progress in Anor Londo. I didn't see any indication that those archways were traversable, even if I knew where I had to go.

god damn that END is painful. its the best stat in the game. are you fat/slow rolling? health isn't bad but it wouldn't hurt to be a bit higher. i'd also say you're maybe a BIT underlevelled for anor londo. maye try the claymore? halberd? fits well with your damage stats.

>res 11

get vit to 30 and end to 20 ffs

well, whatever. DS1 was a phenominal experience for me and it was not destroyed by me looking up how to get to Sif without climbing the ten-mile-long ladder in Darkroot Basin every time.

that's not to mention all the arbitrary bullshit you have to do to get all the story sidequests. yes you should try to use context and world clues to get through the game but there's literally nothing wrong with using a guide every once in a while

balder side sword is what you want but it can take a long time to drop

I mustve looked up some stuff at least once or twice. Guides don't ruin th egame at all, in fact I enjoyed the game so much I went back and beat it on SL1 again.

Right now I'm playing bloodborne and I just looked up ROM after my first try since I just felt I was doing it wrong and didn't fully get why.

my favorite weapons are claymore and halberd.

>Balder Side Sword when he's already got 32 points in Str
Go with a Longsword or Claymore, OP. You're too heavily invested to switch to Dex now.

Boost VIT and END. At this moment your best bet is to go for a straight-up strength build. Try the Claymore or Zweihander, I ended up alternating between them depending on mood.
Claymore is more versatile, as it is viable to use with a shield. Zwei is two-handed only, but it'll knock the fuck out anything you hit with it.

user BKH is the best weapon in the game.

It's so good that the DaS speedrun hinges on getting one early then just assblasting the whole game with it.

claymore/zweihander

If you are stuck in sens for more than an hour you are refusing to take your time or pay attention.

Just take your time and treat it like it's the first time you've seen this area, which it was.

Get the Zweihander, MAX STR, and mash the overhead swing on every fucker who looks at you funny. Even Gwyn.

Thanks, anons. Gonna go with Zweihander now. Is there a way to reset your build like in DS2/DS3?

You're not really best off fighting those enemies. After clearing the two miniboss gargoyles out most players just run past the giant dudes and spear gargoyles because what comes after them is much trickier.

This

nope

Your build is strong trash. Invest the rest of your points into health + end until you hit 40 on both.

This method works but isn't fun at all.

Much more entertaining to use quick weapons and roll around dodging and getting in strikes rather than overpowering swings.

It can, but how many people did that blind, on their first playthrough? It's a whole different kettle of fish playing at SL1 when you don't know the enemies/bosses movesets and all the enemy/trap locations.

Game is literally built around shared knowledge. You are what is wrong with souls fanbase.

BKH is OP. Basically get the right rings for your build, glass crest shield, and the halberd and you're gucci. armour doesn't matter too much, try and keep it as light as possible to you get the quickest roll available

>Is there a way to reset your build like in DS2/DS3?
No, Dark Souls is good.

Rolling around like a little faggot poking enemies with a toothpick isn't my idea of fun.

What the fuck user.

Fucking THIS

are you so autistic you need the internet to tell you how to enjoy a game? i even said there's a difference between messages and using a fucking wiki.

>Full Giants armor
>Buckler
>Chaos Bandit Knife
>Fast roll with havels ring and fap ring

>tfw made some weird ass Mage with enough STR to hold the BKH with two hands with very little HP
>blast through the game with upgraded BKH and spells but be completely irrelevant in PVP
>friend keeps complaining why I keep dying from a few hits from bosses as he wears full havel

>the irony in this comment is he and literally everyone in here is "guiding" OP

Cheat Engine if you're playing on PC.

It's an EZ way to make PvP builds too.

did you beat Demon Souls too? its basically that

Are you so narcissistic that you can't see that telling someone that they are scum for using a guide IS telling them how to enjoy the game? fuck off hypocrite.

>I've beaten Bloodborne and the rest of the Souls
>hasn't played Dark Souls 1
>just now getting to it.
Disgusting.

Kill the merchant in the undead burg and use his uchigatana

>kill the only source of repair powder before the DLC to use his easily-broken weapon
excellent plan
