The bad endings were probably the most horrific experience I've ever had in vidya, getting the good ending was near impossible without a guide.

Pretty interesting but I thought it got a bit corny by the end though.

The bad endings are basically different parts of the book's ending with the narration separated between all of the characters instead of just from Ted's point of view. I'll admit the imagery in the game adds to the creepiness of it though.

Yeah. But I don't think it would have done it any favors going further with the dark and edgy either. Something more grounded would have been preferable.

gone home almost feels sick and twisted when you're learning about the grandfather and the history of the house but then you realize you might as well be watching paint dry because you can't do anything and nothing can harm/happen to you in any way which ruins it completely.

No, he's right. It's shoehorned. The developers of the game wanted to add a good ending but the author didn't like the idea. They went against his wishes to add it.

It definitely travels into the batshit and extremely bizarre quite often. I remember the Samantha sex scene causing quite a stir with some at release. Susie graphically describing her psychotic past deeds with weird emoticons sprinkled in was entertaining but kinda disturbing. Fuck, Curtis from your pic beheaded a child, delivered it to the father while bragging about raping his wife.

Even though I liked NMH I'm sad we won't see anything this insane from GHM/Suda again. Seems they're set on goofy hip stuff instead of straight insanity now.

Fucking Saya no Uta.

It's one of those games you can't casually recommend or even recommend at all irl. I played it, loved the OST, felt disgusted, horrified, and my favorite ending was one of the downer ones. I basically had to trick my friend into playing it and although he liked it he cursed me for a while.
