Pc BTFO.
This is the absolute best vr experience to date. Almost worth buying a psvr just to play it right.

It's pretty fucking great, but holy shit VR makes me nauseous as hell

It took me a little bit to get used to it. I have been playing with the smooth camera and have been ok. I just had to get used to turning my head while I move the camera

nice shilling but this is the ultimate VR experience.

I like the PC version but would also like to play this in VR! Seems great!

>This may actually be a good game just because it's nothing like the latest RE games
They could only go up from there.

They get it after a year which is fine.
Or am I imagining that I read that?

I'm fine with exclusives but with VR being so small I feel like everything should be on anything that can handle it.

it was only made for PSVR which is not something you can just quick port to Oculus/Vive. Unlikely to come to PC desu

>which is not something you can just quick port to Oculus/Vive
Actually not true. It's not even that hard to HACK VR support into a game let alone what Capcom is capable of.

Sony paid for exclusivity to push their latest gimmick and it might even just be timed.

As much as I love the exclusive, this really is a system selling experience and should be available on all headsets to further the platform.

>buying a PSVR for fucking RE7
ahahahahaha

Shit game. Shit shill thread.

Post RE grills

Do you actually know what you're talking about? Be honest.

kys

DEJA VU

>only made for PSVR which is not something you can just quick port to Oculus/Vive.
not true, you just need to change the fisheye intensity and resolutions.
Porn companies already produce porn in 4 different VR formats in order to account for Rift, Vive, PSVR and smartphones.

Thats what I said, or meant to say if I wasn't clear enough.
Exclusives are all well and good but vr games should be on any platform that can handle them.

I say it like that cause there are probably a few games psvr can't quite handle as well as the vive, then again the Brooklyn experiment devs fixed that by having a button to 180 turn.

Eh, did some research. It's timed.

>A Resident Evil 7 ad, recently seen on Facebook and posted to Reddit, states, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard coming in 2017 and exclusive to PlayStationVR for 12 months." So while the game is slated to hit the PC alongside consoles in January, the VR version—which is presumably the one that Rift and Vive-equipped horror-heads will want to play—may not come our way until early 2018 at the soonest. And it may not come at all: "Resident Evil 7 Biohazard will be available for PlayStation VR at launch on 24th January, 2017," a rep said. "Capcom has not confirmed any other VR formats at this time."

>An ad for Batman: Arkham VR, noted by Kotaku, makes a similar disclaimer: "Exclusive to PlayStation VR until 31 March 2017." Unlike Resident Evil 7, Arkham VR hasn't been announced for the PC, but the PSVR exclusivity note might be a hint that it's coming. (It might also be nothing more than the casual tossing-around of the word "exclusive" that marketing departments like so much.)

Putting this aside, it's been known since before E3 that RE7 in PSVR is some of the worst VR people have experienced even compared to the DK1. Massive amounts of nausea and shit.

Yeah I do. There's a fucking Dolphin fork that supports VR let alone the massive mod communities hacking support into thousands of games that don't natively support VR. It's fucking trivial, you'll see Vive/Oculus support within a couple of weeks tops unless people don't care about the denuvo'd reboot which would make sense for so many reasons.

>bought game because I enjoyed the demo
>not hyped but optimistic, bet it will at least make for a fun evening
>it's worse than 5, 6 and even The Evil Within
>request a refund just before the 2 hour mark
casuals will probably like it though, it was pretty obvious they were catering to them when they started flying e-celebs out to play it for ads.

you both are pathetic

whatever man, enjoy your game.
I'm not telling you not to, I just like Resident Evil personally.

get a real job

Confirmed. I shit on my pants ;_;

clearly you dont

Best Resident Evil in years. 5 was shit, 6 was shit. Finally 7 redeemed the series.

>Game freezes for me when Ethan crawls through the water in the basement.
>Not even 15 minutes in.

I bet it's fun on PS4...

The opening sequence in the gest house was the scariest fucking thing I have ever played.

Just gonna wait for CPY to crack it, not bout to spend money on yet another amnesia-like with zero of the resident evil goofiness

VR on PC was confirmed for a year though, I'm going to wait

>casuals will probably like it though
But it's exactly like your first resident evil, are you saying they're casual?

jack is goofy as fuck, if you think its some outlast/amnesia shit then you should actually play it, its pretty solid so far

Did anyone else not want to kill jack? I was having fun with him :/

There's one goofy moment in between all the by the book nu-horror shlock. Don't know if it's RE tier goofy or just shit goofy

webmshare.com/Avjvj

can you explain why?
this game doesn't play like RE and according to those who beat it, there's little plot significance to RE.
It's slow paced, the puzzles are simplified and the scripted cues for each event are super obvious.
Why do you people keep saying this?
Classic RE emphasized movement, action, suspense.
Movement is very restrictive in this game because half the enemies have specific pathing intended for you to walk around.
The others slowly walk towards you and this is where it starts feeling like Revelations.
The game does not feel like RE at all in gameplay or design, there are some small tributes like herbs, item boxes, what you could call a saferoom and puzzles, but it feels like they were only included as a pittance to pretend it was going back to the roots like they claimed.
Just superficial additions in order to distract from how it's just like every other modern horror game on steam, they decided they wanted the streambate audience and boy did they get it.

If you already have the headset, I would recommend waiting. Vr is the definitive way to play, if you don't get motion sickness.

It's a game of its own
It is like original re because the movement is limited. The originals weren't about movement are you retarded? The fixed cameras gave you a hard time to see things
The first person does the same

>Shit game
>posts RE5 Jill
>Best Jill.jpg
disgusting taste all around.

>5, 6 and even The Evil Within
>implying TEW was anywhere as bad as 5 or 6

>Classic RE emphasized movement, action, suspense.

Confirmed for not knowing what he is talking about

>it's ok when RE4 does it

Just because i like one gourmet meal slightly more then another doesn't mean i have shit taste.

>Shit game
This on the other hand, just embarrassing

Try this one for size:

Sheva > Jill

Oops meant for

This game is too weird for casuals I'd say

It's pretty fucking cool and I'm trying hard not to miss anything. I just got the 3 dog heads and got outside now there's a trailer/save room with a VCR in it. Did I miss a tape or do I find it later?

>doesn't mean i have shit taste.
>Sheva > Jill
yeah, no.

The first games heavily emphasized movement, you could zip around enemies and try to avoid getting grabbed, minimizing damage, trying to explore the map.
Fixed camera was in order to make it feel more immersive despite being 3rd person.

A 1st person RE could have been great if they preserved the gameplay philosophy of the classic games but they didn't.
You spend an inordinate amount of time slowly shuffling through crevices, walking through empty rooms and doing scripted 1st person cutscenes.
I don't really like RE4 THAT much but yes, that game is faster paced and has a more complex combat system.
I would duck RE4 for its shitty QTEs just as much as RE7 for its shitty scripting, but at least RE4 is more sparse with its non-gameplay filler.
then how come I can talk about my opinion in detail while all you guys can come up with is
>nah man it's fine, the original games were just like this

>Unlikely to come to PC

It's coming. The VR part is just timed exclusive to PSVR for one year. Right around the time the last of the season pass content rolls out.

>walking through empty rooms
LITERALLY resident evil 1 2 and 3

uh, no.
RE1-3 had enemies constantly filling environments from the start of the games.
You face your first killable enemy within the 3rd room of RE1, if you include the main hall and the dinning area as the first 2.
In RE7 it take half an hour and that's if you include Mia.

Because the original games have nothing to do with action or movement. You actually said that it's not like the original because the movement was restricted. Type as much as you want, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Face it, vanilla is out and chocolate is in

First off, there's a lore reason for that
The only enemies are the Bakers and the molded, who are in molded areas. Your first enemy is mia, and she's met relatively early.
Plus it's not meant to be an action game, it's supposed to make you check corners and conserve ammo.
Not to mention this is in first person
The fixed camera angle made it not as scary to run through hallways so they filled them with enemies.
Since this is first person it's more immersive and freaky

One of the streamers I watched cleared the game in 6 hours.

6 hours for 50 euros? Modern game industry is a pathetic joke.

Fuck her for
>Being in a worst RE game
>For being the worst AI controlled character in history of vidiya
>being bland

>n-no you don't get it because I said so
amazing post user.
go find a hugbox if you don't like it.
RE had 1:1 movement input, RE7 has this slow, cumbersome movement because they overscripted everything and wanted it to be playable in VR.
if RE7 let you move at classic RE speeds and play it like a real game it would be a lot shorter than 8 hours that's for sure.

If you are just gonna spout autistic lies then we can't continue this conversation user

I'm really enjoying it so far, just finished the chainsaw duel with Jack. Everything is very well done in every respect, but I'm doubtful it will have much replay value.

I didn't say sheva was bad, but saying she's better than jill is RE:Rev levels of delusion.

You aleo have to Remember that you play as a regular guy, not some action super soldier who's scared of nothing. Realistically in a situation like that you wouldn't sprint around full force like a fucking moron

Not him, but Sheva is barely chocolate. It's more like a paint job.

I think she's better than RE5 "let's make her a generic blonde" Jill, but old Jill beats her out.

>RE5 is not the worst RE game
Spin-offs don't count into this, when we talk about purely numbered RE titles then RE5 is the worst by far.

She is also a mistake because this is where Capcom started try to put emphasis on shitty co-op

BUT user WESKER COULD DO THE MATRIX WASNT HE SO COOL WITH HIS TRENCHCOAT AND DESERT EAGLES!? GLOBAL SATURATION AMIRITE HAHAHA

I liked sheva and I liked RE5 with a friend. My first RE game was RE1 director's cut. I find RE4 pretty boring and overrated.

>and she's met relatively early.
I kept checking my steam in-game time.
It takes about an hour to meet your first molded and I was moving through it pretty briskly, only time I wasted was checking drawers.
Mia's fight trying to escape is 20-30 minutes in.
>Plus it's not meant to be an action game
then you admit it's not true to RE's roots.
>Since this is first person it's more immersive and freaky
it should but since you can predict every scare because "this looks like a breakable piece of wood" it really reduces that.
Shame, the demo actually was somewhat spooky.
Not a bad point but I idolize gameplay over plot contrivance.
Being slow and taking forever to do anything may be more realistic, but it's not nearly as fun.
Lack of fun being what I listed as my reason for a refund request.

>Sheva is barely chocolate

What kind of retarded fucking shit is this? I said chocolate not fucking charcoal. Are you implying she doesn't have nigress features? Because that's really dumb

RE is a survival horror game, not an action game.

Yeah, you can expect jack rounding a corner because the wall looks slightly moist.
You're picking straws

>He actually thinks that tank controls where built for speed and mobility

>Are you implying she doesn't have nigress features?

Yes.

Action Horror>Survival Horror. Deal with it.

Has this been cracked?

>Yes

> that's really dumb

You must be the Rebecca is Japanese autist from the last thread

Seriously thought, why do resident evil fans get so defensive at the slightest thing

Holy shit, calm down.

they were built to produce a more 1:1 control system in a 3rd person game, improving immersion.
You can play remake with relative controls and it's just not the same.
When you run through classic RE the tank controls lets you serpentine carefully through hordes and knowing the map makes all the difference in the world.

Again, I'd like to re-iterate I don't dislike RE7 because of the perspective.
I believe perspective shouldn't matter much, you can make a classic survival horror in 1st person.
The problem is that the gameplay was not preserved, they changed design philosophy completely likely because fast paced, actioney movement in VR makes people feel sick.

>Molded despawn and regain all their HP when you kite them too far from their spawn
What is this, a fucking MMO? I've been enjoying the game, but that's annoying as hell since it's just a massive resource drain if they despawn at 3-4 headshots.

But RE'S roots are survival horror, not action horror.

nobody will be talking about resident evil 7 in a month , all this game is doing is following popular horror game trends . the developers saw p.t. and outlast and amnesia and decided they would make a game based around the same ideas. sorry a texas chainsaw family isn't scary.

>doing okay
>find the "mia" tape
>get caught by Marguerite because of epic 2spooky "the door closed itself and locked behind you" shenanigans
>sent back to the last tape recorder instead of the beginning of the tape

Now that just isn't fun.

>here let me point out these "flaws"
>Oh no he's refuting them calm the fuck down shill virgin Autist fanboy

That's fine if that is your preference, but the original games where not action games, nemesis being debatable. Your whole argument is baseless.

It's acceptable to prefer Jill to Sheva. It's not really fair on Sheva since Jill has been the poster girl from day one

this game is not Resident Evil at all

this.
people are trying to rationalize it now.
I did too, but then I realized I shouldn't need to justify a game to myself, I should just want to play it and not stop until I'm done.
That's why I broke down and requested the first refund I've ever requested.
It just doesn't make sense trying to convince myself something is fun when I'm clearly not enjoying it.

Am I being trolled?

This, I don't get why the name is even attached to it. It's a complete joke.

Does holding the defense coin actually increase your defense?

RE's roots are in RE4 because no one gives a shit about older games and they were boring and mediocre. Look at the sales and reception and it was before the gaming journalism went to shit and casuals invaded gaming. Admit it RE4 is the only good game in the series.

no you are witnessing someone else's opinion.
crazy right?
It's almost like different people experience and perceive things differently.

>waahhh if it's not fixed cameras with shitty voice acting then it's not resident evil waahhh
>get what you want, a new re with fixed camera etc
>goddammit game isn't fucking changing man!

Now I know you're baiting

And no examples of her apparent nigress features.

That's what I figured.

>You must be the Rebecca is Japanese autist from the last thread
Nope.

no.

>the original re games where action games
Alternative facts

>I don't know what he's talking about and it sounds fake and made up so it's not real

also the vr is a timed exclusivity on the ps4

There's a difference between minor improvements and a totally different game.

You're essentially saying that if Super Mario turned into a copy of Call of Duty tomorrow, people should just shut the fuck up and take it.

Read my post again and point where because that is my genuine opinion AND majority's opinion. ANd again - opinion of people who liked games and were not casuals.

What the fuck do you want me to do? Fax you her face in braille?

Instead super Mario turned into 3d platforming, party games, racing games, etc and people took it and accepted it
That's apples and oranges
You can't compare turning a platformer into a fps with turning a survival horror into a fps

So...like re4?

seems like it

>RE1
>have a gun immediately
>kill a zombie within minutes
>get a fucking grenade launcher and there's a whole system for different grenade ammunition
>multiple giant bosses

>RE2
>starts with giant truck explosion
>run past a flaming wreck through hordes of zombies trying to get to the police station
>immediately able to start clearing out said police station

>RE3
>also start with hordes of zombies around
>have to run past
>meet Nemesis fairly quickly

>RE7
>half an hour minimum before a scripted fight with Mia

classic RE was always about action and rarely if ever scary.

>re1
>have very limited inventory space and not a lot of ammo
I'm guessing you played on the easier difficulties first riiiight
