>need a million add-ons for basic features and battery life
They really are the apple of consoles
Someone post that Frankengameboy with all the add ons
>millions
we're just talking about additional joycons if you want play with more people, pro controller, chargeable pad for the joycons, screen protector, usb battery.
Those are just a few items that make the experience better, but still OPTIONAL, stop with the hyperbole
is sony paying you for counter shilling?
>just that
>muh mobile gaming
>need to carry extra battery packs and adapters
This thing is DOA
cant tell if sarcasm
>wanna play Switch at home?
>get a Joy-Con charging grip or a Pro controller, alternatively just keep your Joy-Cons always fully loaded and prepared for gaming session
>wanna play Switch on the go?
>get a bag + screen protector pack as well as a Power Bank
>want both?
>get the mobile stuff and see how long the Joy-Cons will last you on home play
Easy as that.
I'm not getting a switch though, due to lack of games.
BUT IT HAS SKYRIM! Have you played it yet?!
>3DS had 3 hours battery life
>phones have 3 hour battery life when playing games that need power
>due to lack of games
Bait.
JUST BUY THE WHEELS SEPARATELY LMAO WHAT'S YER PROBLEM???
>battery life
Just like any portable device running intensive games for their respective device.
The switch would need to be an extra cm thicker if it wanted an extra hour or two.
I wish someone would work on better battery technology because it's still the same shit from over 10 years ago.
I'm not getting Switch, because I have no interest in badly made Nintendo games.
And you pay premium for every single of them. Than again, that's Nintendo for you.
Im not getting a Switch because I'm a grown man who fucks women.
gross
Bait.
>fucks women
???
I bought Skyrim for less than two bucks on Steam, played it for an hour and quit it. No interest in charging full price just to give a game, that I didn't like, a second chance even though I already own it. inb4 "owning" on Steam
Tell me one exclusive launch-titel that could get me to buy a Switch!
who the fuck proper nouns a product name?
You can't get Skyrim for two bucks on steam no matter what sale. Lier.
>they're are people who will WANT to play in portable mode and not docked
what's the point seriously?
Pretty sure it was less than two bucks. Maybe I traded for a TF2 key, which was two bucks at the time. I don't know anymore. The point is I'm not gonna pay that much cash for a bargain bin game that I didn't even enjoy.
>fucks women
Keep telling yourself that kid.
>being so salty that someone is fucking women that you attack their correct grammar
you forgot the external hdd since the switch has virtually no memory storage. And a charger for your phone since you will need to use it for your voice chat and matchmaking.
Have you never seen somebody capitalize a console name before
Isn't the battery life just about on par with the 3DS's? Why is it suddenly a problem now?
>DUDE JUST BUY MORE ACCESSORIES INSTEAD OF EXPECTING NINTENDO TO GIVE THEM TO YOU FOR FREE FOR THE PRICE THEY'RE ASKING
>bargain bin
>mosz played/modded RPG even after 6 years of its release
Hipsterfaggot
it takes microsd you fucking idiot. and it uses the same charger as literally every phone. fuck you.
I literally see Skyrim in the bargain bin of my local electronics retailer every time I go there.
I don't give a fuck about how many people played or enjoyed it.
Neither its popularity nor the fact that I can find it in a bargain bin say anything about its quality.
Stay mad, cunt.
>People still think the charging grip is required to play at home without the JoyCon batteries dying in minutes
Do people here play for more than 20 hours in one session? They each have 20 hours of battery life and they charge when on a docked Switch connected to power or when playing in portable mode with the JoyCons attached and connected to power.
so this... is the power... of an usb powered device... wow.....
>you can just go spend 100 bucks on micro sd cards and swap between charging your phone and your game system
I almost feel bad for Nintendrones at this point.
>Do people here play for more than 20 hours in one session?
I'm sure of it.
>do people here play for more than 20 hours in one session?
maybe a couple of autists, but the majority of Sup Forums doesn't play more than 20 hours in one year.
at least you're not buying them from nintendo themselves
Just buy the controller for your smartphone, turn on emulators and you'll be golden. It's like 25 money.
>finish playing on any other console
>hit the power button, put the controller down wherever
>finish playing on the Switch
>turn it off
>spend 10 seconds fiddling with the joycons to get them off the worthless plastic holder you have to use so your hands don't cramp up
>spend another 20 seconds trying to line them up on the base unit for charging
>make sure they're seated properly
>make sure nobody unplugs your console in the meantime
Wow, how could anyone run out of battery life? I mean, all you have to do is 10 times more work than any console ever released previously. And then you have to do the reverse every time you want to play it. I can't imagine anyone being lazy enough to just leave the joycons where they are once, and running out of battery mid-play the next time.
Xiaomi is premium? Could have fooled me.
>spend 10 seconds fiddling with the joycons to get them off the worthless plastic holder you have to use so your hands don't cramp up
>spend another 20 seconds trying to line them up on the base unit for charging
are you speaking from experience? is this what happened when you played the console at the events you attended?
Thanks for answering my question. I have a few of these.
>Bring Sony up for no reason
Every time
Maybe develop some basic motor skills and you won't struggle docking the Joycons.
Also who fucks with someone elses console?
>just spend more money!
No
sonyggers are really scared of an underpowered handheld lmao.
Yeah. The screen part moves around inside too much and you can't support it properly with your fingers to get the handles on. If I actually owned one, I think I'd take the screen out every time to reattach the joycons to, but then you have the potential issue of not re-seating it properly and coming back to a dead unit.
The joycons without the grip are unusable, in the grip they feel like a 3DS with one of those shitty aftermarket grips, it's just about bearable but nothing I'd use for multiple hours. The Wii U was an order of magnitude more comfy.
What I don't understand is who the fuck doesn't have a battery pack in this day and age? Phones have such shit battery they are almost essential these days.
Just use that for every device you have, what is so hard about all of that?
>>Also who fucks with someone elses console?
Maybe plug space is at a premium, or someone gets pissed off by the flashing blue "LOOK AT ME, I DOWNLOADED A NEW AD FOR YOU" front.
I have a charger at home, work and in the car.
If I go camping I want to be away from technology so turn my phone off.
No need for a battery pack
Weird, I have never heard of such a problem from all the hands on except from you. All I have read is that it clicks easily on the base console, and that putting the screen to the dock is easy.
I also heard that using the joycons vertically is alright
Maybe not. Maybe it is only charged through the USB-C and discharged through the USB-A.
False alarm? Maybe, probably.
Then charge it in your car, and you don't even need a battery pack.
Seriously
Get housemates who have some respect then
How much would it take to drain your car battery?
Based Nintendo gives me the choice to buy as much multi-purpose battery and storage as I want at free market prices and lets me upgrade when and how I want.
People who were intelligent enough to put some research into their decision regarding a device that they will use, on average, for four hours a day?
>inb4 muh iPhone
Bear in mind, the vast majority of people trying this thing right now are gaming journalists who have never played a game for more than 2 hours.
If you found the 3DS comfortable, you probably won't have an issue with the Switch. I found it unbearable, even with a grip it was still pretty poor.
You'll also need a house to store the switch in, it isn't water proof so you can't keep it out doors. Jeez, this is starting to get pricey..
>spend more money on a product thats already overpriced due to the gimmicks shoved in that I didnt want.
The damage control is super real, jesus christ
that's great but it would be awkward to carry around
That's the plan.
I'm getting a Switch.
TV at home, comfy handheld at mates places.
Is your phone battery itself not a good retort? How does research even help you alleviate the fact that you need to use your phone a lot, and that it has shit battery life?
But did you play for two hours? I thought there were limits at the event
I don't know, I really don't see in any way how using the joycons vertically is anywhere near as uncomfortable as the 3DS
My phone has a 6000mAh battery.
Why doesn't your phone?
Why the fuck would I need a powerbank?
>complaining about a wii u feature
>when talking about switch
>doesn't just turn off the ads
Jesus Christ
>USB C
>literally any phone
You are assuming the Switch is capable of drawing enough power to charge it's batteries when it's on.
I guess it'll vary depending on how big your hands are, but it's hard to get a good wrap-around on the top. The triggers are annoying to use, too. I didn't get to play it for long, but I know all about strain points from the latest awful crop of handhelds, and the Switch is right along side them with that almost featureless back.
They're getting desperate.
It's never been cheaper than $5 for the base game.
It's not microsd user, it's SDXC. While they share the same form factor, sdxc readers aren't backwards compatible.
It would be most efficient if it drew power from the external power bank to stay on rather than charge the internal battery, because less conversion loss.
If it charges and stays on at the same time then you should get better runtime if you have it running off the external power bank while the internal battery is full.
It's fucking hilarious, the desperate viral marketing damage control is just in overdrive this past week. They act like Sup Forums isn't trained to see this shit.
A lot if it's running.
>we're just talking about additional joycons if you want play with more people
Nobody is going to want to play with little controllers the size of a fun size twix. If you want to play with other people, that's more pro controllers.
>imblying I will pay out the ass for assholes mooching off my systems
They should be glad that its hori making these cheap pads, and not madcatz.
Switch battery: 4300 mAh x 3.6 V = 15.5 Wh
Lasts for 3 hours: 15.5 Wh / 3 h = 5.1 W power consumption
Car battery: 55 Ah x 12 V = 660 Wh
660 Wh / 5.1 W = 129 hours of playing switch
(actually 10-30% less due to DC-DC converter inefficiency)
Awesome! $700 later, we can finally play on our severely underpowered tonka toy console!
>Plz gaiz come play with me
>Thanks 4 comin gaiz, but fuck you mooches
>Here is your shitty cheap half-functional controller, because fuck you for coming over after I begged you to come look at my shitty Nintendo toy.
You must be an awesome host.
As a matter of fact I am.
I offer them the finest couch coop gameplay experiences.
If I wanted to repel people Id get a PS4.
>Bringing up the fact that someone mentioned sony
Every time, without fail.
>mfw I'm not poor and already have a USB C phone so there are chargers littered throughout my house already and in my car
Like. Even if I go on a road trip with my partner, I won't have to buy a travel kit since I'm already good to go on that front.
USB C to USB C is not very common. Most of the cables I've seen all have A male connectors on one end because A is still the standard, and can still be USB 3.1
>my partner
Is he handsome?
Reminder that pretty much everyone has a few wiimotes lying around, and maybe even a few Wii U controllers.
There is literally ZERO REASON why the Switch couldn't support them. I could pair up a Wiimote for some 2P-4P fun in half my fucking games. Thanks Nintendo, I can't wait to buy a console that doesn't support any of your old stuff.
The Wii supported GC stuff. The Wii U supported Wii stuff. The Switch supports nothing, zero backwards compatibility. You think any of the people who skipped the Wii U are going to buy this turd?
>0000
I FUCKING MADE YOU
>cost of Switch: $299
>cost of battery pack: $99
>cost of 200GB SD card: $79
>cost of Nintendo Network: $59 a year
>cost of second set of joycons for ARMS MP: $89
>cost of cost of joycon charger grip: $49
>cost of Ethernet adapter forgettable online play: $29
>cost of Zelda, ARMS, and Splatoon2 due to no pick-up deals: $59 each
Total cost: $880 taxes not included.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Why not just buy a PC at that point?
while I agree on the price being ridiculous, you can't compare a pc to a portable console
and I don't think $880 can get you a laptop/tablet that's not trash for gaymen
What country do you live in? Why do you need so much memory so soon? Source on that Nintendo Network fee?
Nice try Nintendrone shilling the Switch. Here's the real run down:
>finish playing on the Switch
>fiddle around for 10 seconds to find the power button
>spend 3 seconds turning it off
>have to spend 30 seconds (you need both hands to unlock one joycon, nintendrones ignore this fact) fiddling with the joycons to get them off the worthless plastic holder you have to use so your hands don't cramp up
>have to spend 10 minutes making sure they are seated properly
>have to pay your bodyguard $300 more to guard your console to make sure nobody unplugs it
So its not just the 10 times of work you lightly said while moving the goalposts, its nearly 2 HOURS. Tell Nintendo they need to pay you more.
>365180000
>battery pack $99
>extra storage $79
>Nintendo network more expensive than Sony or Microsoft
>buying another set of controllers for one game, that has online multiplayer
>implying $2 ethernet to USBs aren't readily available
>implying buying games is an expense on the console's price
>$2 ethernet to USBs are readily available
Except they won't be supported by Switch
Yes they will. I have used the same one on my Wii U and Razer Blade
>and I don't think $880 can get you a laptop/tablet that's not trash for gaymen
Nintendrones everyone...
Boy would you be surprised. What if I told you.... You could buy a gaming laptop for $600?
>You could buy a gaming laptop for $600
That GF 940M won't run anything more complex than WoW, bruh.
