Why is my right thumb faster than my left? I sometimes press the square button repeatedly too fast when doing specials
How do I be more synchronized?
How do I move the control stick for specials without jumping once in awhile?
Street fighter 5
Bump
Bump
Are you right handed?
Yeah, you?
I mean, I can't really says this is an excuse, but. I play a lot of Mobas, WoW, so I tap my keys a lot. I mean hell, I play on keyboard because I can't afford a pad or a stick. And I catch myself mashing the input for specials and it generally fucks me over.
Honestly I figure it just takes practice of self control, having to sit in the lab and forcing yourself not to mash mid combo or learning your stick control better.
You're right, I grew up playing ganes with quick time events so I'm so used to speedily pressing burtons
Also yeah, I'm right handed.
I'm still trying to fix my bad habits but, again that's probably why I'm silver.
Just practice. Simultaneous presses are a motor skill you might need to develop.
Also use the fucking d-pad.
>Also use the fucking d-pad.
I never understood this, the d-pad isn't comfortable to use at all. Sure I can dash faster on it, but doing inputs feel weird on it.
Being able to execute shit faster is always superior.
You just arent used to a dpad because you most likely picked up playing on the controller after the 2D generation.
Rule of thumb: 2D movement d-pad, 3D movement analogs.
I mean, you can do whatever you want, but its really not that good for analogs. They arent designed for direct directional inputs. They got more travel time and its harder to precisely hit diagonals.
Either way, no matter what you wanna use, practice more. Half an hour a day is plenty.
Not a street fighter player however timing is everything. If you're just mashing at buttons you're already doing it wrong. You want to find rhythm and meaning to the way you make combinations to the point where you just do it unconscionably without any effort. Let it come naturally don't force it.
Keep grinding until you get it right but learn to do it right first.
I seem to have more of a success rate inputting combos with the analogue stick rather than the d-pad. Anyone else? I still use the d-pad the majority of the time though because of movement
Execution is all about muscle memory, so yeah, just go to training mode and do 20 special attacks in a row until you don't miss a single one.
Not him but Do you prefer The D pad? Ever since street fighter x tekken I thought analog was better but I may be wrong
Yeah I think my problem is I'm using my right hand too fast. The tines that I do mess uo, my left hand does the motion for the input, but because I hit the attack button a bit faster than I was supposed to, I come out jumping and attacking.
I mean I've stopped doing it too often over tine, but I need to completely eliminate it. My problem started in MvC2 when I used to jump and do the hadoken. Eventually I eased up on it, but because I just started playing SFV again, I think I kinda went back to that mind set
Me
Yes I massively prefer the d-pad on any sort of 2D game and fighter.
Somebody who has been playing analog only for all of his life will most likely feel more comfortable with it.
I use both methods depending on the games so I just switch accordingly.
But I'm also a victim of preferences. I've been playing 2D fighters on stick for a while now, but I seriously cant get used to 3D fighters on stick, so I still play those with pad (but with d-pad).
Also SFxT isnt truly different from any other fighting game.
I just did, got up to 17. I'll keep pushing. Also I noticed what I'm doing wrong. I'm not allowing myself to crouch for a quick moment
Street fighter x tekken was the first fighting game besides smash I really played often. I'm a young fag
Why not get a lobby to practice?
I might. But you know, thanks to this thread I actually fixed my inputs pretty quickly. Thanks bros
