Free, of course.

Free Chaser/Flame is the strongest and most skillful combo. Anything else is for plebs.

Never once figured out how to do the shoulder slide tackle thing when i was a kid.

The 3d is really cool as well. It also includes a mode were you have all the weapons at once but you can't combine them, only use each one individually. Not as cool tho.

Depends. Free is great for just charging into dudes and blowing shit up, but Fixed is superior for bosses, and the minecart stage. You can get movement with Fixed if you know how to use your jumps/slides tactically anyway.

Homing/laser is plebbiest tier. I like two rapids, or rapid/flame for those explosive balls-o-doom. Would love to watch a good flame/laser lightsaber-only run though

Free and start with chaser. Then try to find lightning.

After that I'm set for the rest of the game.

I usually do Fixed and Lazer, let me try something new

Fixed + Lazer sword. Free + homing balls when I'm lazy.

Free on normal levels, fixed on scrolling levels.

Yeah they really went all out with the SEGA 3DS ports. Blazing through all the courses in a tuned car in Out Run is fun as hell.

But then I'd have to play on a 3DS, with its shitty small screen and poor overall feel.

As a child I did exclusively laser/chaser with free aim and fucking loved the game.

Wasn't until I bought it again on XBLA that I actually played with weapons you have to aim.

off-topic but how the fuck do you beat the boss in this game that has like a dozen different forms that he cycles through?

The one in the high speed tunnel? learn the patterns and dodge a lot.

Thankfully i am a rocket scientist so figuring shit imposible for regular plebeians to figure out is easy to me.

I've shown this game to my normie friend and he said that it isn't good because it's too chaotic and the issue of 2 players throwing around each other adds to that.

Throwing each other is the best part.
