Without bringing up games, name ONE good reason that justifies the hate the Switch is getting
You can't
Without bringing up games, name ONE good reason that justifies the hate the Switch is getting
You can't
because this board is full of salty sony fans
It's underpowered and overpriced. This thread is bait-desu.
This console belongs in 2008, not 2017.
Without bringing up STDs, name ONE bad reason not to fuck prostitutes.
monthly fee for online play and a single curated trip to emuparadise
Terrible gimmicks, high price, too many controller options, non charging grip station, awful resolution, made by nintendo.
underpowered and overpriced
I think the price is all right, but the battery life is horrendous.
80 DOLLAR CONTROLLERS
90 DOLLAR DOCK
AND THAT'LL BE 59.99 PER YEAR TO PLAY ONLINE THE WHOLE 2 GAMES THAT USE IT (they're both wii u games btw)
Paid online.
Share button.
Expensive as FUCK. 355 USD in Europe (330 €). Nintendo can fuck off. Ripping Europe off. I would get one for 200 Euros. Won't happen.
It's a degenerate milking simulator
I don't have it in my hands yet.
paid online for no reason
joycons
also its under-powered
xbox one literally $500 at launch
Underpowered
Overpriced
Nintendos shit online infrastructure and UI like always but this time you will have to pay for it
"Free games" you get for subscribing get taken away at the end of the month
Controllers are tiny and look uncomfortable as fuck, if you have normal sized hands you will have to buy the pro controller seperately to enjoy games comfortably
Laughable storage size for 2017, forcing you to buy your own
No disc drive on the dock for multimedia and blu rays, in 2017
Overpriced peripherals
Paid online offering timed demos of 25 year old games
Using an app on your phone to speak to friends (instead of, you know phoning them!)
More expensive than Ps4 or xbox one while playing games at Lower resolutions
but the games are literally the only reason to praise/criticize a console
I don't understand this complaint, it's about on par with every other handheld console's battery life in recent history.
It's not incredible, but calling it "Horrendous" is going a bit far.
Paid online is pretty shit, but I hate PS4 and Xbox for it too.
>overpriced
>high price
I love poor fags.
>Without bringing up games
what the fuck? thst's the point of a console.
>it's wrong when nintendo does it even if they do it better
PS4 and Xbone are not portable.
It's OK when Sony does it
>without bringing up the things this machine is dedicated to making use of, criticize a console that nobody even wants anyway
Neither is the switch, unless you bring a backpack with you any time you want to use it.
It's not Vita 2
Did you really think that would work? Nintendo releases a video game console without video games, and you ask people to name something bad about the system so long as they don't talk about something massively important missing at launch? Are you legit retarded?
>no games
better than most consoles' launch lineup
>paid online
same as Xbone and PS4
>joycons cost too much
see >overpriced
debateable, I think it's a reasonable cost for a portable system of that strength
>underpowered
the foxconn leak suggests otherwise - a leak that, in hindsight, was correct about all aspects that have been confirmed by nintendo since (making it by far the most reputable leak out there)
Literally nobody has ever said this you meme regurgitating faggots.
It isn't about being poor. The Switch itself might be priced well if it were in a market all it's own, but as it is launching into a market with competition, the price makes it look like a wretched fucking value. You ask an average consumer if they want a PS4 for $250 with a game, or a Switch for $300 without one, do you think the Switch is going to appear to be a good value to them?
>Neither is the switch
Yes it is
>it's not about being poor
lol
most of them are either too expensive or too ugly
there isn't a great middle ground
>No media apps like Netflix, Youtube, or Amazon Video
>Overpriced and obnoxiously expensive accessories
>Online lobbies, matchmaking, and Voice Chat tied to a paid smartphone app
>32GB of storage (Not to mention BotW digital already takes up almost half of the space)
>Paid online service
>Charging Grip for Joycon is sold separately
This. If this was renamed Vita 2 and launched at $350 with no games Sup Forums would be declaring it the best thing ever and Sony won etc
...
>better than most consoles' launch lineup
perhaps but its literally 1 game, not much of an achievement
>paid online same as Xbone and PS4
They're not even comparable in terms of usability and quality. Nintendos online awful. It is so primitive and behind, the fact they're charging for it is ridiculous. Enjoy having to use phone apps to chat with friends
>Overpriced
lol
>full of sony fans
>literally dozens and dozens of nintendo shilling threads on a daily basis
it's a good thing i can just put it into the bag i take to work then
...
Bundling it together with the dock when it could have been sold separately and cheaper
Worthless HD Rumble
>out of date memes
Sad desu
Am i the only one worried that if i get too into a game ill accidentally hit the joycon release button, and the switch will fall to the ground and possibly break?
>siiting on the toilet with a tile floor, this is a huge possibility.
fuck off marketer
I already pre-ordered the Switch, so your "poor" comment really has no merit. The system just looks like a bad value at $300 when it comes with no pack in title, and has very few worthwhile launch games. Most people don't care for Nintendo to begin with, I doubt the Switch will make them swoon.
I would actually say games are its strongest point, while the system itself is flawed. I am a complete nintendrone and will buy almost anything related to their famous IPs, but with internal storage being so small, a controller that cant be charged while using it, and a lack of 1080p in the year 2017, you bet I'm a little pissed off.
>Paid online for the worst online infrastructure in the industry
>Controllers are so small your thumbs smash into your fingers when you try to play games
>Can't even manage 60fps in 2017
>$300 for 5 year old hardware
That was easy
Poor battery life
Paid online
Nintendo in charge of pricing
>Koei did a lazy vita > switch port instead of actually putting work into a new version
Woah, Im too shocked for words.
Compare it to the likes of the DS Lite and DSi. I think that for a dedicated gaming console they should have aimed for a minimum of 5 hours. But yeah, maybe that's just me.
>bad value at $300
lol
Do you even understand the concept of "value"? I'm talking to a drunk chimp with an iPad in it's habitat, aren't I?
Not an argument
Way too much added tech, which not only increases the price of the unit, but the peripherals as well. Nintendo has a problem of designing their consoles around certain kinds of games, and that's not really something you should do when you want to attract 3rd party devs.
>a handheld with a tacked on glorified hdmi dock that barely runs games at 720p 30fp when used as intended in 2017
>$299
$250 would have been the sweet spot. Switch is in no fucking way a home console. It's a handheld 3ds successor that you can connect to your tv, doesn't make it a console. Only reason they're marketing it as a console is because they don't want to kill the 3ds brand and so they can charge more.
If the Switch was just a 3ds successor marketing at $199-250 it would have been a nifty little handheld but the tacked on console shit is bringing it down and inflating the price.
>better than most consoles launch lineup
Besides BOTW, which is also gonna be on the U, the only game possibly worth getting is Bomberman, and even that is a stretch.
>same as both
Say what you will about Sony and MS, but at least they give away actual games with their memberships. Nintendo Online is gonna be """loaning""" monthly games that everyone has probably already played, not to mention the smart phone chat app to communicate.
I don't wanna spend money to look autistic in public when I can do that for free by just pretending to love Nintendo products.
Do you? Because if I don't get a benefit from something, it doesn't have value. What value am I missing out on?
The dock is 2 dollars in parts.
>full of sony fans
>literally dozens and dozens of sony shilling threads on a daily basis
>perhaps but its literally 1 game
not true, but I assume you mean 1 good game when you say that. Which, yes, still makes it better than average.
>Nintendos online awful.
*was
We don't know yet, but their aim is to provide better online for the Switch. Hell, we don't even know the price of the online subscription service.
It's the first Nintendo console with paid online.
>you need to download an app on your smart phone to voice chat online
It's not even worth $200, dude.
still better than most console launches
I'll wait until it's properly revealed and priced before judging the online service, not enough is known at present
bad performance as a home console, too big to fit in your pocket as a mobile. does neither well.
3 hour battery life...to start; we know it will degrade quickly to be a 1.5-2hr charge after a few weeks of usage.
overpriced.
online/mobile connectivity is the most retarded model i've ever heard.
there's *4* to start.
You know it's a USB-C adapter, right?
and all of them completely full of sonyggers
you can't have any sort of discussion on anything nintendo without faggots trolling
I'll give you a few, actually:
>Too big to be conveniently portable, despite being the whole purpose of the console
>Too short of a batter life to be convenient in a portable system
>Have to pay to access online features
>No built in web browser
>Voice chat through a smartphone app, also have to pay for the subscription to use it and have a smartphone on you as well to use the voice chat
>Have to pay for a controller that charges the JoyCons while playing games (included item is just a plastic case), along with a portable power supply, Ethernet adapter, and a proper controller
The basic package doesn't even come with a game, so I guess not bringing up games is something Switch owners will be doing a lot of.
No, its literally 1 game you fucking deluded moron. Zelda is all anyone cares about, the rest is borderline shovelware and the next notable games to release are a long way off
>We don't know yet, but their aim is to provide better online for the Switch. Hell, we don't even know the price of the online subscription service.
Christ its fucking nintendo and they're already said you need to use your phone to chat to people. They don't know what the fuck they're doing what it comes to online. As others have said, their online is the worst in the industry charging for it is pretty much insulting to their user-base.
who the fuck carries portables in their pockets...? Carry it in your briefcase, backpack, laptop bag, whatever. BTFO
2.5-6 hour battery life, 3 playing a game like botw. Same or better than the 3ds which has an official 3-5 battery life. BTFO
Not overpriced considering the specs. Literally the most powerful handheld ever made that comes with 2 contorlls full of tech like IR, gyro, HD rumble. BTFO
mobile is only for voice chat so don't lump it in with the rest of the online. i will agree it's a shit way for voice chat to work but as a european, idgaf about voice chat and never use it.
That's one valide criticism you got buddy.
phew, that was easy
>literally
I don't think you know what that word means
>No built in web browser
there's absolutely no fucking way this is true, just saying.
Nintendo probably doesn't want people accessing porn sites from their device or something like that
Games are the good thing about the console. Everything else is revolting. Paid online is fucking awful, and I probably won't even bother purchasing any multiplayer game, since I refuse to pay for internet access twice.
I hope Splatoon 2 bombs because of paid online. Even though I love Splatoon, even if Splatoon 2 is better, even if the online is improved, I still hope it fucking bombs.
Thank God Xenoblade 2 won't have any important online functionality.
again, there's just no way it's true. Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not there, a fucking browser isn't exactly something you show off in your latest console because nobody gives a shit.
>as many as 144 (12*12) nintendo fans
>tens of thousands of users per day
>without bringing up the lack of games, name one good reason why someone wouldn't want to buy a game console with no games
You got me there OP, time to preorder my $600 decorative brick.
Bomberman R looks great. There are a couple of problems with shadows, but otherwise? Well worth the $50.
I'll have 1 amazing and 1 good game on launch. That's more than any console since the Dreamcast.
It won't bomb because online is free until the end of 2017, which is a lot longer than what most people need to play the game before they grow tired.
Nice argument
>ONE good reason
$80 controllers on a console devoted towards local multiplayer.
lolwut
confirmed to not know anything about splatoon. The game got continuous updates and a healthy playerbase for fucking years.
literally not arguing with you though
>Paid online
It's paid to run servers and make the system better, granted I've no idea what it's like, but it's certainly going to be better, it's not the WiiU's online
>Uncomfortable controllers
I went to the event in London and i can confirm the Joy-Cons are surprisingly comfortable, but they certainly don't look it
>Can't do 60fps
Yes it can, MK8 runs at 60 and so does splatoon 2. Just like the other consoles some games can and some can't
>Overpriced for old hardware
It's portable and according to the foxcon leak (which so far seems pretty legit) its nowhere near as underpowered as you're thinking, especially when it's portable too
>without out naming the sole purpose of buying a game console name a reason to buy
The only people left playing Splatoon regularly after the first months are japs and brony tier autists. The rest just plays the splatfests or abandons the game just to play once in a while.
"who the fuck carries portables in their pockets...? Carry it in your briefcase, backpack, laptop bag, whatever. BTFO"
given everyone has a fucking phone nowadays, that's the competitive market. sales for 3DS > 3DSXL because the XL *doesn't* fit in a pocket. briefcase, WTF? are you 70? messenger bags are the best you can expect, and without a clamshel cover that screen is going to fucking crack if you're tossing it around.
"2.5-6 hour battery life, 3 playing a game like botw. Same or better than the 3ds which has an official 3-5 battery life. BTFO"
Granted the battery lives are stated as such, but 5 hours out of a 3DS is easy. don't expect the same performance out of the Switch unless Nintendo has some special sauce in their engineering. Skeptical, but maybe.
"Not overpriced considering the specs. Literally the most powerful handheld ever made that comes with 2 contorlls full of tech like IR, gyro, HD rumble. BTFO"
yeah, so like we should just say now that bundling extra cost for HD rumble and gyro/motion controllers for a MOBILE device is fucking retarded. who wants to be a spastic on public transit playing fucking Arms?
>Too big to be conveniently portable, despite being the whole purpose of the console
Put in in a bag, who doesn't carry a bad around with them?
>Too short of a batter life to be convenient in a portable system
Same battery life as the 3ds
>Have to pay to access online features
Like all consoles
>No built in web browser
No idea if this is confirmed, but that's pretty dumb
>Voice chat through a smartphone app, also have to pay for the subscription to use it and have a smartphone on you as well to use the voice chat
If you're going outside you're going to have a smartphone with you, sure it's not the most convenient way to play, but people are acting as if using a phone to talk to someone is inconvenient
>Have to pay for a controller that charges the JoyCons while playing games (included item is just a plastic case), along with a portable power supply, Ethernet adapter, and a proper controller
Joy-Cons charge when the system is docked, they also have 20 hours of battery life, so just charge them at night
Portable power supplies are common place now and are used for lots of things, why would they include one?
Just use Wi-fi or get an adapter, how many people actually use Wi-fi?
I've played using the Joy-Cons in the grip and seperatly, the only thing that's not "propper" about them is a lack of a D-pad
Try harder
>How many people actually use wi-fi?
Ethernet*
Without bringing up games, name ONE good reason that justifies the love the Switch is getting
You can't
But you're arguing something not needed vs something needed. Something that works with VR and not normal games and something that's required.
Motion controls made for some good games and having two motion Joycons with one controller makes playing them, if they come out on Switch, quite easy.
I can use gyro controls while holding onto the "screen", which is honestly the best way of doing it.
I don't need to screw around with hooking up a TV to play.
HD Rumble could be interesting.
>Put in in a bag, who doesn't carry a bad around with them?
i usually don't since most things i need to carry i can carry in my pants pockets
>Same battery life as the 3ds
so this excuses it?
>Like all consoles
so this excuses it? also the other consoles allow you to talk to your friends and create lobbies without needing a smart phone app.
>If you're going outside you're going to have a smartphone with you, sure it's not the most convenient way to play, but people are acting as if using a phone to talk to someone is inconvenient
and if you're playing on the couch you still need your smartphone near you, it's not that it's inconvenient it's that it's fucking retarded to make you use a smartphone to do things the other consoles can do on the consoles themselves.
>Just use Wi-fi or get an adapter, how many people actually use ethernet?
people who want the best connection while playing online, playing smash on 3ds was a pain in the ass precisely because everyone was on wifi.
You don't need a second pair of Joy-Con as they can be used seperatly for local multiplayer, and they're only $20 more than the competitors controllers
The pro controller is only $10 more too
20 and 30, both xbone and ps controllers will only run you 50 through amazon.
>i usually don't since most things i need to carry i can carry in my pants pockets
And most people carry a bag, do you not work?
>so this excuses it?
The battery life is fine for the 3ds and the switch offers much more hardware intensive games, if you really need more battery life, get a portable charger like everyone else has, battery technology is not advancing as it's hard to make new ones, you want the switch to cost even more?
>so this excuses it? also the other consoles allow you to talk to your friends and create lobbies without using a smartphone app
You only need the app to talk to people, that's confirmed, the rest can be done on the switch itself, it just gives you the option to use the app
>and if you're playing on the couch you still need your smartphone near you, it's not that it's inconvenient it's that it's fucking retarded to make you use a smartphone to do things the other consoles can do on the consoles themselves.
If it's not inconvenient then why do you care? Just keep your smartphone near you. I'm not going to say this is the best configuration, the switch should have put a headphone jack in the controllers and should have chat as a native function, but people are blowing it way out of proportion
>people who want the best connection while playing online, playing smash on 3ds was a pain in the ass precisely because everyone was on wifi.
If it's that important to you then just get the ethernet adapter, most people do not use it, and you can't use an Ethernet port when on the go, it makes little sense given the idea of the switches function of being able to take it anywhere anytime
>Is underpowered, again.
>Full of useless gimmicks that took priority over specs
>only 1 game launch to be realistic
>shit battery unless you play Tetriz
>literelly shit dated storage space
>requires an annual or monthly fee for online
>is not a dedicated home console instead is an abortion of a handheld hybrid
Should i fucking go on? Or do you want me to stop? This is coming from a fucking handheld enthusiast.
