Holy shit Sup Forums I want to play a Kingdom Hearts game. Is this enough to sate my need? Is 0.2 and DDD going to be a confusing trainwreck because I don't know the plot and haven't played a KH game before, apart from the first hour of KH1 when I was younger and had to wrestle the controller out of my brother's hands?
I wish 1.5+2.5 was releasing sooner. Emulating feels terrible unfortunately.

I feel ya, i cant wait to play 1.5+2.5 but in my opinion, you can watch kingdom hearts X(chi) movie without problem because is the prequel of birth by sleep.
I dont know about the aqua story but DDD will fuck you up and you will not understand shit.

This. There is no reason to buy this game full price unless you are already a fan. Buy the collection in march play that shit for a while and maybe you will be satisfied long enough to wait for 2.8 to drop in price. If not then you should buy it but otherwise you are wasting your money right now.

This thing is literally an introductory package to KH3 that requires you to know everything that happened.

But really, the thing with Kingdom Hearts is that there are no spinoffs and you are required to know the story of all games in release order, including all of the secret endings.

No change to resolution since PS3 versions were already at 1080p, it will most likely have anti-aliasing though while PS3 didn't.

Apparently you only get the themes for free if you preorder it on PSN, because this is the first Kingdom Hearts which you can buy off of PSN. It's probably to make up for the fact that digital preorders don't get the pin.

In the previous Kingdom Hearts collections, you get a theme for beating or watching each game or movie respectively. In 2.8 however, each theme costs 2.99 unless you pre-ordered it digitally in which case you get one or all three themes for free, I'm not sure which.

0.2 is fantastic. I spent 4 hours just on my first time through (Proud mode). Much better value than Ground Zeroes for sure.

Apparently the themes are bugged right now in the US and show up as costing money, Square has said they're gonna fix it at some point.

Honestly there are a few good games to pick up playing at, but neither DDD and .2 are absolutely not in that list.

I would say to skip playing KH1 altogether and just watch the cinematics.
358/2 days is actually one my favorite storylines in the KH universe and I think it's required to understand what is happening.
KH2 is the the best game mechanically speaking and often the best point to begin playing at for most people.
