What a shitty time to be a poorfag

What a shitty time to be a poorfag

If you had to pick one, what would you pick?

I might just sell plasma in order to afford both...

I would and am going to choose Yakuza 0 because I'm a fan of the series and have not enjoyed any of the Resident Evil games I've tried.

sound very contrarian to me

Yakuza 0 would be the best bet if it takes awhile to get enough money to purchase something because it will have tons of content to hold you over until you can get Resident Evil.

One of these games is a niche title with a low production run. The other is a reboot of a AAA franchise.

Which one do you think will be harder to find in 2 months?

Hmm, you make a pretty good point

RE7 will probably get sales and lower in price quicker

RE7 is not a reboot, dumbass

Purchased RE7 deluxe edition. All the DLC sounds really good coming out for it.

Might pick up Yakuza if Nioh ends up falling on its ass next month.

This. Also I'd say Yakuza 0 has more content than Resident Evil, and would probably last you longer.
So personally I would go with Yakuza.

Rent Resident Evil to beat in a day and buy Yakuza like a normal person.

>harder to find
the only hard to find yakuza games are the ps2 ones.

you can easily find all the other ones.
Honestly, I think youre just talking out of your ass and just going by the rarity of the ps2 titles.

also
you can get the game digitally

Definitely Yakuza, just on the basis that it has so much shit to do to tide me over till I can get RE7. Plus, RE7's sales will do fine; I actually want more Yakuza localized and that doesn't sell as much.

Does anyone else love everything about the Yakuza series besides the gameplay/combat? Like I really enjoy all the story and mini games and setting and all that but I fucking dread any time I need to fight some dudes.

this

>Paying full price for a download

It's dull at first, but I like it after mostly unlocking all the moves in my favourite style

It is repetitive combat yes but fuck all of the good atmosphere, minigames, and stories. And at least it HAS gameplay in between all of that stuff, most games now would have like, an "Auto-fight" button or it'd be a cutscene.

Depends on the game, 0 is usually regarded as the one with the best combat in the series

>paying scalper prices if the game happens to become rare down the road

>Not buying it now

I like the convenience of not putting a game disc in and just playing whenever I want.

I fucked up my password on the ps store now I have to wait 48 hours give sony my money or but psn cards

>paying full price by buying it now

The only one I've paid more than AUD$20 for was 0

The future is dark after Zero, friend.

Both are great but of course Sup Forums would shill the less popular one.

Why not? you get a cool game, and extra stuff for free

Buy Yakuza.

I bought RE7 from Kinguin for $30. And I beat it earlier today. The story is good but it feel rather short and the coming DLC (you have to pay for) will fill in some questions for the story. So you have to pay to finish the story.

Yakuza has always had a good story, gameplay and as far as I'm aware non story driven DLC.

Damn that Yakuza 4 case is sexy.

Resident Evil personally.

I own all the Yakuza games starting from 3, except for Dead Souls or whatever it's called, but haven't touched them at all because I'm waiting for an opportunity to play Yakuza 1 and 2 first.

>like a normal person.
Normal people aren't going to buy it.

I picked Nioh

Yakuza will last you longer and you'll be supporting one of the few good parts of the industry.

>Can't borrow it
>Can't sell it
>Tied to an account on fucking PSN
>Can't collect it
But hey you will save calories

I picked up Yakuza 0, since I know RE7 is gonna drop in price while Y0 is eventually gonna increase in price.

Haven't even played Yakuza at all, so it'll be a fun first experience.

It won't be bad but could still be a let down.

I wish I had the LE console to go with it, but that's not likely to ever happen.

t. conquered

Yakuza 0

RE7 is going to have a season pass so just wait for the GOTY

>selling games
>collecting games

i can almost hear you tipping your fedora from here

Damn that Yakuza 3 case is ugly.

3 actually had a pretty low print run as well which is why it's still going for $30-40 used unlike most PS3 games that old which run for 1/3 that.

Only with that defeatist attitude they won't.

Hey, you are the one picking digital so you don't have to stand up you fatass

>got Yakuza and KH2.8 today
>KH was just a standard edition even though GameStop's website said that pre-ordering meant you'd get the LE with the outer box and a collector's pin
>was too distracted by the brunette qt ringing me out to look in the bag before leaving

T-thanks...

>I like the convenience of not putting a game disc in and just playing whenever I want.

How fucking lazy are you to take three seconds to get up and put a disc in?

>getting up and putting a video game into a console is considered a workout for you

>le kimawai is bad meme

Apparently it's too much for you, it's crazy how lazy you are

Just got to this guys chapter in 5. If i just do the critical path how long until I beat the game?

I want to finish it before I start my copy of Zero.

well when I am tired I kind of don't want to constantly switch discs and I just play overwatch cause it is already in the console.

Kimawai is meh, 6 is garbage.

Oh god shut the fuck up with the new word you learned on Sup Forums. It's not contrarian at all. The RE games definitley aren't for everybody. He simply answered the fucking question.

>7 hour long jumpscare simulator you can watch on youtube and get the exact same experience because it was made to be streamed
>75 hour pure kino with tons of content
What do you think

>Constantly
How many fucking times do you change games per session

>tfw more interested in Yakuza but not getting a PS4 for 2-3 months

Is RE at least well optimized?

How is the second best Yakuza plot with 0's combat and design "meh"? Also give me a reason that 6 is bad that isn't related to Chinese pandering or the combat being different.

just keep projecting there, buddy. keep shitting up the thread.

Games that I know I'll put serious hours into I buy digitally such as SFV. I find that it helps me work through my backlog since I can have an alternate game in the disk tray.

Not supporting localization of niche titles is why we get watered down waifu-shit or nothing at all.

Congratulations on your anecdotal contribution. Yakuza games have low production numbers. Sega has said this numerous times.

His story is not nearly as long as SAEJIMA TAIGA's, but the all-together epilogue is another 2 hours.

>I like the convenience of not putting a game disc in and just playing whenever I want.
Stay in denial then, you already outed yourself

I chose RE7 but got a refund because it sucks.
I might get Yakuza instead but I've never played the other games in the series.

Man some people didn't get into the series until 4 was out. Makes sense to not pay that much

>plebs ITT playing 0 as their first entry
You're just gonna ruin the other games for yourself.
PLAY THE OTHER GAMES FIRST

Get Yakuza 0. RE7 is good but I finished it in 6 hours while getting 70% of the games collectables.

I picked Yakuza because
>PS4 exclusive
>objectively longer game with a wider array of gameplay
>RE 7 has bullshit DLC plans already---I think we are only a week out from the first piece, seems like cut content given run time
>RE 7 has a bigger production run which means more sales
>CPY will crack RE 7 by the time I finish Yakuza 0 given the speed they've been breaking Denuvo lately

Just seems like the wise decision...even as a non poorfag who could have bought both.

Depends every 2 weeks I will spend a day on the weekends playing videogames and I cycle between SFV, overwatch, and FF15. You be more likely to play games if you don't have to switch the disc

>stand up
>there are people on Sup Forums right now who sit away from their PS4 instead of having it immediately next to them on their desk

Is there a translation guide I can follow while I play Yakuza 1 and 2 HD?

Man I remember getting to the hunting village and just slamming the brakes on the main story.

That hunting minigame had no right to be that good.
>Training with the Old man who channeled the mountain gods
>Punching Bears
>FEEL THE HEAT WITH A BEAR

Could we---newbies to Yakuza---just play this and the upcoming remake? I played like three hours of the original on PCSX2 and it felt ancient and ran poorly on my beefy rig.

Maybe Yakuza 3/4/5 are better jumping in points?

Yes, it's called play/emulate the PS2 versions

Dunno, but the PS2 versions emulate pretty well and I'd say any glitches are balanced out by not needing a guide to play them.

not him but I'm pretty sure you need to emulate Yakuza games in software mode, meaning you're playing at the original resolution.

> ran poorly
M8, did you even have a PS2? It's completely realistic

This man has all the same reasons I do.

Let's start with 6. Without touching the combat and the Chinese pandering. It sets the bar for side activities and mini games to the lowest in the series. One of the major selling points for a Yakuza is left a bare-bones mess. At this point you would think the story would carry it's faults but it doesn't. The setup is a good idea, but how it executes the plot disappointing Especially how the game ends on a shameless cliffhanger.

If you are capable of reading nip, go to the Japanese Amazon page and check out the overwhelmingly negative feedback.

Stay tuned, how Kiwami manages to turn out worse than the game it is remaking is up next.

All the better.

Basically it's not the story you're ruining.

Yakuza Zero is deceptive. It seems to make sense as a good entry point. If you really look at it the mechanical refinement from Yakuza 1 to Zero you'll see its lightyears ahead. Each game made slight tweaks and to go back to 1 would be rough.

Yes, no need to play all of the games if you are not that interested in the series, 0 is a fine starting point.

>completely realistic
It had two dark lines intersecting the screen at all times and sudden frame drops from 60 to 30 FPS on screen transitions plus ghosting on every object in 50% of cutscenes? Seems like a shit game then.

>inb4 toaster
i7 @ 4.3 GHZ, GTX 1070 OC, 32 GB RAM, SSD

Take into consideration a lot of people here are third worlders, where physical games are much more expensive than digital (and if they break into your house they can't steal your digital games right :) )

Skip 1, start with 2 and watch the in-game recap of one. Progress from their by release date. 0 is a terrible entry point because it's combat is so good that going back to older entries is going to be pretty hard. Not to mention the game is best enjoyed to give context and back story to characters you've been playing with for years now. It's a prequel.

As someone who just beat resident evil 7 and enjoyed it, Yakuza 0 will definitely give more bang for your buck.

Pirate RE and buy Gravity Rush 2 instead.

Don't listen to the idiots who think you need to play the previous five games before 0. Yakuza 0, 1 (or Kiwami), or 4 are all fine starting points.

>that rig
>still too stupid to consult the PCSX2 wiki
wew

The problems you listed are all addressed in the game specific page

That's what I assumed. Frankly, I could care less about the story for the few times I attempted to emulate the first two games. That's why I initial suggested if Zero followed by Kiwami (the remake coming West this year) is probably the newbie's best bet or if the PS3 games are good enough?

there are ways to fix this but the easiest way is to just play software mode

Do you have orange skin as well user? How much did you pay for that obnoxious tan?

I really doubt that's the case, i'm from a third world country myself, people just are impatient, physical is a better investment in the long term

I did and they still persisted. If you consult the PCSX2 page you cited, the broken screen lines and ghosting are listed as "active" though "minor" as you could--in theory--sacrifice your eyes and bear through.

Doesn't change the fact the game just felt empty.

Do the PS3 games improve the experience for someone who just wants River City Ransom 3D and Sega emulators and doesn't give a flying fuck about the story.

>I don't care about the story
Then play 0 and only 0 because it's the apex. Or, guy, play be release date like several people ITT are suggesting and enjoy the evolution of gameplay.

Not when you dont plan to resell it and the game is more than double the price.

> hardware rendering

>smug anime face

I'm of course talking of new/recent games, digital is good to have for when you didn't buy a game in their time and it skyrocketed as a used game

>What a shitty time to be a poorfag
>If you had to pick one, what would you pick?

I'm still playing through Gravity Rush 2.... and I'd pick Yakuza 0.

>I might just sell plasma in order to afford both...

How much does that get you? You do it at hospitals?

Yakuza 0 for your moneys worth. 40+ hours vs 8 seems like an easy choice.
