so how many of you guys own a vive? any games worth picking up on it? i'm looking at all those basics like Tilt Brush, Arizona Sunshine and all that other shit but is there anything from indie devs any of you have tried out and genuinely enjoyed?
so far i've used the demo with tilt brush, space pirate trainer, and this weird underwater setting i'm probably going to buy one in the coming months when my tax return comes in.
i own one but really need to move my stuff around to use it
the lab onward should be pretty nifty too

Accounting is a neat thing for being free. Same goes for RecRoom.
Most the motion control titles I have are Oculus. I know there's Revive but I'm not sure how it handles hand gestures, which are needed in some games.
Chase Peterson
dear fucking god you actually brought a rift? yes its called a rift the company name was oculus before jewbook buyout
Austin Rivera
Sairento is good for ninja action, knockout league if you like punch out, Raw Data, there are 2 Serious Sam games out for it, elite dangerous Vanishing Realms, Waltz of the wizard etc
Robert Cruz
Memes aside, it actually pretty decent.
Carson Collins
>EVA vr game never ever
Christian Baker
look nobody questions the hardware is decent for its price however you are actually giving money to a social media company who brought a tech company for insane reasons please dont do this to your self
Owen Diaz
No, I gave my money to Oculus. Different company.
Lincoln Gonzalez
they are a subsidiary of jewbook dont you remember the massive shitstorm a few years back?
Landon Butler
The vive is a better investment for a few reasons, one, it's more consumer friendly where you swap out different parts rather than having to fully upgrade.
2 the technology in the vive is better, there is no point in not waiting a few more weeks to get the thing that is better.
And 3 Oculus/facebook is getting their pants sued off right now, we don't know what damage it'll do to the brand, could be extensive could be nothing.
Onward is also a good game
Gavin Gonzalez
Facebook funded Oculus and has kept out of their way for a majority of things. That 'shitstorm' was just a bunch of paranoid meme shit.
And by your logic, you may as well disconnect from everything and live off grid, because you can't shop anywhere without shady companies taking a piece.
I would definitely say the Vive is better for large roomscale stuff. Problem is they hold that as a standard for all games, even though there's a standing mode in steamVR. Oculus seemed more flexible with roomspace and seated games, which suited my home.
Also the Touch controllers look a lot better than Vive's big clubs. Valve would seem to agree because they're making their own.
Matthew Price
>Also the Touch controllers look a lot better than Vive's big clubs. Valve would seem to agree because they're making their own.
No they aren't, they're making a device that turns anything into a controller, I haven't seen anything with the touch, but the vive controllers while ugly, make sense and are basically as good as you can get.
Vive works for standing, sitting, and roomscale, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about, I've done all three, and I can say that with vive being open source, it's a lot easier for people to work with them.
the point is and always have been dont give zuckerberg money or information, EVER on top of that, way to go overboard with assumptions, im just pointing out facts which hopefully lead to people making better informed decisions and just to add insult to injury they are also behind the "gear VR" bullshit along with samsung
Easton Allen
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades is pretty fun and brings out your inner /k/.
John Phillips
I love Meat Grinder mode
Kayden Brown
Wasn't shown at CES, or at least I didn't see it.
Regardless those function nothing like the touch.
Ryan Torres
>the point is and always have been dont give zuckerberg money or information, EVER
He's the least of your worries if you're that sensitive about your information.
Everything from your ISP to your plugins know what degeneracy you fap to and what shit you pirated. Thing is, you're one in millions doing the same thing, so nobody gives a shit.
Jordan King
onward is worth the hardware alone. you wont want to ever go back to a regular fps. and look into the pros and cons of vive vs rift. Ive used both extensively and would always pick the rift+touch but recommend the vive more often depending on many factors
Cooper Hughes
>implying I'm not using duck duck go
Carter Stewart
>implying google is my first choice of search engine look im not here to do a major take on privacy issues however my point still stands this is getting on a major sidetrack and its definitely time to stop
get out of my fucking head
Christopher Carter
My friend lent me his Vive for a couple weeks. Any good cheap/free things I should play while I have the chance?
>sees .jpg for the first time > has fully informed opinion if you dont know whats in the pipeline dont argue. htc's announcement of those prototype controllers was in direct response to the touch launch. they also are copying the rift harness with built in headphones. both devices have plenty of merits. if your gonna defend your purchase stick to the larger roomscale tracking
Julian Scott
>Regardless those function nothing like the touch.
How so? It has triggers and thumb buttons/pad. It could easily use touch sensitivity to do finger gestures like the Oculus controllers.
Michael Reyes
rec room is great multiplayer hangout with paintball and other things gorn is a simple gladiator game budget cuts demo is amazing must play lazerbait is a 3d version of galcon google earth vr is nifty all free
Jason Hernandez
Thanks
Christopher Adams
so how does everyone else get room for the room scale stuff? i had to use a shared space but the spectators loved to try it too
oh great more stuff i should play now
Oliver King
Moved my couch and coffee table
Helps that I don't have a wall between my living room and kitchen
Jaxson Myers
Everyone with a Vive/Rift should get into Onward
Best online shootin experience out right now
Dylan Myers
Didn't see anybody mention Holoball in the thread, it's damn fun but make sure you have the space for it else you WILL hit walls. I move my mattress and play on the base of my futon personally
Ryan Adams
>w-we have a bigger screen now, its not 640x480 The pixel density is even worse, on both because samjewng pentile displays >w-we have controllers now >now People use wii motes since they exist >w-we have better response times now What the fuck is trackIR? >w-we have a... library of games Best games are actually ported ones with mods or other shit, the reason to have a HMD in the 1st place, and not just teleport to move or get stuck waving your hands >motion sickness get gud or kill your genes because of a shit internal ear.
Gavin Lee
I hate teleporting. I wish they would just make it an option for the weak-stomached faggots instead of building entire games around this crap.
Played the shit out of Climbey and Wildlands with no motion sickness whatsoever.
Josiah Ortiz
>funton ching chong ding dong?
tell us about holoball
Samuel Nelson
This. People need to try and get used to it.
>Try that bar fight game >Walk/run with touch pad >Feel myself wobble about as I move and feel a bit whoa shit I'm gonna fall >Take some time to move about >Get used to it, stop wobbling and feel fine
Games like Climby gave me no problems but I think it's to do with moving your arms to walk.
Robert Morales
Nope. Even the shittiest console ever, the Switch has more value than this piece of crap.
Juan Hall
How closed minded.
Cooper Brown
>Thinks vr motion controls are the same as wiimote. >Thinks trackIR is the same as a headtracking HMD >Thinks games have to be exclusive to VR to count as good titles.
