I will never understand how anyone can take Spanish seriously as a language.

Not even the most serious tone on an important matter / critical situation can make it any less ridiculous. It sound like made-up gibberish.

General rule of thumb is to play a game in the language where it is set or go with the theme.

This game should be played in English.
Games like Persona should be played in Japanese.
Metro should be played in Russian
Metal Gear Solid should be played in English as it takes inspiration from cheesy American action movies.
Fantasy/Medievil settings should be English, preferably British voice actors like the Souls series.

Anything else shoukd be left to your own shitty judgement.

Japanese is good quality, but sounds so out of place and strange. This ain't chinese cartoons where humans are amorphous and lacking detail.

General rule of thumb is to play a game in the language it was written in or with the voice actors the director chose which is often the language it was written in (not the case with RE tho).

It's never really the case with Capcom in general. Capcom have always made their games with English VA first. They only started doing Jap dubs when DMC 4 came out iirc.

Jab dub, literally just sounds like a bog standard anime. People complain that english dubs always have the same VA, but holy shit the jap dub is just voices I've heard before, delivered in the exact same way too.

Though I'm not a fan of Ethan's english dub. He's fine in some areas, pretty bland in others.

They did a good job in all of them, bravo Capcom seriously.

I couldn't stop saying ITS ETHAN and I would hear ITS ETHAN BRADBERRY every time they said his name. This went on the whole play through. The game was fun but I feel like it has no replay value because it's so scripted.

I've always been a proponent of watch things in their native language, even non-Japanese things.

However I think the Japanese is inappropriate here, and doesn't even sound really good. So English is the best choice here, even though some of the English actors sound cheesy as hell
