Why is Aqua in super emo mode in Kingdom Hearts 0.2? When we last saw her in Secret Episode she resolved to see her friends again and never give into the darkness, and 0.2 picked up where Secret Episode ended and now she can't stop talking about how much she wouldn't care if she died or the darkness takes her over. What the hell happened between Secret Episode and 0.2 that caused her to go straight into 'ow the edge' phase?
Is she going to remain a super edgy emo in Kingdom Hearts 3?
Demon Tide is dicks. Felt like I was fighting a huge version of Vanitas Sentiment.
Julian Cruz
>3 hours to beat Proud mode
I want half my money back Squeenix
Matthew Collins
Because Nomura, all his characters have to turn emo.
Oliver Edwards
>0.2 advertised as 3 hours for months You get what you paid for
Brandon Adams
Because this is before that retard
Ethan Flores
>Final boss designed by Osaka team
Owen Gonzalez
Because Nomura is a shit writer ? He's trying so hard to make her that cool, calm & collected, "stoic" kind of protagonist at all times that he fails to make her into a compelling character.
His original ending for her in 0.2 compared to what we have is so much better, it's unreal.
Grayson Martin
What was the original ending?
Hunter Miller
The first half of the final battle is fine, the first time you encounter it and the final phase is disgusting bs that punishes you for even attacking. Dissapointing. i would rather have had a copy paste of any of the 1 or 2 main boss fights.
Dylan Jones
I haven't played a KH game after 1,2, and BBS. What is the original and actual ending, user?
Landon Miller
Nomura wrote it.
Asher Williams
>Objective: defeat Demon Tide on Critical difficulty >Critical removes Leaf Bracer and Second Chance
Eli Barnes
>kh3 will be fully developed by them Feels bad man.
Chase Wilson
> Secret Episode ends with Aqua finding Enchanted Domain Castle > 0.2 starts right fucking there
lolwut
Bentley Murphy
Shouldn't the main team be long since done with XV by now?
Landon Gomez
Did Osaka Team do KH2FM?
If so, there might be SOME hope.
Brandon Cox
No. They made Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance, as well as 0.2
Kevin Cruz
Fuck.
Which team did KH2FM then?
Mason Green
The team who made ffxv
Gavin Bell
fucking hell the new kh has some grafix all right!
does anyone know if the cutscenes in 0.2 are real time?
seems like they could be since there are actual load times before every one. on the other hand the accesories you equip don appear in them.
Nolan Cruz
She's crying over not being in the RoL.
I would've prefered this ending, though IF they made a good development over knowing what's "at stake when Riku didn't close the door"
Aiden Martinez
I hoped that would happen, since they did 1 & 2, but no news of that. Pretty depressing, just hoping the combat is up to the standards of 1 & 2. 0.2 has some flaws but its in the right track, magic is especially great.
Dominic Anderson
I feel like that fight is probably impossible without just spamming shot locks by using elixirs.
Matthew Powell
KH has always done real-time cutscenes, with the exception of the DS titles, naturally.
Easton Jenkins
I'm going off memory but I'm pretty sure the main team who did KH1 & 2 were shipped over to FFXV to help them get the game out for release. So I assume they'll pop back over and work with Osaka on 3.
Unless those guys got shipped over to VIIR? I'm not sure because this kind of info isn't exactly told to the public.
Chase Sullivan
>play on proud >final boss >final phase >boss can just stunlock you randomly >it can kill you immediately after his combo >no chance to heal/dodge/block >boss has 0 wind up or tells on his moves
i hope this isnt a sign of things to come
Jace Gray
>Ever expecting ANYTHING SMART OR NOT DUMB to come out from Osaka region
Josiah Butler
Ever since 2FM was done, they were on Versus 13, which turned to 15. They were on it for ten years, and i think the team might have grown to dislike Nomura for prolonging development. Thats just speculation but i pray the main combat guys come and lend a hand on kh3.
Jacob Ramirez
>were shipped over to FFXV They were the main team since it was versusxiii Who knows what they're doing now
Lincoln Hall
Did you play all the way through? When Aqua is walking to the figure/Ansem the Wise on the Dark Margin that's where her section of Blank Points starts where she resolves to see her friends.
Considering how Sup Forums trips out about the final campfire in FFXV, I'm starting to think that events that are shown out of exact chronological sequences tends to throw people off.
Carson Myers
amazing looking envorments in this game. to think we could have had all this and more in ff15 had it not falen to the open world meme
James Nguyen
Cheers for clearing that up. Fingers crossed they were sent back to work on KH3 and that Osaka were just keeping the ball rolling while they were busy.
Justin Miller
Working on patches and DLC for XV, presumably.
Carter Foster
>team might have grown to dislike Nomura for prolonging development I'm sure it was nomura's fault that they had to be forced to work on FFxiii because of toriyama's incompetence and shit direction
Jack Nguyen
Thats the Tokyo team. Last I heard the DLC team was a slightly different one.
Alexander Hughes
that is extremely impressive if true. wish they would camera zoom or make the accesories visible during cutscenes so we would know for sure since a few cutscenes looked like they had slight compression artifacts which would mean they were pre rendered.
Adam Thompson
>Considering how Sup Forums trips out about the final campfire in FFXV, I'm starting to think that events that are shown out of exact chronological sequences tends to throw people off. People are just retarded these days. Especially Sup Forums
James Wright
>boss has 0 wind up or tells on his moves Oh wow, that bad?
Nolan Cook
Its a ball of 1000 heartless, it pretty much automatically hits you for even being near it. Typical Osaka stuff really.
I don't use decorations because I don't care for that sort of thing, but I believe decorations are blocked in cutscenes when using Share functions. So if you're watching people stream from PS4, that could be why they aren't showing up.
Anthony Jones
yeah i played through the game.
Owen Phillips
Bizkit should be able to recognize that it tells literally every single attack by its changing eye color.
He has this video where he's fighting the Wave and can't figure out when to attack during the second phase, even though it blatantly goes from bright, hellfire red to dull, darkness blues.
They couldn't make it more obvious.
Jacob Cook
Fucking osaka. 3 is gonna play like substandard spinoff horseshit,
Andrew Sanchez
Maybe since it was a 'final boss' they felt like they needed to up the difficulty? Not to mention you have Mickey at that point who prioritizes healing you if you need it.
Parker Powell
the change happens in like a split second though so there is no time to react really.
Landon Parker
She's on her period, it'll go away.
Easton Cook
looks like notcis from the thumbnail
Christopher Wood
>Internal body clock freezes in the Dark World >She's always in her period
Ouch.
Jace Green
No, it gives you plenty of time to react. It's a pretty significant tell.
Jackson Nguyen
G-Getting mixed messages, are tells bad or not?
Logan Adams
Ansem the Wise was kicked into the Realm of Darkness and was able to break out fine, and the OrgXIII members can travel through it at will, so why doesn't Aqua just bust out like Ansem the Wise did?
Austin King
The first time you fight devils wave you can tell and dodge (unreliably) but the second phase of the final fight is utter garbage, you can't deny that.
John Scott
She doesn't have any control over the darkness to create a portal out of there, nor the know how. (I think that's how it works, been awhile since I played)
Ansem the Wise seems to have some case of amnesia in Blank Points so we'll assume he doesn't remember how to create one.
Orgy members were all Nobodies and only used corridors for quick transportation.
Michael Lopez
If you want the short answer, it's an okay demo, but the devils wave fights are garbage and it still has some combat problems.
Christian Wood
What am I supposed to do in the mirror wth all the chests?
Ethan Jackson
Ansem nearly went crazy and was using darkness to escape Aqua refuses to succumb it and use it
Justin Collins
Bizkit says there are no tells.
There are. And they're very obvious.
>but the second phase of the final fight is utter garbage, you can't deny that No, I disagree. It telegraphs even more heavily, its attacks are generally easy to avoid (barring the pit attack).
The only real problem is that it switches modes fast, which sucks when you're in the middle of the tornado because that's where the target is. But if its telegraph was like, .5 seconds longer, it'd be fine.
Tyler Jones
Ansem the Wise got friendly with the darkness in order to do that, and we know how Aqua and Eraqus feel about darkness. I guess Riku could've done it when he was Ansem. However Mickey was in there for like a few hours, and he traveled the time length of kh1. Maybe they really didn't have the time for the detour during kh2?
Charles Gutierrez
Telegraphing doesn't matter when some of the attacks dont give you enough time to get out of his area. Osaka needs to take notes from the Tokyo team and from software.
Andrew Sullivan
Getting into the Realm seems easy, but getting out is another question. I wonder how they'll pull it off in 3.
Levi Cook
Final boss is one of the better designed fights because it actually has tells and patterns and you are shit. It's the second Devils Wave that's complete horseshit,
Brandon Lee
>Both Master Xehanort's English and Japanese VAs died
Is he just gonna be speechless in KH3, or just use his other 'selves' as mouthpieces?
Henry Morgan
Terranort will probably take over the main bad for most of the game, which I don't mind because he sounded amazing in 0.2. >NOW YOU CAN BE ONE WITH THE DARKNESS Gave me chills.
Henry Martinez
Either Young Xehanort and/or Terranort will take up the reigns as the leader. Or they'll actually replace the VAs.
Carson Stewart
>from software
That's a totally different kind of combat user
Ethan Gutierrez
Billy Zane will come backnever
Justin Hall
>THAT...IS..ENOUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH >Chains appear
When did Terra's english VA start getting better? Aqua's still can't emote for shit and it's especially jarring during the scene where she struggles with the devil wave to save Riku.
On another note, did Kairi get a new VA? and will Aqua get some new clothes, too like Riku and Mickey?
Cameron Mitchell
I can see Master Xehanort just possess Young Xehanort for the entire game like he did in the YX fight in DDD as a way around it.
Kevin Mitchell
Kairi's VA switches between Hayden Panettiere (KH, KHII, BbS) and Alyson Stoner (Re:CoM, Days). I'm guessing Stoner did her in 2.8
Cameron Harris
Alyson Stoner has been replacing Hayden on and off for 8 years
Charles Sullivan
>Beat 0.2 >"Congratuations, you unlocked Extras!" >"For beating this game you've unlocked a theme!" >Aqua theme, shit yeah >my fucking face when I just unlocked the ability to BUY it
what the fuck is this jewery? weren't the extra themes free in the other collections?
Bentley Green
The great part is this only happened in North America
Benjamin Evans
I feel like Terra's va improved a lot, but he still sounded a bit off at the beginning when talking to Aqua I think. He sounds great when he's angry or screaming though, like when he chokes Xehanort or goes Lingering Will on him. Aqua's va is weird, sometimes she sounds great, like when she meets "Terra" in the entrance of the Castle, and sometimes she sounds fucking awful.
Hudson Sanders
It must be some sort of mistake, and if it's not they better change it.
Justin Powell
You're awful Aqua.
Austin Miller
>yfw that line wasn't part of the script, but Jesse McCartney telling Aqua's VA she was awful after a recording session and Nomura kept it in anyways.
Asher Wilson
A square rep was already made aware and said they would look into it, it'll be fixed eventually after they make enough money on each one
Mason Walker
Wait so why does Vanitas look like Sora?
Xavier Stewart
Because of the connection Sora and Ventus made at the beginning of Birth by Sleep. Newborn Sora's heart connects with the dying Ventus' and heals him. It's why Ven's heart flees back to Sora when he's 4 years old, because of the connection they had already made earlier.
Evan Thomas
Okay but why does that make Vanitas look like Sora? Is Sora evil?
Michael Wood
It's just a by-product of Ventus and Sora's connection. Same way Ventus influenced how Roxas looks.
Sora isn't evil. Neither is Vanitas, he's just 100% darkness and edgy.
Levi Parker
>Newborn Sora's heart connects with the dying Ventus' and heals him. This will never not be stupid. I can handle all the bullshit thrown at me in DDD, but this was just so retarded.
Carter Jackson
I guess they should let Stoner keep it,then because I doubt Kairi is going to get to do much in Kingdom Hearts III cept maybe kicking the crap out of Lea in petty revenge for the kidnapping incident.
What's this I hear about Terra and Namine having a conversation? Like, how is Namine even able to exist outside of Kairi? How did Kairi form a Nobody anyway when she's a princess of heart? Everything about Namine is an enigma
Ryan Johnson
You would be correct. It seems that they try to get Hayden in when they can but she has a somewhat stable career and her post-partum depression/regular depression doesn't really help her availability.
Tyler Morgan
Roxas looking like Ventus makes perfect sense to me because Sora got his body back, but I do not fucking understand why Vanitas would look like Sora (unless Sora is pure darkness)
Jason Russell
It was supposed to be unborn Sora (aka Sora right before he is born and his heart is heading to him), but muh pro-life muh abortion crowds would have had a triggering so it was changed to Sora after he was just born.
Chalk it up to Nomura being a madman and just wanting to surprise the player by showing what Sora would look like if he was pure darkness.
Landon Brown
He looks like Soda because Sora filled in the missing part of Van's heart. Had it been anyone else Vanitas would look like them.
Luke Howard
Namine was formed because Kairi is a princess of heart
Her existence is probably the worst explained plot point in the series imo
Sebastian Ortiz
They did have a convo but it was for the people who managed to go to the JP orchestra series. It won't be in a game yet is completely canonical.
Juan Gutierrez
>It was supposed to be unborn Sora (aka Sora right before he is born and his heart is heading to him) See that makes more sense, since you can say Sora's heart saw Ven's when he was traveling to his body and picked it up. It's still a bit dumb, but whatever.
Jaxson James
Cheers. Made a little chart for people.
Nathaniel Bailey
Except the missing part wasn't the part that was removed, the part that was darkness is, which Sora presumably constitutes very little of
Jace Russell
I think when Willa was doing Dark/Mirror Aqua, she was just fine.
Namine found Terra, as the lingering will, somehow, while searching Sora's memories. She told him to keep on fighting and help Aqua while she was in the RoD, which is why he is there in 0.2 and guides her to mickey.
The whole conversation happened before KH1 ending, so Namine was probably still freshly formed, as Kairi lost her heart at the beginning of KH1, and was not stuck inside Kairi yet, like after KH2.
Tyler Allen
If I had to guess I'd say it probably has something to do with her being stuck in the literal fucking realm of darkness.
David Cox
How can they have a conversation when neither of them know the other exists? What would they even have talk about? What's this about Ventus actually being from Chi's time? They showed him with that annoying girl and your dumb friend as a teaser for season 2
