I just learned i could emulate snes and other systems on this old thing...i was thinking of getting a 2ds/3ds or switch just so i could play them easily with a controller...since pc controlls realy suck for those kind of games and allows me to lay down..the game cartriges to do this cost around 50 bucks or more shipped...while a refurb 2ds costs 60...this system is 10 year old or so (bought new)and i think it cost me around 80 bucks and has scratches all over it and a noticable dead pixel so i doubt i could ever sell it ..do i have the ultimate emulator device..or should i move on with another system with better gfx and more potential for games with their own mods and cartrigres and games for the system?

You could just buy a bluetooth controller and use your smartphone.
>carrying a bluetooth controller around with you everywhere
I would consider that if it made sence..or if i could actualy use it without holding it and the controller or buying a kickstand for it ..or of there was any remote posibility of using it on tv/monitor screen but when it comes down to it its even less convenient imo
Also what controllers even work that well on this basis? I found one smartphone emulator and all that would work with it was wii remote..back before i sold that
Pretty much any emulator works with any controller, they all just use the generic Android controller support.
I have an ipega 9023 but since you want to carry it around then that's not a viable choice.
I tried ps4 controller and it didnt seem to work...
>I just learned I could emulate snes and other systems on this old thing...
Yeah without sound. Sound is not possible because the emulator uses up all processor time to make the game run.
If you want a cheap as shit console to emulate get a Nintendo DS lite(!). It has a great library, also plays GBA cartridges (or roms via slot 2 card) plus you can emulate a shit ton of systems, including SNES, Genesis, NES, etc.
Well tell u what my phone is now a newer samsung with pretty much 0 chance of ever getting root anyway so smartphone emulation probably isnt even a option for me anymore
sense*
Are you in middle school?
PS4 controller works with a certain app and you need to be rooted for it to work.
I don't have one but Google tells me it just works like a generic Bluetooth controller.
You don't need to root to install emulators, they are just normal apps that you can download in the app store.
GBA 240×160
SNES 256x224 to 512x448
enjoy your cropped game faggot
Depends. You can connect a wired 360 Controller with an adapter. But then again, who carries a wired 360 Controller with them...
get a psp, it does nes, snes, gameboy, gba, ps1 and sega. and its a psp.
even the fat one is cheap as shit
>I don't have one but Google tells me it just works like a generic Bluetooth controller.
No. Not true. Needs the sixaxis app from the playstore + Root
I actualy used to own a psp but sold it a while back...not sure about buying another one..also i imagine the ps1 games would prob play like shit on it anyway
Yeah and don't forget a Memory Stick Pro Duo that will cost about 10 times the console...
I have a psp 2000 and its a godly device
I'm probably going to get a few more for when this one breaks.
>Get a DS for emulation
What? No. FUCK NO. Why would you even suggest this?
>can emulate a shit ton of systems, including SNES, Genesis, NES, etc.
Yeah, very poorly.
You're better off getting an Xperia Play or GPD XD if you want portable emulation. The Play for maximum portability, GPD XD for more power under the hood.
MicroSD adapters exist, idiot.
amazon.com
Why don't you just play the SNES ports for the GBA?
How are they?
Get a 3000, then. The 2000's screen has poor color reproduction and the ghosting is especially noticeable in emulated games.
>What? No. FUCK NO. Why would you even suggest this?
Well the PSP is decent, but lacks one vital thing: The DS library. Of course that is a matter of taste, but there's a reason it surpassed the PSP in sales by far.
>Yeah, very poorly.
All of these run perfectly fine - and even better with extra RAM in slot-2. But of you want to talk about poor emulation we can talk about GBA emulation on the PSP.
They work wonderfully. I now have 128gb of storage on my PSP and couldn't be happier.
Obviously not all SNES games have been ported to the GBA?
What the hell is wrong with you.
N3DS > PSP > DS
I'm advocating for the Xperia Play and GPD XD - ANDROID devices.
>All of these run perfectly fine
Post this on /emugen/ and you'd get laughed out of the thread. Shut up, you haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about.
>But of you want to talk about poor emulation we can talk about GBA emulation on the PSP.
Better than SNES and Genesis emulation on the DS, by far.
Android has by far the best emulators and processing power out of all portable devices, using handhelds to emulate is autism.
ura fagit
Too bad they're going the shitty Apple way.
Smartphone batteries don't last long and in recent years, the ability to easily remove/switch the battery has been dying out.
There are even devices that don't have microSD ports.
>touch screen
or
>bluetooth controller
absolute dogshit, I need physical buttons on the same plane as the screen
Here you go.
now that, my friend, is autism
Why would you bring up the new 3ds? What's next?
PS4>DS ?
Also: The PSP is maybe virtually better than the DS. Just like the Vita is virtually better than the 3ds. Virtually as in theoretically and way behind in sales.
>I'm advocating for the Xperia Play and GPD XD - ANDROID devices.
I emulate a few things on my Nexus, but if it's anything that happens in real time it's just no fun without real buttons.
>Post this on /emugen/ and you'd get laughed out of the thread. Shut up, you haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about.
Well, I somehow have the feeling that you neither own a DS (or have ever owned one) or have ever used it to emulate anything.
Cant use sixaxis controller without root pretty sure or i would
And that's not even his final form!
>can emulate a shit ton of systems, including SNES, Genesis, NES, etc.
>Yeah, very poorly.
Looks like somebody doesn't know how to take 2 minutes to convert a rom file and run it off the 3DS menu.
Let me guess; you're one of the two faggots that bricked your 3DS following simple instructions?
you could just get an xbone controller and use that on the PC you small minded simpleton fucking drink bleach for being such a retard
Have fun with those X and Y buttons, faggot.
>Won't carry a small 8bitdo controller
>But will carry a GBA SP
Btw casting's been a thing for years now
How can i use that without root? Sixaxis needs root to work ive tried and phone im typing on has almost no chance of getting it
>Yeah, very poorly.
You clearly don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
Psp has terrible snes emulation
Ps1 games run flawlessly on it tho assuming you don't need r2/l2
>Why would you bring up the new 3ds?
Because the N3DS is hackable and the best choice for portable emulation handheld since the Vita emulators aren't ready yet
>Well, I somehow have the feeling that you neither own a DS (or have ever owned one) or have ever used it to emulate anything.
Screensize
>I emulate a few things on my Nexus, but if it's anything that happens in real time it's just no fun without real buttons.
Lad, take a few seconds to Google the Xperia Play and GPD XD. Click on the images tab and prepare to be blown away.
>Well, I somehow have the feeling that you neither own a DS (or have ever owned one) or have ever used it to emulate anything.
Please, we need a good laugh.
Top-tier reading comprehension there, moron. He said DS lite, not 3DS.
You are aware he's not talking about the 3DS, right?
