>big female symbol
>little male symbol
What do they mean by this

HIGH
TEST

They're CERO ratings warnings. hand holding a shiv = prison culture, middle symbol = light gun game, right symbol = sexual relations with manlets

Link is gonna to climb that mountain and to bokoblin rape

>right symbol = sexual relations with manlets
Tingle confirmed!!

>tingle confirmed!!

I'm worried about the symbols on the left

Are there going to be games that are only TV mode or tablet mode?

ratings symbol for sexual content?

lmao

/ss/

Yes. Games like 1 2 Switch that require the device to be out of the dock I'm pretty sure. Basically just the party games.

Is that a pic of Zelda trying to get out MS?
Man, gonna be fun watching her despair when she can't pull it out.

yes, 1 2 switch is already one of them

No. but there are some games that may limit the number of people while in tablet mode vs docked mode.

actually its the other way around, you cant play it out of the dock, which kind of defeats the purpose

God, I want the fucking Japanese logo. I wish they used the classic Zelda logo in America as well.

ZERUDA NO DENSETSU: THE HYRULE FANTASY

Oh looks like Zelda needs protecting...AGAIN

Get with the times, Japan. Women don't need to be looked down on like it's the stone age.

...

Dude I jst realized you can play the game wit 1 half the controller and your friend has the other half and you have to control zelda

What is Twilight Princess?

Fuck this comment I'm dead

>What is Twilight Princess?
or wind waker

...

>left: crime
>middle: violence
>right: sexual content

WHEN SHOULD I LEAVE Sup Forums TO AVOID SPOILERS?

We've seen them using it out of dock for that I thought?

now and forever

goodbye Sup Forums

We have and you can. You're getting your leg pulled.

>sexual relations with manlets
This means I have a chance
t. 5'11

There are games that absolutely require motion controls with the Joy-cons like 1, 2, Switch and thus you can't play them in handheld mode. Still, you can play them in tabletop mode and thus the dock and a tv are never required anyway.

1,2 switch is the only game so far that cant be played in handheld mode

You should delete this post and make a new thread because I actually want to discuss this

K

They made triforce heroes

Nice to know that Pro controller support is optional. Again.

Fucking Christ, Nintendo. Could you BE anymore fucked up?

WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT 5 MORE WEEKS

what's the problem here?

THAT THE $70 CONTROLLER MIGHT NOT EVEN BE SUPPORTED BY GAMES

That doesnt say optional.

You know it comes with a traditional controller ,right? It's called the JoyCon Grip.

It says supported.

In other words, not supported is a possibility.

don't buy Just Dance or 1,2 Switch to Another Game and you'll be fine

>crime
>sexual content
prostitutes confirmed

I'll keep that in mind if I want tendonitis.

Don't be worried.

First of all, they count "tabletop mode" and "handheld mode" as separate things.

It's because it's literally impossible for some games to be in every mode, so they made a system of showing compatibility so when one of those games pops up they can warn retards who don't research shit. For example a game that REQUIRES the joycons be separate (like ARMS if it didn't have standard controls as an option, which it DOES have so this isn't a problem) can be played in TV mode or Tabletop mode, but NOT handheld mode. We don't have any examples yet, but it's possible.

There might even be games that literally require a touchscreen, for example a game where you draw on the touchscreen for real-time pictionary (one player draws, the other see the drawing on their smart phone Switch app or own Switches) might be tablet only. Those games will be shit, but supporting standard controls might not be a priority, especially if it's something like a budget $5 eshop title that is literally Pictionary.

thank god I'm alone so no one can hear me laugh

Why wouldn't it be supported by many games?
Unless it's some waggle waggle thing like 1 2 switch then there's no reason for a game to not support the pro controller since it's literally the same inputs as the Joycons but bigger.

It's the same fucking shape as a gamecube controller. It's a basic dog-ears grip.

>We don't have any examples yet, but it's possible.
We do. 1, 2 Switch.

user is just being autistic. Anything that you can play with two joycons attached to the gamepad will be playable with the pro controller.

>Why wouldn't it be supported by many games?
Because that's what happened with the Wii U pro controller? Even fucking NSMBU didn't support it until it was patched in MONTHS later. Especially among indie devs it was very common that they wouldn't support it at all because they didn't realize it existed, and you got games that only supported the gamepad, which is REALLY FRUSTRATING when you spent extra money for a controller that didn't come with the god damn system like it should have

The symbols are actually used for minigames too, 1 2 Switch has examples like Milk where you NEED to be in Tabletop or TV mode because 2 players can't compete in handheld mode.

I'm guessing Nintendo is gonna have a "all games must comply and be available in whatever modes suit them" rule for devs, even if that means we'll sometimes get "Hey, here's a 720p handheld game... and the same 720p handheld game on your TV, with slightly less frame drops!"

1 2 Switch can be played in every mode. Individual minigames vary, but the game as a whole supports all 3 options in various minigames. There's a minigame having to do with a baby in handheld mode, if you aren't aware.

I wasn't aware of that minigame, sorry. So the game as a whole will require different configurations for different games, huh? I guess they see it as a showcase of the system's overall concept.

>It's the same fucking shape as a gamecube controller
Yeah, in the reality where this happened.

Oh wait.

It's the same, the joycons are just in the center. You dont' HOLD THE FUCKING SQUARE PART. You hold the handles on the back.

Well yeah, the entire point of the game is to show off all the possible tech. That requires some shitty sandwich eating game to show IR, whatever that baby game is shows off handheld mode, and there's a really cool one where you tilt and shake the controller to feel HD Rumble and guess how many balls are trapped inside the Joycon, literally feeling the balls rolling and bouncing and clacking against each other through HD Rumble. It's fucking neat, everyone that tried it said it was easy... but that just shows how precise HD Rumble is.

ign.com/articles/2017/01/19/lets-work-out-what-all-the-1-2-switch-minigames-are

The baby one is at the end, and shows handheld mode Switch in a cradle.

>It's the same, the joycons are just in the center
The R-stick is DIRECTLY BELOW THE FACE BUTTONS

JESUS HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE HOW THIS IS A PROBLEM

Before BoTW was announced I did have an idea (dream) once of an April fools video where Nintendo shows the New Zelda game. It would start like normal zelda game with Link then the guy playing the demo will say that Zelda i playable in this new game. He goes to a character select screen and picks Zelda. cut to a scene where Zelda is in a modern looking building. she walks out of it and you see a car. After a glance of the weapon wheel she gets in. Hylian rap starts playing. That's when I woke up

You hold the dog ears. Can you seriously not comprehend this? The GC controller grip and Wavebird grip are the same fucking design as the Switch grip, the shit inbetween the grip doesn't change what the grip feels like and holds like.

really just sounds like you're being a bit of a twat to be honest.

I'm not buying a Switch because I've already been fooled twice with their last two shit consoles and their complete lack of software, not because of some arbitrary bullshit.

The grip does not change the insanely poorly placed R-stick.

You can... think about this... use BOTH sides of the controller. that means you can use an R-stick on one side... and face buttons on the... OTHER side. You can even use both R-sticks, or both sets of buttons.

If the 3DS didn't implode from this design of buttons, the Switch won't either.

There are two R-sticks, and both of them are easily accessible.

What in the literal fuck are you even talking about?

Just imagine your thumb on the face buttons, holding the grip+joycons as a normal controller. The R-stick is in a TERRIBLE location.

>There are two R-sticks
You have absolutely no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Well since you clearly don't give a shit maybe that's why you don't see the point in complaining?

I actually care about Nintendo games (though honestly I don't have a rational reason for why in this day and age) so it's pretty damn upsetting that not only do I have to buy a normal controller which isn't included but its support in games is OPTIONAL.

This is what the joycon+grip needed to be for an ergonomic layout. It's obvious they couldn't do it this way because of the the fucking dual-joy con gimmick bullshit, which is also why the dpad is utter garbage. I just wish they would have realized that the dual joy con gimmick was bullshit and dropped it.

Huh, I didn't even think about rstick placement

I guess pro pads are all but mandatory.

>2MB tumblr gif

negro...

It's almost as if... you can slide your hand DOWN the controller, so your thumb lands over the R-Stick!

Hell, it works with the 3DS! My left hand often slides directly down, from the Circle Pad to the D-Pad! What a marvel, human anatomy allows the brain to send a signal to lower your hand as a whole unit, friend! In fact, in some games, like Kid Icarus Uprising, my thumb constantly Nintendo Switches between the Circle Pad and the D-Pad, without the game breaking, even during online matches with other players!

I'm getting the fuck out of here on Feb 15.

lefty doesnt want to jiggle

good god, scanning this conversation and wow, Sup Forums really does fight over everything.
This is why we will never breed.

Notice that the slope of the Switch is MUCH higher than the slope of the Xbox controller's curve. It's fine, you can either move your whole hand up/down the curve or slightly edge your thumb.

but the game doesnt come out for a further 2 weeks after that retard

>he doesn't know about leaks
>he doesn't know about pre-release information including spoilers

Dude, anything over 5'6 isn't a manlet. I would know, I'm 5'7 and I am definitely NOT a manlet.

Hello newfriend, I hope you enjoy your stay :D

I really can't believe you're comparing what is allegedly a "'""""real"""""" console controller which is supposed to be ergonomic with a handheld that is known for causing hand cramps for this *exact* reason.

*Can* you do it? Of course you *can*. That doesn't mean it's *good*. They could have put the R-stick on the back of the fucking grip for all it mattered and had you control it with your middle finger as it wraps around, and it would still be "a marvel of human anatomy". It doesn't mean it would have been a good position for it.

>It's fine, you can either move your whole hand up/down the curve or slightly edge your thumb.
Awkward as fuck.

I really can't believe drones will defend what is demonstrably a bad design. If this was a good design Nintendo would have made their Pro controller with the R-stick directly below the face buttons. They didn't. I WONDER WHY.

Just because you have a make-shift controller that """""""""""""""""""""""""works"""""""""""""""""""""""""" doesn't mean it's any good. It just means it meets the bare minimum requirements of something that's necessarily to control the game. Unless you enjoy eating shit you'll need a pro controller. Assuming the fucking game you want to play even supports it.

>demonstrably a bad design
Except you didn't demonstrate shit. Older hardware being different doesn't mean newer hardware is worse, because you haven't used the Switch yet. The people that HAVE used it at the events all seem to say it feels natural. Why does their opinion not count, when they are the ones that actually used the thing?

A controller really only does a couple of things.

It has necessary inputs and it's meant to be held comfortably.

The joy-con+grip only passes one of these tests. It doesn't pass the other because they tried to do too many things with it and those things prevented it from being ergonomic.

>tfw 5'5
A-at least I got dubs, ha ha
C-check em'

>Older hardware being different doesn't mean newer hardware is worse
Thumbs. Thumbs never change.

>The people that HAVE used it at the events all seem to say it feels natural.
reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/5omeve/right_joycon_analog_stick_placement_issues/

Honestly the stick placement is the least of its problems. The triggers look awkward, the whole thing is tiny as fuck, and the face is completely flat. Even the dreamcast controller had a curvature to it

So is this going to be a massive SJW bait and switch?

make link the hero, but in the end link will be evil or be too weak and zelda will be the real hero?

>it has good stick placement
>who needs to move their thumb when you can just move your entire fucking hand
>oh by the way if your hands are too fat you'll probably butt up against the rstick when you're hitting the fucking buttons
you can't make this up

dreamcast controller is my favorite controller, im like the only person i know who likes it though.

,...yeah imma get a pro controller

>Desperately claiming to not be a manlet
When will they learn?

I want to see if they are going to release a Monster Hunter on the Switch. I want to know if you can move the right thumb stick with the middle part of your thumb while pushing buttons with the tip

It wouldn't work, moving the tip of your thumb to hit the higher buttons would also move the r-stick since the parts of your thumb are connected
