bumping for my sanity

please help?

I know you're looking for someone to go "I had that same problem. X fixed it" but that sort of stuff doesn't happen to me so I can't give you any easy answer.

have you updated drivers

Call tech support, tell them you forgot to update your drivers and you installed ENB on a laptop and should be laughed at

yes everything is up to date. The pink screen only showed up when i messed with the video settings. Im not really a computer guy but I know my way around mods pretty well. Some other people had this problem and i think it may have to do with archive invalidation, which ive already downloaded via the nexus and installed. Now I'm at a wall and I don't know what to try next

I don't use enb, just the standard textures that come with the game. I haven't added any visual enhancements, I usually do that after I get through the tuorial, and sometimes I never bother to. And nah it's a great laptop in my opinion, it runs skyrim on ultra with hella visual enhancement mods... so why is NV shitting the bed?

Pink and black shit usually means mod overload.
Try disabling all mods and try again.
If it works, enable your mods one by one, restarting the game as you go along.

Might be one mod messing things up or your load order being shit.

>laptop

Sounds like you forgot to activate archive invalidation user.

I installed it into my skyrim steam folder and changed the fallout_default.ini to match in the archive. Like I said, I did all that before and the game worked fine. Now directly after changing the video settings, it went pink

Did you sorted your load order with BOSS or LOOT?

It definitely seems like something is wrong with config files.
Try deleting everything from my documents/new vegas and running launcher and the game again.
Are you sure you didn't fuck up editing fallout_default.ini? Because if so then above wouldn't help, revert that file to original just in case as well.

I deactivated every mod and ran the game both with and without using nvse. Both times it pink screened me.

also I don't exactly have a ton of money to blow on a gaming pc. My laptop runs skyrim perfectly and I make sure my load order is fine and that no mods conflict. It works for me so I don't see the point in dropping a ton of money just so I can play a couple bethesda games.
>looking for help
>tells me I don't know what I'm doing
>receives criticism for not spending a grand to play fallout new vegas
>what?

UPDATE
I've determined that like said i've probably fucked something up with my .ini or possibly something with my documents. I did this pretty early in the morning so there's a chance that I misremembered a detail for archive invalidation, or unlikely but still possible another mod.
I'm reinstalling the game as of now and I'll go about carefully adding everything back to how I had it... minus a fuck up or two

STATUS
Issue still pending to be solved. If it persists then I'll give more details if anyone gives a fuck

Keep us posted.

ladies and gentlemen, pc gamers
the best part is you gave up, turned off the game you wanted to play and then complained on the internet

Download the nexus mod manager and sort the mods you retard

lol it's not the game itself. Personally I love new vegas, I'm just having trouble getting it set up again and I asked for help. Complaining would be if I was calling the game bad for my own errors.
>try harder
>I play console too

>implying I didn't already do that wayyy before the problem occured
>implying

You wouldn't need to manually edit shit if you just used NMM.
