Better than having a friend of your gf (who got you into WoW) come along for some party, be so fucking awful you tell her and her husband to kill themselves, you come back an expansion later, your gf applies you both to one of the top guilds on the server, but as a package deal - they want her, but not you, and this bitch is one of the people who said to not allow you in the guild.
You get in, and start developing a weird tsundere relationship with this person.
Guildmaster has a baby, makes her new GM. You talk and she confides in you, things getting dangerously close to full-blown emotional affair.
She makes you an officer.
Your gf isnt an officer.
"officer meetings" end up being "stay up all night from 11pm after raid to 7am the next morning on vent together" sort of things.
In one last hurrah after being found out to attempt to prove your loyalty to IRL gf, you use your officer's abilities to steal the entire gbank and mail it to her with a friend's engineering portable mailbox, and kick/ban everyone you can.
This destabilizes the PvE on the server so badly (there were literally just like ~3 good guilds for each faction, and ours was #2 in progression), that it's never the fucking same.
Gf sells the shit on the AH for ~250,000 gold (this was a lot back in WotLK), guild bank gets restored, you get a temporary ban
Mistress' husband works at google and siezes your account, releases all the cybersex records and dick/vagina/tit picks you swapped to your gf
Gf still doesn't leave you because it's in the past, but relationship is never the same
You don't feel at fault because she's gotten dangerously close to doing shit like this with like ~7 guys online and you were fed up with her shit anyway
Years later, you still talk to them both, after breaking contact with them both off and on multiple times
Mistress still tries to get you to cybersex her but yuo're in a 2.5 year relationship with the best woman in the world (who doesnt play MMOs of course
