>aim in the general direction of an enemy and press shift for a free kill
Roadhog is the most bullshit hero.
Agreed. But it's a little upsetting when Lucia negates your damage as you're about to double kill a Reinhardt and Mcree.
Launch monkey was really good. He's still great but is just lacking a bit.
What makes a skilled Winston?
Dude I suck shit and I love Winston
Scrub gets mad at squishy snipers and goes apeshit

dva before her buff
The banana spray, the monkey business emote and the safari costume.

Retard here, can someone explain to me the appeal of winston?
>specializes at diving snipers, except snipers are shit and witch hunted out of teams in ranked
>shield is weak and has a long as shit cooldown
>very low damage, although hits multiple targets
>generally lackluster ult, although good for stalling
You can call me retarded that's fine, I just want an honest explanation.

You forgot "How Embarrassing"
RIP SKELETAL KING
I don't have to aim.
Actually requires good positioning or you get dumpstered by nearly every hero in the game.
He's just a good squishy stomper. He can single out healers really well, he can take out Genji, make tracers back off, and just overall harass people.
You showed your pleb at ult. His ult is one of the most consistently useful in the game, and can help your team capture a point when nobody else on your team has an ult. Just being able to knock Reinhardt away is huge.
Also, you shouldn't be jumping on targets, you should be jumping away. The only time you should ever jump on targets is if its an isolated squishy or a Lucio/Mercy. The real idea is to sneak above or behind the enemy lines, get in as much damage as possible, using all the longevity you can with the bubble, then jumping back to safety when you're facing certain death.
LOL, literally the easiest to play
Just look at the ground like a beta and get free damage even if they're like 10 feet away? Fuck that
Its that he can disrupt and split up the enemy DPS from their healer and/or tank, or heal from the DPS and/or tank.
The shield isn't meant to sustain damage from more than one person. You're supposed to play footsies in it.
>jump on enemy
>drop shield
>they try shoot you but you're in the shield
>they move into shield to shoot you
>you back out of it and they shoot the inside of the shield
And while this is going on the other players on your team can do important shit or back you up by healing you or helping kill the person you're playing it. He's not designed for outright damage, or even really as an outright tank.
It was mostly suffering but made you actually try.
Snipers not hard to play at all. Antimage is much harder to play at a high level.
I really liked her ult before the time "buff" and when you could kill yourself with the explosion. You could be more creative with it. Now if you give it too much arch it blows up mid air and that basically accomplishes nothing.
>not the peanut butter emote
yeah, your winston needs work
>you shouldn't be jumping on targets
you showed your pleb here. You need to jump on people to get the jump damage or you're losing out
He's the only character fags and SJWs have yet to ruin
He uses his extreme mobility to get to the back line and jump on enemy squishes, which distracts them + tanks and initiates pushes for your team. You can also kill said squishes if your team is helping out.
He also requires zero aim, but is not a braindead hero like Sym or Mei, which in itself is a big appeal for lots of people. He is also fun to play
>jumping into enemy clusters
No, you're a shitter. The only thing you jump on are isolated targets, otherwise you die quickly, and often before your jump cooldown.
I can understand why people would say sym is brain dead. But mei actually takes really good timing on shots use of ability and special.
Also symettra is the one character I can successfully dash dance around an attacking Reinhardt, can also get away from dva spread and can maneuver about a roadhog pretty well.
>tfw you want to love Winston but his dps is beyond shit and his shield is the same
>is a gorilla
>can bananaslam literally anyone 1v1
>zippity-zapper doesn't even require aiming
>bubble shield for teamstrats
>apeshit ult for dominating objective
kys, hominid
Sorry you're garbage with him.
It's not much, but mixing in a punch helps in situations like that, if you do it when he has 1 square left you can finish him off around half a second faster.
You jump when the situation calls for it.
Using your teams aggro to your advantage then jumping on backline squishes that can't destroy you i.e a healthy mcree or soldier. Pop the shield and dance in and out of it. Then you jump away to safety or jump towards the low health target once more + zap + melee if needed. If you get focused down in 5-6 seconds before your jump cooldown, chances are the jumped in at the wrong time anyways.
It's also important to jump mid-fight occasionally. You get a bird's eye view allowing you to pick a new low health target and you deal extra jump damage.
>post moview SpongeBob.
No you kys
>>can bananaslam literally anyone 1v1
roadhog exists

dva actually require good tracking.
sombra
not having to aim is what appeals to ow players
When and how will Sombra be buffed?
I want her to be comp viable.
she'll be comp viable when CTF becomes comp. Yes, that does mean never.
...
Sheild needs a little buff, since it was originally nerfed due to hero stacking, but outside that hes one of the more well balanced heroes.
You jump in, drop a bubble, monkey around and make a nuisance of yourself while your team engages, then either clean up or jump away
>activision
>skill
I'm sure you are proud of your level 1000 paragon monk in diablo 3 too.
Things to consider:
His gun hits *everything* in front of him, so it gets better the more targets there are.
Not having to aim means your dps is consistent regardless of how skilled you are or how good the enemy's movement is.
I also don't understand why people seem to believe his shield is shit. It has so much health that it rarely dies before expiring naturally and even if it does, that's 600 damage the enemy team had to waste on not damaging your team.
>His gun hits *everything* in front of him, so it gets better the more targets there are.
More targets there is, the faster Winston dies.
>Not having to aim means your dps is consistent regardless of how skilled you are or how good the enemy's movement is.
Except the likes of Genji and Tracer that can just blink/dash behind you or get above you in all the nice blind spots.
I do agree, that in prolonged 1v1 Winston beats Tracer and Genji, but there is literally no reason for ether of them stay there to fight him. Monkey bullying isn't real, just walk away.
anyone who appreciates ninja gaiden is a friend in my book
his dps is fine against squishies, but he sucks in the tank meta
>but it's so low!!! it takes so long to kill heroes!!!
it doesn't really matter. it's still fast enough that you can reasonably beat almost every other squishy in a 1v1, including reaper if you're smart with the shield. winston basically puts a clock on an engagement. either ypu deal with him in about 2.7 seconds, or he kills you off. this is what makes him disruptive and a powerful for capping control points, it forces everyone to focus on him. he also has the bubble shield for forcing his opponents to either reposition or waste even more fire on him. winston and his shield put about 1100 HP onto the objective, and if you don't burn through that HP right away then his team wins. and if you do, his team will be there to cleanup after him. that's what makes him a tank. i'd say winston is the best tank design in the game, he's basically what reinhardt should have been.
hope that clears things up

Roadhog can knock rein away too and his ult actually deals damage
I don't actually play dota 2, but the concept of Invoker is fascinating to me.
>roadhog uses ult
>ana uses sleep dart
Whoops.
Winston's ult is far better by virtue of having great mobility and increased health. He's much harder to neutralize.
Sleep Dart works on Winston too.
Winston is good as being a toilet plunger when a payload is stuck but not much else. Payload is stopped? you jump over it, zap a few supports and their entire team tries to fucks your shit up as you hide in your comfy dome
dva was more fun before they buffed her ult and made it impossible for her to get killed during it. Before it took skill to get big kills with it, now you just use it when everyone is fighting on an objective and your health meter is low
Torbjorn. Not being ironic. It's satisfying as fuck for the rivet gun practise to pay off when you right click tanks in the face and land long range left click headshots on squishies.
I just wish his turret wasn't so inefficient to use. All it's good for is ult charging.
Easiest tank to kill. Even genji, the character he's meant to counter, can stomp his ass out with a few well aimed heads hots. He's pure garbage and every time I see him I get rock hard because I know I'm about to get free elims.
>turret
>inefficient to use
(You)
It doesn't ruin his ult.
>1 damage slows upgrade process by .75 seconds.
>Have to actually bodyblock your turret to get it upgraded during a fight.
You mightaswell just play with Torbs like how you would play gunslinger engineer in tf2. Shit out turrets for distraction and shotgun everyone who tries to kill you.
Yeah it's pretty inefficient.
>sombra
>ctf
Ha.
CTF is all about tanks. A lucky Sombra might snag the flag away 0.1 seconds earlier but she's bringing fuck all to the team.
>every tier list has him below dumpster tier
...
Sombra denies the three major healthpack points between the flags.
A bonus for the defense team from being chipped away by squishies ducking and healing behind corners.
Unless they deathball with a Mercy/Ana, their healing is pretty much negated. The Lucio would be solo speedboosting mostly should they have him on their team.
DVA exists... and Reinhardt... and Reaper... and Pharah...
That's how you're supposed to play him
Hi there
Make fun of Winstons damage all you want but with Mercy damage boost or discord it starts to fuck shit up and can't be shielded against.
He can stop pro-genjis
>DSP mains Winston
>he also plays this piece of shit on a console
OP you're literally the same piece of shit as DSP
A skilled Winston can beat any Roadhog.
Only if the Roadhog is completely and utterly braindead.
How fix Winston.
>the longer you attack an enemy without stopping, the more damage you do
OR
>after a set amount of time, your target is stunned for X seconds
We don't need more dps focus on tanks, that's one of the biggest problems with the game at the moment. They should just put him back to how he was at release, he was only nerfed because of hero stacking anyway and that's no longer an issue.
...
I'm a complete noob. Bought the game two days ago. I played TF2 though.
Any tips? Things I need to know? Anything you'd like to tell me, bros?
Today I tried Reaper and had fun with it but so far Hanzo, Mercy and Junkrat have been my jam. Got lots of compliments from my team yesterday playing Mercy. She sucks though. At least in TF2 the medic could do good damage.
I have only tried five or six heroes so far.
His shield is shit because symmetra shield has more health and cool down is shorter.
Go zenyatta and never look back.
CTF is a good way to train with Winston.
Give it a fucking try.
Learn a few heroes for every category.
Play the ones you are actually good at when the role is needed.
He seems like a shittier Mercy. Sure he has more offensive power but Mercy heals faster and more people while also giving them damage boosts. Zenyatta can only heal one slowly and give one specific enemy a bad condition.
What's good about him?
Don't "main" anyone, its the mark of a casual. Plus its helpful to be able to play any roll.
Push. Too many players forget you need to push and you end up having wonderfully dull choke-hold battles that the defender wins.
Projectile weapons have larger hitboxes than hitscan weapons.
Mercy does her damage by damage boosting other players. Don't save your ult for those sick 4-5 player rezs, I typically use it with 2 or three, one if they player is rather important such as a tank.
Ana is pretty good. Zenyatta is alright too. Mercy isn't considered that good in the meta right now.
Don't bother with widowmaker. Shes objectively a waste of a slot right now.
>he didn't try Lucio first
You don't want to feel like a butterfly or what?
You can deal out serious damage while not compromising your healing
>>the longer you attack an enemy without stopping, the more damage you do
symmetra is already OP as shit. We don't need someone who can target everyone to do the same thing.
He can still do damage while healing, plus his discord orb is amazing for you and your team.
but Winston a shit
Tanks fucking suck when you don't have aggro mechanics.
t. GW2 Player
The problem with Symmetra is that her beam is hard to escape from since even if you dash away from it it stays locked on. Winston's attack you can just run out of even if he chases you.
If I were a bad Winston, I wouldn't be sitting here discussin it wit ya now would I?
Sauce?
>mercy
>not good damage
Someone here can't get consistent headshots.
