Bloodborne Thread

What are some good early bloodtinge weapons? Gonna make a bloodtinge build but don't know how to start.

Also general BB thread

There are only two bloodtinge weapons.

SKL build

This is my only gripe with BB, you have to pretty much complete the game to get the weapon you want to use.

Tell me about it
>make squishy ARC build
>been sitting incomplete for more than six months because beating Orphan of Kos with a BL 98 character with 70 ARC is suffering

There aren't any. BLT build is a meme.

If you plan on using the Chikage, level into Dex until you get it, then work on bloodtinge.

The same can be said for STR weapons and the Bloddletter. BLT isn't good early game.

Nah, you're just shit m8. Arc is the strongest build. It just starts slow, but by the end of the game it destroys everything. In the right hands, of course.

I've made builds with most of the other stats. Time for meme builds.

The current meme in PvP is BLT.

PCuck here

Does a bloodtinge build play differently from other builds? Everyone always says Bloodborne has no build variety. Is that true?

Bloodtinge is gun-oriented and also scales into a special sword you can get from an optional sidequest.

PvP itself is a meme, so no wonder BLT is popular there.

>burial blade

There is STR build
There is DEX build
Then there is meme builds like BLT and ARC

Tinge weapons have high damage but some kind of life-draining drawback. Chikage slowly saps your health in blood mode and bloodletter takes a flat chunk of your health every time you switch into blood mode but doesn't drain you while it's active.

Bullshit. It takes forever to get shit for ARC gems.

You can find the Lost/Uncanny versions in the chalice dungeons before NG+.

If you didn't want Kirkhammer, you are automatically wrong.

It's a fast sword that becomes the handle for a huge bonking mallet. Although the Righteous damage boost it gets is hidden, in your heart you already knew it was righteous.

Wrong.

ARC build requires late-game shit to work properly.

So do gems for any other build.
But Arc lets you exploit the enemy elemental weaknesses and use the hunter tools, and elemental weapons don't suffer from scaling being split between Str and Skl.

You can use rifle spear but its normal attacks don't scale with bloodtinge. Same goes for chikage btw

I'd go for skill/bt instead of a pure bt build.

Kirkhammer is so cool, it's just objectively inferior to the meme blade.

Not really. You can get good Str and Dex gems early on. Not top tier stuff, but enough to make a solid build with. ARC gets like, 3 gems in the first 90% of the game, and they are meh.

is there any point in attaching elemental gems to your weapons? or is it best just to go straight damage?

>Kirkhammer
You mean badLHB?

Basically, rush to beat Amelia as soon as you can, then go straight through the woods to access the Sickroom and get your BLT party invite.

Then, head through Hemwick line (you need to beat the boss first) and go to Cainhurst. It's actually possible to get there very quickly if you know what you're doing, and from there you can grab the Rieterpallasch from the main hall.

Chikage is locked behind Logarius, so it's effectively mid-to-late game.

You can also rush through the Hunter's Nightmare if you have TOH, murder Simon (it's actually pretty damn easy if you know how to parry, regardless of gems) and get the Bowblade, which is pretty damn good (blade is pure skl scaling, bow is pure blt)

Or you can be a big man and just hold out with STR alone until you get bloodletter. It's good enough to be worth the wait, if you know how to use it.

Me? I'll stay over here, with my STR/ARC build. Wheeling all day, negguh.

Bloodtinge ups the damage of blood damage type weapons which is pretty much all firearms/firearm tricked weapons and exactly 3 melee weapons who scale well with bloodtinge(1 base game, 2 DLC). Fluffwise they're weapons that in some way use your blood, all the firearms(and simon's bladebow) use ammo coated in your blood, the chikage constantly drains you while tricked and you transform the bloodletter by literally stabbing yourself. Honestly the problem with the build is getting the melee weapons themselves which you won't have access to til midway through the game and they're locked behind optional areas or the DLC area. That said its possible to rush two of them, simon's bowblade only technically requires 2 boss kills and 1 npc kill, while the chikage requires 4 boss kills.

Except it staggers slightly better. Ability to stunlock those kidnapper dudes was the main thing that coaxed me away from saw cleaver.

Bro, to get chikage, the best weapon in the game, you just need to kill Gascoine, vicar, witch of hemwick, and Logarius. If you can't beat logarius at soul level 40 then git gud

double backstab those cunts

The bowblade has S scaling for skill and bloodtinge if youre open to doing a skill/blood quality build. The transformed arrow moveset scales purely with blood. You can get it right after Vicar and running through the DLC and cheesing Simon for it. Otherwise youll have to wait till cainhurst to get the chikage.

Yes, and? I already said it starts slower, but story mode gems aren't worth mentioning. And all builds require equal amount of farm when it comes to dungeon gems.

Kirkhammer wins in Pure STR scaling for those who don't want to run Quality again and again, and it also wins in terms of fun, satisfying moveset.

Charging attack into "FUCK YOU YOU THOUGHT I WAS DONE!?" followup is great, and so is the battering ram.

I just never enjoyed LHB, to be honest. It looks silly and just doesn't feel fun to swing around. HMB blows any chance of me using it out of the water.

I tried the wheel but it felt to cumbersome for me. Is the arcane form worth it?

Also who's Simon? The guy at the 1st lamp?

>backstab
>on a str build
>not charged R2>R2 combo with the hammer

>ARC is somehow a meme and DEX isn't
There are far, far more useful items that scale with ARC my ill informed friend.

Post the weapons you have mained on a character from most fun to least fun

chikage
saif
moonlight sword
cane
meme blade
POWER GAP
pizza cutter

LHB has a goat moveset compared to Kirkhammer. L2 gives you a good and easy overhead. Charged R2 gives you a ranged stab.

>Chikage is all Dex normally, all Blood transformed
>Bowblade is all Dex normally, all Blood transformed
>Bloodletter is all Str normally, all Blood transformed

Why is it like this
I just want a hybrid build where both stats actually matter
Why can't a bow benefit from my dexterity
Why can't a giant club made of blood benefit from my strength

bandage-face guy, yes. If you don't kill him first shot at that bonfire, you don't get another shot until you make past Ludwig.

As for the Wheel, it's a similar principle to Chikage, health drain in exchange for damage. The difference is that you get to choose how many "revs" you give it, gaining 10/20/40/60 %damage increase for 1/2/3/4 rev(s). This all stacks with a 200% arcance damage increase while transformed. In other words, LOADSADAMAGE, but your health drains real fucking fast. You want to transform, rev up as fast as you can, deal your damage, then combo out of the transformation when you need to get some distance. It's something I use Blood Rapture Runes for a lot.

BLT is only good as a secondary stat on a NG+ playthrough. If you try to go pure BLT in NG it will be painful until you get late game and get the good weapons, and even then BLT is pretty mediocre without some Dex/Str anyways

Some of us just prefer to Smash.

Different user that just got the wheel and loving it. What are some good combos? I usually go with running tricked R1 and backstep tricked R1 along with non-tricked R1s and charged R2s when I can get a chance.

>I usually go with running tricked R1
The wheel is literally the katanas of BB.

It's been a long time for me, but I vividly remember loving the transformed Dash-R1-Dash-R1-Dash-R1-etc. You have a great deal of forward movement on the dash attack, so it's great for leaping in and out as you dance circles around an enemy. As for the rev up combos, I never fully utilized them because I was too big a pussy to hit 4th gear, so I can't help you there.

Just go Quality.
