Is it fun?
Is it fun?
Yes, lots of DLC shit tho
Anyone know of the best car to use all around for circuits?
Yes. Drifts and jumps are the best shit. Challenges are more fun than actually racing desu.
Rally Monsters are the only class of car worth driving tbqh
I mean, the base game has like 450 cars and hundreds of events on a massive map. I don't really feel bad about not having any DLC's. I guess maybe there's a car or 2 that I'd like but I can live without them.
As far as I'm concerned I'm only buying the map expansion.
Honestly FH3 is the most fun I've had in a racing games since the PS2 days. Only downside is it's horribly optimized, so you need a good PC to run it in any good quality.
Probably the thing that annoyed me the most is the "ultimate edition" only has the season pass, and not the "expansion pass" included. Yes FH3 has two simultaneous season passes.
No Porsche, though
I guess that's something to do with exclusivity licensing?
Yes, EA bought exclusivity rights for an extended period of time, but as far as I'm aware it ran out sometime last year, unless they renewed it.
Huh, interesting.
I don't care for most of the DLC content in FH3 but getting some Porsche cars in there might be worth it given that it's a pretty big omission.
Well Forza 6 got a porsche expansion so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens at some point. I don't know why EA bother with exclusivity, the current NFS is a fucking terrible excuse for a racing game. Time they let it die.
>Is it fun?
DLC and micro-transaction cancer has killed all car vidya.
DLC and micro-transaction cancer were introduced by Microsoft to the industry.
EA seems to like denying other developers the opportunity to use something - look at star wars
To be fair, FH3 is one of the few games that actually give you a full game before DLCs and Microtransactions, unlike most games these days. So I'm happy to pay a little more for them. Unlike some games where you only get half or less of the game and have to pay for the rest of it.
FH3 gonna get Porsche Exp without a doubt, because people found files for Porsche cars and most of them are already playable in the dev-build that some idiot dev 'leaked' on one of the updates, thought we don't know if that's gonna be the 2nd expansion (after Blizzard), or is it going to be a separate thing.
And yes the game is hella fun.
And looks very pretty.
The game is a lot of fun, had a blast with it. Shame about Microsoft but it can't be helped.
This really pissed me off. I payed something like $140 for the mega fuck boi edition that had the "season pass" and I was excited to play the snow expansion, only to boot up the game and find out it wants me to pay another 30 fucking dollars. Fuck off, looks really fun too but I can't stomach that shitty scam.
The list of DLC cars to come leaked and Porsche was on there if I remember correctly.
Here we see the wild courier van hunting it's unaware prey.
If you want to have a bit of fun though, get the 45 willy's jeep, engine swap with a V8, max it out. That thing is incredibly hard to roll even if you try once it's setup right. Good for doing danger signs and general mucking around on the sand dunes
>not a V12 in a GMC Vandura
Naa, I find the GMC van to be too unstable. I had more fun in my Transit.
>too unstable
That's why it's so fun to dick around in imo.
I find the upgrade system in this game to be really silly with how you can turn almost any car into something that's faster than a supercar without too much trouble.
I mean, it can also be fun to mess around with underpowered cars (one of my favourite cars to fling around is a fiat 131 arbarth with the turbo rally engine), but I feel like the laws of physics should come knocking sooner than they do.
>tfw Microsoft rewards survey gave me a free code for blizzard mountain
It's the RAM that kills it, you need 12GB or more.
I think it's funny the Forms Horizon 1 servers are already shut down so you can't buy the micro transactions even if you wanted toi, but they STILL shill you ever other load screen.
That soundtrack is pretty gud.
Its really good and filled to the brim with content even without DLC.
If you remotely like car games, then fucking buy it.
There is so much to do and its just a joy to play.
>tfw got all the achievements just in time for the server closure
I was actually enjoying the online racing too. Shame they stopped it. FH3 online has too much filler between races. They make you drive half way across the map to the next event.
It's A LOT of fun. A LOT
Holy shit I love this game. It has this weird feel good factor that makes you immediately feel great even after a shit day. The atmosphere and Keira's adorable remarks.
You'll love it.
It's a good game
>night
>rain
>driving a souped up R33
>blasting down the highway
>running in the 90's blasting through the ingame radio (the groove radio thing)
>avoiding traffic
>gotta go fast
Felt great man.
What are you talking about?
>tfw your name is among the list of audible names
>tfw Keira calls you out by name
:3c
Horizon has generally been a lot of fun. It's one of the plus sides to owning an Xbox, and even if you don't want to buy that underclocked brick, FH3 is on PC (but still not very optimized).
Cars are a little too easy to get, though. I've really only played FH and FH2, and the demo of FH3, so I'm not sure if they made it more difficult to get credits, but it seems like in 2 you could just do a few races and buy the best car in whatever class you wanted to play.
>Game is $100
>plus tip
Jesus.
I'm hoping it drops somewhat.
Just before the dlc came out they sent a survey to my email and they wanted me to watch some forza tournament thing and then give feedback.
Just pirate it bro.
GRID and DIRT have done this shit for ages. They also copied the rewind feature from Codemasters.
I thought the game was encrypted.
>Cars are a little too easy to get, though
I agree. I feel stupid for saying it, but I think the game is too easy. You get free cars by the boat load, and you cant even sell cars you own. So you end up with 200 cars, and only use about 10.
And since its so easy to acquire cars, you dont get the same sense of accomplishment.
Still a great game btw. To be expected by the same guys who did the project gotham racing games.
If you didn't realize yet, Horizon copies many games by literally taking the best features from TDU, NFS, DIRT/GRID and Forza to form the ultimate cool as fuck game.
I actually made it a point to use one car per one race. Been working out for me so far.
It is but as a total piratefag I can tell you that this one is worth every penny.
Let me just say Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox 360 is SHIT. The countryside feels like rocks. The online events where you play king and infected in contained areas have certain jumps that get you out of the area so you can drive all around the map. Every game someone does this online.
The great driving and customization sort of make up for it. I think a good system would be to have each class have a high buy-in cost, with the choice of one good car in that class. Then if you want to unlock more cars, you can complete events and races. Credits would just be used for unlocking new classes and upgrading cars.
Extremely fun
It is a pity they didn't have massively open multiplayer like Test Drive Unlimited. I used to like that you could drive about seeing other players without necessarily entering the main online modes.
Welcome back Big Boss
Isn't the co-op campaign like that? I thought it's sorta similar but I never actually played it.
Besides, I suppose the entire drivatar thingy is supposed to simulate this.
it is. its total shit. sumo digital usually make great games, but they totally blew it with that port.
I had hoped they would do so with horizon 3. I think it's possible. the xbone has enough ram, and I think their servers can handle it. we can wish they use it for their next forza game. It would really add to the experience.
It's only gem in the windows store pile of garbage, too bad it's on the windows store so it runs like shit by default.
>it is. its total shit. sumo digital usually make great games, but they totally blew it with that port.
I enjoyed it. Could've been better obviously but given 360's restrictions I think they did pretty okay. Shame the game looked worse than FH1 and had less cars but I still have fond memories of this game.
TDU could do it in 2006 on Xbox 360 but it would only load players from the nearby vicinity. 8 I think.
This is incredible.
Everyone in the same thread agreeing that a game is GOOD...
I think I'm going to have to buy this now.
With a good tuning setup and S1 class, this feels so good on the offroad events.
Yep that's mine too
no.
>tfw no friends play your fun blueprints
Are forzathon challenges on this weekend? I don't see any in the achievements anymore.
This. I have a few cool bp's that simulate other games but literally nobody to play them.
You should give me your gamertag. As long as you don't see insanely silly times I can try them.
Oliie94. Mind you there are two "i"s and only one "l".
I'll try yours too.
Don't worry. I'll copy and paste.
