D-don't hurt her,,,

>Windows 10

Man, I was just thinking about Metal Gear Rising.
WHERE THE FUCK IS METAL GEAR RISING 2

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
youtube.com/watch?v=ayNe9Hoxmb0

literally WHAT would have been better than 10

>tfw too poor to build a rig

I want a 4k monitor.
But then the 1080 isn't really fast enough.

Literally Windows 7

i really wanted to get a 1070 over my 1060, do you reckon i'll still get worth from my 1060 for 1080p gaming?

7
now eat a dick

Sure.
Don't expect to max every single game though, there will (are) titles that will demand some compromises to hold steady 60+.

>Windows 10
>not Kaby

Calm down, it's like this with every new version.
The luddites always cling to old software, harking about how they just need it because some specialized program from 1987 isn't supported anymore.

...

oh yeah, i usually turn my aa down and filter to like 4x and that gets me say 75fps

for example max(ish) settings on gtav gives me 95+ consistently etc

might upgrade gpu in the future though, same with my cpu

Windows Embedded.

You can leave Anisotropic at 16 always, it doesn't really cost much performance anymore. Some games have a rather shoddy implementation too, so it might be a good idea to just force 16x globally in the control panel.
Used to be pretty expensive way back in the 00's.

>it's like this with every new version
no it's not
XP was great
Vista was SHIT
7 was perfect
8 was WTF is going on
10 is even bigger shit than Vista

okay, i'll try tinker with some stuff to get the best results. It's my first build so i'm a bit confused with a lot of it atm

I need to learn how to overclock my shit, but I've been too lazy.

au.pcpartpicker.com/list/DYyfkT

Almost finished buying all the parts, but I keep second-guessing going Kaby because I don't really want to use Windows 10. Should I just go Skylake?

Have had no trouble with any game from GTA to Forza Horizon 3 on Ultra
G Sync is an amazing thing

>au.pcpartpicker.com/list/DYyfkT
You should go with an i7.
As far as Kabylake or Skylake - if you can get Kaby for roughly the same price go for it, it's not much better, but it is still somewhat faster.
And you may want to wait a month for Zen, just to see if it's not worth buying. It might force Intel to lower prices at least. Launch is confirmed for late February/early March.

>all these idiots on Windows 10

t. NSA

>1080
>All I do is play Xcom

>No game mode
nah

?

Windows 10 isn't as bad as people think. Stick to Pro though.

>You should go with an i7

Why? If he had a 1080, I'd agree, but an overclocked i5 is more than enough to accompany a 1070.

Got my 1440p/144hz display recently and holy shit, it makes everything else look bad. Finally some luxury after years of fucking around on laptop.

Also, how is the Steam Controller? Got gloves from csgo case and I intend to buy one thanks to that since my x360 wireless is dying after 7 years of service.

Pretty soon, I'll have $2500 to spend on a rig. Some of that is going to an IPS 144Hz 1440p monitor, will $1800 get me a top tier PC?

Because having more than 4 threads is becoming increasingly useful for games and there's an implicit assumption that he's going to want to upgrade his GPU much sooner than his CPU.

Rate but also tell me what to upgrade. I know my GPU is kind of old now. Does fine but I also need powerful CPU for video encoding. For live streaming.

I tried 60 FPS and 720p (hence why the main screen LG TV is at that resolution) and just encoding takes up like 40% to 50% of my CPU.

The third screen is a virtual screen which enables hardware based encoding, again for live streaming. Problem is it looks terrible even if I pump up bit rates to 3000.

t. NSA

144hz 1440p you ideally need a i7.

logicalincrements.com/

>need powerful CPU for video encoding
Wait for Zen. Then go either for it or a 6800k/6900k. You want 6 cores with HT minimum.

4k can't stop me.

That's true. How different is Freesync compared to that? I was kinda jealous that displays with AMD tech were significantly cheaper than the ones with g sync

>Because having more than 4 threads is becoming increasingly useful for games

not really, and considering his monitor he won't need hpyerthreading if he's gaming at 1080p

He's not going for 1440p gaming. 1440/144hz you'd need at least a 1080 anyway. That's why an i7 is best used with a 1080, and unnecessary with a 1070.

>buying retarded gaymur monitors
How is the 27'' though? I can't decide whether to go for 27'' or 32''.
I'm afraid the former will be too small and I'll have to use scaling out the ass. But then I'm afraid the latter will be too big for a screen, I'm sitting fairly close. Also 32'' are a lot more expensive.

>Also, how is the Steam Controller
It really depends on the person and what games you want to use it for.

My primary uses are Skyrim, Hitman, and a few other 3rd person games. Its excellent for anything 4X or TBS if you choose to use it for that.

I honestly got used to the touchpads quickly and became proficient at it but i dont think it would be easy for just anyone. I can comfortably use it with almost any game now after some slight configs on the spot and the handle buttons are something i would sorely miss if i went to another controller.

For emulation its unusable get something with a physical dpad

i7 3770k [email protected]
R9 290 4GB
16GB DDR-2400
2x SSD

been running flawlessly for 4.5 years including RAM upgrade and recent GPU upgrade

It would fit into this mobo? Hyperthreading isn't AFAIK that important for encoding, just raw power. How expensive is Zen and how long will the wait be?

I'm computer illiterate user so you'll have to excuse me.

>You should go with an i7

Nah, I'm good. It's over $150 more than the i5, and I'm not wasting that money. Same reason I didn't go with a 1080. It's 500-600 more than the 1070. I just want to know if I should bother with Kaby and Win 10.

I have a Dell Inspiron 570 that's on its last legs. I also have an ASUS HD 7850, will it fit? I was thinking a cheap RAM upgrade and the GPU might keep it going for a little longer.

PC users DO talk about specs, hardware and periherals more than they talk about games. I knew it

Ebin

i7/1070 is the most retarded combo on the planet.

he's probably alluding to the matter of Microshit making DX12 only run with Windows 10 to make people get it, but since DX12 which promised something like 40% performance increase and instead turned out to consistently tank the framerate in every game it touched, I'm not really bother by it and will rather go with Vulkan, even though I have an NVIDIA card.

I wouldn't know. I just buy retarded gaymur monitors. Scaling out the ass is the point of 4k monitors as far as I'm concerned. Unless you actually do some gainful activity that needs 4k resolution at 1080p DPI (in which case you'd get one of those 40 inch monitors) you're getting 4k for the sharpness. One day content will catch up with 4k resolution. Until then, scale stuff.

Of course not, you'll have to buy a new motherboard and RAM either way.
How expensive remains to be seen, almost assuredly less than comparable Intel. It's launching next month.

Sounds alright, how's the quality of controller itself?

Skylake and Kaby performance is literally identical when clocked at the same speed, just get a 6600k

>290
>Recent GPU upgrade
???

I saw some Steelseries controllers in a store, does anyone have any experience with them?

I bet you're one of those assinine retards crying about muh optimization.

i5 3570k @ 4,2ghz
RX 470 4GB
8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333mhz

recently upgraded from a 7850 to a RX 470

>DX12 decreases performance
I didn't even know that, all I know is that there are like 16 DX12 exclusives and only like 2 are remotely interesting.

Good products, great mice and headsets

oh do you have everyones gameplay stats ITT at hand friend?

And yeah for a lot of us both gaming and computing is a huge hobby for us so it makes sense

Or you know, you could just get a 7700 non K.

this

kaby is mediocre as fuck - it's not worth the hassle

and you sound like one of those fucking idiots who buys i7s for mid-tier video cards just because people on the internet told you to

Not really interested then. This means having to build an entirely new PC. That's not really upgrading.

Not him, but pretty solid. I've dropped mine like a tard at least once and it's still in perfect condition. I mostly use it as a remote to stream anime to my steam link.

Is good. Many fps while game.

It's one of possible topics. It's not like you could talk about hardware sonypony, not other than complaining about how limited it is

>1070
>mid-tier
KEK

Still over $100, and for something locked, that's retarded. I'd rather have an i-5K with my 1070. I'd only ever consider an i7 with a 1080 or higher.

Kaby lake and z270 are memes user,

the backs have a plasticey feel to them if and it is really light where it FEELS cheap but in truth the build quality seems to be fantastic. The triggers feel fantastic the buttons feel good and the grips are nice for most sized hands

You'll have to do it either way, there's no upgrade path from what you have.
What scaling percentage do you use? 125%? 150%?
How does the UI look? Any issues?

Is there any part here that's particularly lagging behind everything else? What should I upgrade next?

Not not that you would know, but building your computer and picking the parts for it is actually very fun.

>ban barely get by in 1440p on mostm odern games
>top tier

It must be hard for you sonyggers to fit gaming in to your busy schedule of posting in and replying to console war threads.

>Win 10
As long as the computer is for games only, no porn or personal shit, and no webcam or mic installed, it's fine. Just remember to unplug it at night.

It was secondhand and cheap and my 7970 was dying

waiting for ryzen

>when a 1070let pretends his inferior card is okay when he's dropping to 40fps on ultra on his 1440p/144Hz G sync monitor

Probably GPU user, that CPU and chipset should be good a few more years, and won't really drag your games down as much

There is no most modern game worth playing anyway. I own a 1080 and the latest game I have been playing is TW:WH from 1 year ago. Nothing in the horizon either.

Really sad state the PC games are at the moment desu.

amdrone/10

or he could stick with an 6600k like a non-retarded person

not every system needs a fucking i7 you dense retards

Get rid of the meme card.

>How's your gaming PC going Sup Forums?

>clean out the inside of my case for the first time in two years
>temperatures back to being low as fuck just like when I first got it
>can play new games again without my CPU fan whining like crazy

I am a genius!

Have to? Don't think so. Not for a while.

This

New to Mustard, how do I get to this window

monopoly supporter/10

Not that consoles are any better. There's nothing good anywhere, at least you can always play old shit.

only good thing here is the mouse

Program called Speccy

piriform speccy

>I-I do you all a great service by purchasing inferior hardware!
>S-Show some gratitude!
>REEEEEEEEEEEE

60fps on 720p is all I can ask for.
Thinking about falling for ssd meme and reinstalling
w7 as well

Speccy

ok sheeple

>wanting what happened to the 750ti to happen to every card
