Hopefully none of those.

ghost trick
not even a contest

what a garbage year

That was an awful year good lord.

>best video game story

>no skyrim

*nods respectfully towards you*

Clear and obvious winner.

bump

How of those, probably Human Revolution.
I'd honestly say Zelda but I'd just be called a shitposter for liking SS

Does any game that's a sequel ever have a coherent story? Every game I've played that ends with a "2" has had a complete clusterfuck of a story regardless of the actual game's quality.

At least one part of MGQ was released that year I think, so definitely that.

GoW 3 of course. Dead Space a close second.

Gameplay: Buttman
Overall: Bastion
Story: Uncharted

What is the game has the best story and writing in all of vidya

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

>these are the best stories of 2011
This is why I watch movies or read books if I want good stories.

Dark Souls

Ghost trick has the best story easily

>story
AssKings obviously, but BatHam got the best gameplay.

Ghost Trick or Human Revolution

Gameplay: Deus Ex
Overall: Witcher 2
Story: all of them are pretty average desu, I guess Bastion and Uncharted?

All fun games, other than Portal 2. that is just reddit tier trash.

It's a tie between The Witcher 2 and Bastion have both equally good stories.
Ghost Trick, I had not played so I can't judge, I've heard good things about it, but then again most of Sup Forums can't tell a good story if it hit them in the face.

All of the rest are actually absolute garbage story-wise and it's completely baffling that anyone would ever think they have good stories. Some of them might have been fun games, but good story, they sure as fuck did not have.

>What is the game has the best story and writing in all of vidya
Pathologic, it's not even a contest.

As a side-note: are people saying that Human Revolution had a good story some kind of large in-joke? You can't be fucking serious, right?

Skyrim

Is pathologic worth getting despite somethings I've heard about translation errors

I played 10 minutes once and it just seemed like russian nerds being edgy. I also didn't like the aesthetic. Reminded me of Epic Mickey. Someday though, I will beat it and then I will make sure everyone on Sup Forums is aware what dogshit it is.

These were the results:

Does Sup Forums have shit taste?

>Bastion
>ever
The narrator was fucking annoying. I had the same issue with Stanley's Parable.

The mechanics for bastion weren't bad though.

Ghost Trick followed by TW2

obviously ghost trick

portal 2 is worse than 1 in every way, bastion is overrated trash, human revolution belongs in a bin, the witcher is like syrim for neckbeards and the rest of the games dont even get to apply.

>Is pathologic worth getting despite somethings I've heard about translation errors
They fixed the translation of the Steam and Gog versions of the game some time ago. The new translation is a bit hastily put together, it sounds somewhat unnatural, but it's perfectly comprehensible.
If there something that might put you off, it's the fact that the gameplay is near-insufferable to most players. The game is slow as fuck, combat and stealth are basically broken, most of the time is spent in conversations, or walking painfully slowly around the city, occasionally avoiding frustrating environmental hazards, and juggling scarce resources.
It's not fun. It's actually quite a torturous experience. Some of it can be explained as intentional and adding to the narrative and atmosphere of the game (like the slow pace), others cannot (like the broken stealth).
It's not a game for everyone. The story, narrative and atmosphere are best ever featured in a videogame, and once you get sucked into them it becomes one of the most rewarding things you can ever play, but it requires you to be willing to put up with a LOT of shit and essentially being willing to torture yourself to achieve catharsis.

>I also didn't like the aesthetic. Reminded me of Epic Mickey.
What. The ACTUAL. FUCK.

>I will beat it and then I will make sure everyone on Sup Forums is aware what dogshit it is.
Yeah. Playing a game for the sole purpose of proving how bad it is because you did not like it after ten minutes while being apparently completely fucking high: sounds like a great plan.
Sup Forums will probably never cease to amaze me with it's insanity.
