I've managed to feed it a bomb once, took a good portion of health out of him. He's nothing compared to the bullshit of Delirium. Theres no way to balance a boss with so many different movement patterns with instant teleports in between. The telefrags are going to keep happening until they add a significant delay between the boss morphing into a new form.

Like give it additional "morphing" animation for 1 second which telegraphs where he's going to appear next. And make it so he always goes to main form first before changing shapes, so it would be a little easier to balance it out.

the problem is that you can't see the entire room, if they added a zoom out option for big rooms so you could see them all at once it would make things so much more manageable

Thats not as bad as Delirium turning into Mom's Foot, then into some other boss in the middle of the animation so you get hit instantly before you even manage to dodge it.

delirium's animations were found in the game files before the patch that fixed the animations in the actual fight

also wasn't the missing AB items because of them doing an ARG or something

i know keeper was unlocked through the ARG but wasn't the items hidden through the ARG as well

According to Edmund, during late bugfixing someone at Nicalis dummied out a host of items that were supposed to be freely available in the game, and it took a while for him to realize that the items which were missing and people were complaining about were NOT just the items you would unlock by playing as the Keeper.

It happened with Dr. Fetus, it wasn't made good till Afterbirth and I think it happened with some other shit in Afterbirth+

Anyone else remember Cave Story+ ? I remember it wasn't updated for months, and it had some bug (he claims) that made are the music sound like absolute shit, and didn't even loop properly (2-3 seconds of silence between each loop)

You're talking about a man that intentionally created a character as shitty as the keeper because he was butt hurt about the lost being datamined.

Afterbirth+ has an item called Data Miner for god sakes, its completely worthless as it either raises or lowers your stats permanently.

Why would anyone subject themself to Afterbirth?

The boss armor is the least of Big Horn's problems. The bomb-eating mechanic doesn't work well, the hand attacks are poorly telegraphed, especially when a handful of tossed bombs can be contact-damage bombs despite initially looking normal. The smoke balls are awkward given their size and speed, how they sort of appear in front of him instead of from his mouth, how they sort of home but don't, etc. Having to visually scan the room for the holes to appear is irritating given certain visual quirks. And so on. Needed testing but clearly that didn't happen.

This, on the other hand, is the laziest bullshit they've ever pulled.

Little Horn is fine though.

And Rag Mega is actually fun and also has shit for HP.

I actually like the concept of delirium and even the void floor.

but having it as the NEW BOSS and NEW FLOOR was fucking terrible, there's barely anything new about either.

A jumble of older floors and a jumble of older bosses should be an extra bonus thing, not the main floor of the dlc.

beat mom's heart 10 times and it turns into a different boss that lets you down to the lower floors

he's boring and takes a long time to beat

You can find that shovel item to go to Sheol where Satan awaits, wait for a Devil room spawn after killing the Heart and go down, or just kill the Heart 10 times

Little horn is a fine boss, it forces you to either move in a circle pattern to keep the smoke ball away from you while you shoot him, or opt to take the smoke ball down quickly. He also spawns bombs you can knock around back at him.

It's an actually interesting boss to fight, a boring boss example would be ragman, who's jumping spider familiars can leap at you, making them too big of a threat to ever leave alive. It's always shoot the spider then shoot ragman, that's a boring boss.

If you really prefer Isaac and Cain, just use them for the moment while you haven't unlock the basic stuff yet.

you should try and beat Isaac (the boss of The Cathedral) with ???/Blue Baby to unlock the D6, which is a Dice Item that Isaac starts with and makes playing with Isaac a lot better

At the very least, it can't be possible to design a boss less sensically than Ragman right?

do workshop mods work without AB+, or should I just grab antibirth and call it a day? I don't want to lose shekels on a shitty DLC just for mod support.

While simultaneously adding timers to shit. There were no time locked doors in regular isaac, it was only after he decided to give all the regular basement enemies 75 HP and the basement bosses 2000 HP that he put 20 and 30 minute timers to the boss rush/blue womb door.

Why is the month acheievement so bullshit? If I focused on the five straight, it might not be so bad, it's not five consecutive days, just five straight wins from the daily. But god damn trying to have enough time and luck to deal with both.

How does that make any sense

The Witness could honestly use boss armor. Not a huge amount, but just enough to make sure you cycle through its attack patterns in each phase. Unlike AB/AB+'s endbosses, it actually functions something like a bullet hell boss and should involve some amount of stamina.

So I've actually upgraded to afterbirth on the ps4 version (only have it for the game for this console) and why does this exist? Who thought this Boss was a good idea?

It curbs your damage and synergies arbitrarily based on how frequently you are ticking for damage, it's not a good system.

Absolutely stomping all over the endboss isn't fun. It's one thing to faceroll average rooms and bosses, but you should at least have to earn your win.

I hope at least Afterbirth (who cares about AB+) gets added to Antibirth. It would be the most ultimate game to me. Antibirth is already 10/10, but I did like a lot of Afterbirth stuff.

It's better as it is honestly. If you need those consumeables you'll still be doing those rooms.

There's no mechanical difference, though. Increased health is the same thing as damage reduction, just in the other direction. Either you get a long fight, or you don't.

This line of thinking where people assume isaac is some SUPER HARDCORE BULLETHELL are fucking retards and the whole reason the game has gone to shit as Edmund tries to "balance" around his misconception that his game is difficult. You play for the items, and less ways to get them is fucking stupid especially with the growing size of the item pool.

Maybe he should've made the rooms more challenging rather then filling them up with a shitty basic chests not even worth the time bothering with 99% of the time. The current solution is just boring

This. Isaac is unique because it's a roguelite with a high clear rate. The fun isn't the highly infrequent win, the fun is that every experience is different. That's why you have 500 items, some of which change the game monumentally like Analog or Epic Fetus, and EVERY item has a cosmetic element to it that stacks on top of all the others.

Everything is a bullet sponge.
The actually cool/fun weapons are either rare, have very little ammo, or both. It's not even about conservation, because they're not significantly better than your pea shooter starter weapon(s) - because all the enemies are bullet sponges.

The game COULD be great. It's just inherently flawed because of that.

Also, co-op is garbage.

You can put a bomb in his mouth to remove his damage resistance.

It actually makes him take like 3x your damage stat per hit.

typos and sketchy english kind of detract from the sort of polished facade they were trying to create
lots of meme-tier items and there isn't much in way of character development over the course of a playthrough
core gameplay is a little shaky as it combines input reading with the bullet hell mechanics and I'm not sure what kind of engine they were using
overall though I thought it was decent
