None. The most objective picking user

Bayonetta has too much QTE though.

Bayonetta 2 is more polished than 1 imo. And gameplay wise, DMC 4 Dante has much more variety and depth than DMC3 Dante.

>over 10 years
>3 of the best still haven't been topped even though they were from a still early gaming period

what went wrong?

nioh

Take away all of them except NGB and you're good

You're a cunt

>no memelords saying MGR
Good thread

How is DMC4 Special Edition? I haven't played it yet

Where is W101.

I keep trying to get into NG, but the stage design keeps me from enjoying it.

Nah. DMC4 Dante is geared too much towards aerial juggling and ranged ground, while DMC3 Dante has more depth in styles, as well as better ground moves and weapons

Originally I had Wonderful 101 but the general consensus was to remove it for Bayonetta from the last action game thread.

I know, I saw that. I love Bayo 1 and 2, but I also think that W101's probably the best game they've ever made under their current name.

Though my -favorite- is Vanquish.

making them simpler for people who can't be assed to practice pressing buttons in the correct order and timing.

Good but it would have been better if Dante and Nero were expanded on rather than adding Lady and Trish. Vergil is a lot of fun, if very overpowered.

I told OP to add DMC3 / NGB / God Hand in his previous thread and he actually did it the absolute madman

They expanded aerial and juggling options but forgot to expand on defensive and ground options, I feel. In DMC3 you've got a lot of freedom in how you want to play compared to a lot of recent games in this genre.

*stylish action

Best action game is Doom.

>God Hand
>Vanquish

>Devil May Cry
>Viewtiful Joe
>Bayonetta

Why don't they make more action games?
Also what do you guys think of Viewtiful Joe?

Max Payne 1 or 2 unless the mosaic is exclusive to sushi nigger shit

Is there a single western game that can even compete?

Smalltime dev having to carter to big company's demand. Japanese action games are pretty hard to get into, especially if you try a new recipe like W101 or Vanquish. Only exception is DMC4 because of Nero.
Platinum recently just sticked to the MGR format anyways since it has an easier entry

Parts of Stranglehold were pretty good too, a better Max Payne game than Max Payne 3 was.

DMC3 dante with style switcher mod has more depth than DMC4 dante.
It also helps that DMC3 is a complete game.

Literally for only one more game could you argue they stuck to an MGR-ish format.

Transformers was more Bayonetta-ish and honestly features one of their best systems.

TMNT was Anarchy Reigns 0.5.

And Automata is an action RPG.

Loved Max Payne 1 so much
Can't love Max Payne 2

What are some upcoming stylish action games to look forward to and some that may have went under the radar (gems)?

Also, are action rpgs the new stylish action game?

>swordmaster style
>no swords

a right cunt

it's a "style" not a weapon

There's Itsuno's new game that will be announced this year. DMC5 is most likely, but no certain

Only Nier Automata come close. Nioh and Soulsborne is limited in mobility and so are the bosses and enemies designed around it (for example, Orphan is not much faster than DMC3 Beowulf and the arena is more forgiving). Dragon's Dogma has too much elements to keep track of

Bayonetta 2 took twelve steps back and fell down a well, it forgot the part where it was supposed to have depth or difficulty.

Bayonetta isn't even the best Bayonetta game; Transformers is

youtube.com/watch?v=_cH2-A8sqWQ

I heard this game was shit though.

You heard wrong.

>just beat God Hand on normal
>realize how much harder Hard will be
Is it even possible?

Best God Hand player.
youtube.com/watch?v=sEuRx7gxlMM

Yeah, Bayonetta sucks eggs; replace with Nioh.

What the fuck did he do at 1:55

>play God Hand on normal
>the difficulty fluctuates depending on how good you perform
>that means that if you have ANY semblance of skill and can tie your own fucking shoelaces then that means you will always be in DIE difficulty, minus some complete mega bullshit that might drop you down a peg for a second.

>Hard mode is just permanently in DIE difficulty, therefore its actually easier since you never have to worry about dipping under from a cheap shot and you will always get rewards from having DIE difficulty

really impetuses those styles

What'd you think of it, pretty rare for someone to beat it for the first time now a days.

>putting NGB and God Hand on the same tier as that other cancer
kys

I loved it.
It's like a missing link between beat em ups that I used to play as a kid and modern action games.
The way you can customize your moveset is pretty amazing, too.

Glad to hear it pendejo.

Yeah, all of them but Ninja Gaiden are braindead button mashers. Get some taste.

What game is better, Godhand or DMC3. I love them both.

WHAT ARE THE LYRICS TO MY THEME?

Change DMC3 with DMC3 SE

Change NGB with NGS

Drop Bayonetta for MGR

remove godhand entirely it's the shittiest meme game Sup Forums forces as "good" or "funny"

>Likes MGR
>Shits on God Hand
It's like you're not even trying.

>le reddit bait fish maymay is my argument

CHANCE
C-C-CHANCE
ABUBAUBUBUBUABUABUABUBAUBAUB
PLEASE TAKE MY HAND
youtube.com/watch?v=KI6ysIeco3A

You do realize all those games have twice the depth compared to MGR I hope.

>dropping Bayonetta for fucking MGR

Stop posting. Even Transformers Devastation has better combat than MGR.

>godhand
>depth

top fucking keke m8

>Mgr
>Depth
Top fucking keke m8
Sorry to burst your bubble but mgr is the meme game, IGN

Now you're just not even trying.

Who would win?

Bayonetta 2 really does just rely the fuck on Witch Time, and honestly that isn't that fun compared to Bayonetta 1's Dodge Offset emphasis.

Bayonetta 2 was more polished overall - Bayonetta 1's secret missions are infamous for a reason and deservedly so - but it just reduces the entire combat system to fishing for a Witch Time punish.

DMC4 Dante had a shitload more depth with the Style Switcher but you spend 60% of the game play as Nero, mcOneWeapon noStyles finalDestination.

...

Still had iframes from picking up the vase

holy fuck!

This guy is an absolute madman at God Hand, I recommend watching his play through if you want to learn some new things.

Not really.

Wonderful 101 COULD replace Bayo, but I'm willing to let it slide. DMC 3 vs 4 is an argument, but I lean towards 3.

Anyone who says Bayonetta 2 has invalidated their opinion since they don't actually play these games.

Not OP, but what are other good action games like Ninja Gaiden and God Hand? I do prefer both of them compared to DMC and Bayo.

Just make a crop with NGB and NG2, there is no need to fight over the inferior competition at this point

How about a tier list
>Elder god tier
OP pic
>Top tier
W101
Bayo 2
NG2
>Flawed tier
DMC4
MGR
>Mediocre tier
Korra
TMNT
DmC
NG3
>Honorable mention
Vanquish
DMC1

>Bayo 2 above DMC4
>DMC4 equal to MGR
>no mention of Transformers
>Korra in the same tier as TMNT
>DmC in the same tier as TMNT
No.

God of War was literally never mentioned in this thread so I'm not sure the purpose of your picture other than it being funny.

As much as I love learning things in DMC4 it's basically an unfinished mess

Haven't played enough Platinum games outside of Bayo and W101 to be objective about them yet, so I just left them there

All those flashy cuhrazy combat eye sores except God Hand, the only good one in the list.

Your standards are all out of whack, like you've gotten so used to quality that fairly good games are getting flushed through the tiers.

I've always rated it as such.

>God Tier - hypercomplex combat, aggressive enemies while still maintaining superficial elements such as level design, art, pacing-breakers (minigames or platforming) and maybe even plot!
Pretty much the OP pic.

>Good Tier - complex combat with fairly aggressive enemies that you can consistently deal with, but suffers from superficial aspects being underdone
Pretty much the entire rest of your list. Throw in Transformers Devastation too, why not.

>Mediocre Tier - combat is just okay at best, but enemy aggressiveness still spikes and the superficial aspects are fairly well done
God of War
Darksiders
RE6
Dragon's Dogma

>Terrible Tier - combat is borderline braindead with extremely limited player ability to deal with any enemy aggressiveness, and it doesn't matter how good the superficial aspects are because you're an idiot for playing this
Bamham
Asscreed
Musous

Team Ninja went to shit. I like NG2 more than black, but the development hell it went through is clear.
DMC is kill.

No, they have no chance. The highest profile game you get is fucking God of War. The west simply can't compete.

Every DMC is shit and Godhand is also shit.

>move cancelling
>too many enemies on screen to appreciate individual movesets
>too much focus on combos

Everything in your pic except God Hand is a literal garbage non-game. Please kill yourself immediately.

Are you people fucking serious or is this some meme you're all in on

God Hand is fucking terrible

Where does this game fall on the cuhrazy scale?

Suda's game is fun but not so deep on a technical scale like DMC or Bayo. I'd say it's around the ranks of MGR

It's just okay, simple but can get pretty fun once you get your combo/speed up. Sup Forums shits on it's gameplay too much to be honest.

git gud

Below that, Killer is Dead has a one-button combo and just relies on not-witch time.

And endgame it falls even lower since you're just spamming OHKO executions and just shooting enemies to instantly refill your OHKO gauge.

I like it anyway.

>It's somewhat apparent that God Hand was meant to be a joke on many levels, much as a film director might intentionally make a B-movie. The game practically encourages button mashing, enemies are extremely generic, the level layout is very uninspired, the dialog and jokes are poorly written and delivered, and most of all, much of the control and gameplay mechanics are so old-school it hurts. While Clover took a huge risk in hoping that this sort of off-kilter design would appeal to some gamers, and there will probably be a few folks out there who will dig this extremely niche design, by and large the joke simply falls flat. Dead flat.

What did he mean by this?

That he's a normie who would praise Dark Souls because of the "Prepare to Die" label

Was tmnt any good?

BAYONETTA YOU MYSTERY
