Is that what all this is about?
And here I always though it was about hitting stuff until it died because it presented some kind of intangible danger to people.
That's after that shit happens, now it's just tiny villages trying to get by.
Also GS best weapon
how are they dominant if they had to be discovered?
Well before the means to travel long distances there have been societies that were far more progressed than others.
species is singular and plural, specie is not a word.
So neither is actually dominant?
Since both simply coexist independent of each other?
Dominance is a singular spot.
So is this ever covered in any of the games or by the devs. or is it just some kind of widely accepted fan cannon?
>widely accepted fan cannon
nigga nobody believes this autistic shit
>Dominance is a singular spot.
Well it's subjective when you don't know which power is stronger, but vying for dominance would be a better phase.
It's in the old art books and they haven't referenced much of it again, I wouldn't expect to see more of it. They're more interested in creating monsters with smaller narratives like the Magala's and the Lao Shoes.
Actually, this happened. Although it was some ancient dragons or something like that. Also, the technology of the world used to be better, but after the devastating war some of it was lost.
>multiple complex unique different species in the World with completely different physiology and dispositions
>Humans just lump them all up as monsters
>Humans are also the special snowflake race
Claims of a "Lost Lagombi Civilization" are myths spread by pro-Monster activists to bolster the claim for reparations.
But they do separate them into groups. Also, the Wyverians are the snowflake race. Unless you're not talking about MH.
What do you want to see in/out of Monster Hunter 5?
Types of Monster?
Weapon types?
Mechanics changed?
Be creative and think of what would actually be fun while staying within the realms of what kept previous MonHun so fun and attractive.
More spiders
More 'counter' type weapons with mad gimmicks, also blunt GS type
Wouldn't mind some camping stuff, kill a monster get a meat drop, camp and choose what to cook, then go out and hunt another etc. As long as it's nothing like other faggy survival games, just a quick cute cutscene with cats and shit.
>Types of Monster?
More crabs
It's pretty fucking canon
There's a few bits of dialog that skim the topic of a disastrous war with elder dragons and multiple descriptions ingame detail the technology being salvaged from ruins and shit, like the artisan gear, rusted weapons, and the idea for mechanical weapons like switchaxes and chargeblades.
There's also ruined infrastructure found in multiple maps.
obviously it's not all found in the game, but it's undeniably the groundwork for the setting
GS great but Hammer all the way
I just want an updated game that looks great

>More Bug monsters
>Yo-Yo weapon that would be an impact weapon with speed a little slower than dual blades
>Get rid of all of the specials from Generations (Too much payoff for something you work so little to get and it makes the game easy)
>Keep felyne mode but make them a lot weaker and more of a support class, also even though it's not directly related I think Generations handled the benefits of Felyne's the best as far as that little game for gathering felyne armor parts and picking up mushrooms, weeds, and types of items. Best one yet. Still hate Generations gameplay wise but it does have some things it did right.
>Artisan
Artian*
Isn't Gogmazdios a part of this shit?
They should bring him back in XX
So, how did Wyverians came to be? Hot Rath pussy? Or some common ancestor?
>Hot Rath pussy?
Most likely. But I don't really know.
Fist weapon
i've been saying this for the longest time
a praying mantis and Hercules beetle monster. i dont want a scaled up hercudrome either
>More spiders
Agreed, more bugs and arachnids in general though because Seltas and Nerscylla had such badass armor/weapons. The Aelucanth armor set is still my favorite. God bug armor is just so right.
>More 'counter' type weapons with mad gimmicks, also blunt GS type
Counter type weapons? But yeah, I love Great Sword's satisfying hits it would feel amazing to have that power with a blunt weapon.
>Wouldn't mind some camping stuff, kill a monster get a meat drop, camp and choose what to cook, then go out and hunt another etc. As long as it's nothing like other faggy survival games, just a quick cute cutscene with cats and shit.
Might be cool.
>>Get rid of all of the specials from Generations (Too much payoff for something you work so little to get and it makes the game easy)
I think they should keep some things.
E.g. You should be able to choose which final slash you do for the spirit combo on the LS. The half moon(the one you do after an adept roll) is good for multiplayer where the wide slash covers a wider range and is easier in single player.
Not to mention SnS stuff, some arts are good CBs energy blade is rad. just fuck off those shitty SA/HH arts.
More monsters using the latest rigging/skeletons they created for MH4, like the one for Nerscylla, which the Seltas line shares.
whip from orage would be dope
>You will never have Brachydios boxing gloves
i don't think so, isn't gogmazios just a dragon that eats gunpowder?
If they keep any of the abilities then maybe they ought to limit the amount and nerf some of them hard.
I would run Charge Blade and do the ability that gives you a shit ton of cartridges, and then the ability that uses all the cartridges as a final slash and it made some of the hunts disgustingly easy. Not that it wasn't satisfying, it just doesn't feel like that sort of easy combo-opportunity fits Monster Hunter.
>Counter type weapons?
So weapons that do things after you roll and block. Have a weapon that has a moveset for idle, after roll and after block allowing you to stick like glue to a monster. They'd probably have to keep the damage down though.
The only thing that happened is a "mysterious event" that seperated the civilisation that lived in that big castle into two.
There's no mysterious ancient species or anything. It was probably just something like the frenzy that made a bunch of dragons fuck shit up and that was the end of that.
Fucking autismos and their "omg deepest lore" shit.
Well yeah, they didn't put much effort into balancing in Gen.
They fucked up SAs arts, they didn't put much work into the hunting horn entirely the LS/SnS I was impressed with.
But yeah, while I suggest to keep some things they should be balanced or nerfed. Not just damage to, the speed of some things should be slower or take some start up time to balance out (like the shoryuken on the SnS)
MONSTERS THAT COOPERATE AND MONSTERS THAT FIGHT EACH OTHER
When I saw Seltas and Seltas Queen combine I was expecting more shit like that for the rest of the game, I was pretty disappointed.
Missions where Steve and Rathalos don't even acknowledge each other's existence is some fucking bullshit.
...
Just googled him, came from a swamp.
I think it was here someone had a theory that he was a remnant from the old lore. Sounded quite convincing even though it was headcanon.
I take it you're not a fan of that whole reading thing?
I'm down for a new ranged weapon. Any ideas?
Nobody would ever complain about LS tripping ever again.
I need this
Jesus Christ! Just think of all the monster tails that would make for crazy badass whips.
B O O M E R A N G
You know you want it.
Not that guy, but I respect your decision mine hammer nigga. I main GS. You got the front and I got the back? We'll spitroast that bitch.

too bad 2kiden took it first
bolas, has a higher trip chance
Boomerang would fit the aesthetic so well.
bolo mind
Sounds like a plan.
One day, user. One day.
Water
oh shit with fists too! That is cool as hell
Imagine if there's a monster that actually helps you if you stop another monster from killing it and then you can tame them to use on future hunts
hybrid melee/range weapon idea
chakrams, can throw from range and have a DS like move set without the demon mode.
>and then you can tame them to use on future hunts
Lost me there, but I liked everything else. Most I'm willing to go is 'doesn't try to kill you'.
so its like the Kirby Cutter?
Well it was a thing in a spin off Monster Hunter, maybe only small and medium monsters can be tamed while large ones would just leave you alone.
Yeah, I'd like to leave it in the spin off, personally.
Why do Japanese think dragons always make an efficient weapon form?
>MONSTERS THAT COOPERATE AND MONSTERS THAT FIGHT EACH OTHER
