Not him but I first got the Wipeout XL demo on PC when I was a kid. I never learned how to master the game until my adulthood. Hold the airbrake early before you tackle the corner and it should be a nice glide. You also need to be familiar with the courses.

Test Drive Unlimited is easily my favorite racing game, it would be literal GOD TIER and 3x3 worthy if they bothered to add more cars and Japanese shit into it.
But I also like: any Gran Turismo between 1 and 4, with the exception of 3 since I haven't played it, Ridge Racer Type 4 and GRID. Drift Stage will be pretty good once they finally finish it eighteen years from now. Lego Racer for nostalgia's sake.
