Burger King
>Game Science
>DeVry for-profit school
wut lmao
>game science
If you have a degree of any kind, McDonald's is usually going to either put you on the management track or refuse to hire you. It's one of those places where you can actually get turned down for being overqualified.
>that's the reason McDonalds turned you down
>Game science
CS graduate code thread?
Actually, it is. I have an engineering job now, but several years ago I tried applying when I only had an associate's degree in bullshit. The guy said he'd hire me on as an assistant manager or shift lead, but he didn't need any at the moment. I delivered pizzas instead.
It does look quite nice to work there when they put it in that way.
Ignoring the lack of a return, that's kind of funny.
>he fell for the devry meme
I'm sorry OP, you're going to have to go out and get a real job. Maybe at a gas station or supermarket. Those colleges won't help you get a tech job even though they say they will. It's a scam. Hopefully your debt isn't too big.
An associate's degree in bullshit is a little redundant, no?
I bet you make your mom proud
>game science
Nigga even a fucking general studies degree could have been more useful
>Game Science
oh boy
Not him but what is wrong with you? Seriously, I feel like you got some kind of mental disease, so what is it?
...
...
does anyone have those twitter screencaps of female vs male programmer?
...
>animeposter
There's a very good chance user is an autistic NEET
...
I've never worked with programming out A.I. before, but this is actually how I imagine it would look. Like, you would obviously use more functions for cleaner code, but A.I., to me, seems like just a series of if statements.
I heard Undertale's dialogue trees are all in one big fat if statement
This, on the other hand, is really fucking bad. lolwtf
holy shit that looks painful to write
...
What exactly is game science? What part of the game design process are you learned in?
Anyone have the pastebin?
...
...
It's called tough love snowflake. You may be focusing on the "you fucked up" aspect of what I said, you're missing the true implication of the fact that it's never too late to turn it around.
Good for you, and I don't mean it sarcastically, I made several similar mistakes as you described and eventually transitioned to the IT field, and it's been smooth sailing since.
An associate degree is just a more fancy name for college dropout. You really would wanna go for Bachelors if you want a chance for a decent job.
Interesting that the Color constructor apparently takes integers and doubles instead of floats.
Cringe
>tfw finally going to graduate from Full Sail University in Game Design this may
I can't fucking wait to be making 6 figures for making videogames. I'll be sure to come back and laugh at you fucking loosers here every now and then.
Please tell me you have some sort of portfolio with 3D work instead of just "I know how to make vidya geemz" when you probably get an interview, if your resume even gets past first review.
the fuck is going here?
you use a finite state machine at the ABSOLUTE, BARE minimum
In any artistic field like game design, no one gives a fuck about your degree if you have a portfolio of good shit. Even in academic fields like the hard sciences, I bet you could walk into a university with no post-secondary and slap down a fat book of original research and get a job. Of course, the likelihood of yoy being able to do quality research without the facilities and rigor of a formal education is pretty slim.
>he gets paid in figures
here's one for your collection faggot
programming is gay, if I ever get into games it's gonna be for art. At least then I can be somewhat valuable as an 'ideas guy'
It appears to be a switch statement. Nothing is happening though, none of the argument names are descriptive, they all have names like "argument#"
>DeVry
>Game Science
I know this is a troll post, but please. My heart can't take it.
Yandere Sim dev probably knows more about coding than me, which makes me sad.
Have a couple of team projects this semester so maybe that will change and I won't end up like the retard CS student meme.
>Even in academic fields like the hard sciences, I bet you could walk into a university with no post-secondary and slap down a fat book of original research and get a job.
ahahahahahah man that's a good fuckin joke. Academia is horrifically competitive and petty and picky and pathetic and political all the shitty words you can think of. No one cares about your research, they care about who you are pretending to be, and if you don't even have a PhD then you can fuck right off.
i want to make an isometric shooter, like stalker or something, where do i start.
Literally first month of java already teaches you better than that, and much more.
could it be auto generated code?
learn what the fucking word isometric means would be a start
lol no, nothing would generate code this poorly written and formatted
>DeVry
I thought South Park made that up
i meant an isometric shooter with gameplay mechanics similar to stalker
i looked at some senior design project shit at my college that involved code conversion/generation (so, automatically converting code from language A to language B), and while it wasn't THIS bad, it was still pretty awfully redundant and incomprehensible.
Game Maker is good for 2D games. I'd start with that.
Yes, mcd. If you get really lucky since you're underqualified.
ok ill get started right NOW
Welcome to beginning of a long and rewarding career, user! And good luck!
Be sure to hang yourself while you are at it
That's too much smug for one post.
Why not use a switch statement?
Im already an HR worker at a retail store. About to graduate with a Busisness Managment Major. I dont even know what the fuck there is to do. I cant sell shit
more like "Why didn't they just use ANYTHING better than that mess?"
>He didn't go investment banking for the $1m/year salary
lmao
>tfw also fell for the game degree from DeVry meme
Kill me.
I don't see any options to study Game Science at DrVry. You're not telling porky pies are you, OP?
I started getting into programming and always feel like I'm doing it wrong when things nest too deep. Just to confirm, this is bad, right?
Gonna need some details, user. How was it learning about how to make vidya?
>Graduated last year with a BS in Chemistry
>I get put into hiring for two months as we are very low staffed
>See people getting hired with BAs
>Realize I took all those extra hard classes for literally no reason
Getting associates degree in philosophy and then a bachelors in accountancy followed by a MBA.
After all, what is a man?
Maybe sue them or something if you can't get hired.
clearly a shmuck
lel
Nice. I'll be sure to pick up your game that makes the Witcher look like crap when it comes out!
you are like a little baby. watch this.
The only majors worth paying a lot of money for are majors take teach you a direct skill in the workforce and are still in demand i.e. accounting, nursing, engineering etc.
They are exceptions to this rule, especially if you are Ivy league. Nevertheless its true generally speaking.
YandereDev.
99% of the time: yes you are nesting way too deep
Tell that to my 3.8 GPA, Nation Honors Society membership and acceptance into W.P. Carey School of Business.
I killed God and in doing so became a God myself; now I'm going to learn how to hide your money from the IRS and your future ex-wives.
not unless you want to move to canada but im sure even the devs that are hiring would laugh you out of the building because you went to a university for fucking game science
>Has MBA
>cares about GPA
whatever you say kiddo
I'm thinking about becoming a radiographer. Is that good or shit?
Nesting isn't inherently bad, but excessive nesting is usually a red flag that whoever made it is doing something very, VERY wrong somewhere. You get shit like pic related where it's going to take you several minutes of staring just to figure out what the shit is going on.
But the nesting is not what makes that such a mess.
...
bonus points: search for "for" or "while"
There's literally nothing wrong with that code.
No, I don't have an MBA yet.
GPA means nothing to me, it just scores me scholarships.
>Game Science
What is that exactly?
Game Theory?
Player behavior?
Applied programming?
Total bullshit?
the only worthwhile degrees are the ones that let you jump straight into self-employment
radiography is easy money. as a trade its low-skill high-scarcity so you can always find somewhere that needs a new one
This. Being a wagecuck now is suicide. Especially with Republitards in control of business law.
Small business is going to do great under Trump, what are you smoking?
Cool
